I did not buy a shed from HS directly; However, purchased a used 20x12 --15 year-old one, that was built by HSI contracted with them to move it 45 miles to my location coordinated with Glenn on Monday. We had Austin deliver it on Friday. After 15 years, this shed was solid and in great condition. I replaced some outside non-PT pine trim, but extremely happy with the shed. We bought a 12" x 28" two storey builing from Hometown Structures. We could not be more pleased with the service offered by the entire team. Of particular note are the enormously talented and hardworking Joe and Austin who installed the structure in just three days. Day one was Joe for impeccable site prep, day two was the installation of the bottom floor and on day three with the assistance of a Harolds Garage crane the top was in place. Ordered a custom 10X12 shed, to be built on site. They handled the entire process including foundation. Service was excellent and price fair. Shed was build as designed and quality is outstanding. Ordered a custom 12x20 shed. Not delivered as designed. Where to start... Window put on wrong side where I did not want a window. Custom ordered window now had to be repositioned to an undesired location on the side I "custom ordered", so as not to be able to see directly up into the house. No one checked product order compliance prior to delivery. Now no longer as custom ordered. Other things you should know: They cut part of my tree at the base of my drive without consulting me. I found this out after delivery. I provided 5 gallons of stain that matched the main house. There is no way this took 5 gallons as my entire main house took 3 with two coats. They gave me 1/3 of a gallon back and you could see the T1-11 base coloring in many places that had to be corrected, which they were required to do. Was supposed to be two coats, looked like one coat. The trim also had to be touched up as someone put a maroon colored support board on white trim and made multiple stain marks. They screw two boards into the front of your brand new thousands of dollars roof prior to transport instead of covering the roof in some other non shingle roof compromising way. This is not explained during order process. They remove these boards on site, then glob on very noticeable black tar on the brand new roof in four places where they damaged it. You are not supposed to say anything as they will tell you "no one else has ever complained". Suggestion: have shingle roof installed on site Whoever drove this to the site drove way too fast, as even though the boards were screwed in, the front shingles on both sides were broken and torn with over twenty shingles in the main display having to be hammered back down on both sides. They were required to be repaired as well as the four unsightly black tar globbed ones. When I climbed up on the ladder to inspect one repair, another shingle was just glued on top of the other damaged one. ??? Looked awful. This was required to be redone AGAIN. They ran out of repair replacement shingles, so I contacted the company to get another bundle to finish these repairs on the BRAND NEW no longer CUSTOM ORDER, to find out that they were unable to find the 30 yr for the custom order which match the house, so they changed them to the 25 yr.. I found this out when I picked up the repair bundle and thought they gave me the wrong ones. Why did the shingle seller write 30 yr shingle on the invoice and give me a 25 yr. bundle? The 30 yr were discontinued, but they decided I did not need to know this. The roof was also leaking from a non repaired area. The drip edge corners under the ridge line were damaged, bent, scraped down to the aluminum base with multiple corner gaps. They use short and long pieces lying around so the front and back ridge line is not one complete piece on either side. Too many seams all around and even more now since the pieces installed were put in damaged, the roofing lifted and had to be cut out to repair and butt corners correctly. My no longer custom order also had sono tubes, with a gravel base. Before the gravel was put in, it appears the piles of dirt taken out from the sono tube install were not leveled off and filled in, so now water gathers down in there which reflects in wet gravel spots inside the shed. At some point I will have to correct this now that a garage door has been installed from a Home Depot sale. I did not want to be a foreman on this botched project. What was ordered was not what was delivered. It looked like a sale lot item dressed up to attempt to resemble a custom order hoping I would not notice. Took evidence pictures of everything to relay via email to management. The rest of the roof repairs were refused since I was not going to pay the small remaining balance for the excessive inconvenience of a product type I did not order, prior to the rest of these repairs when I could have directly refused the entire product before install.
