Beautiful Landscaping & Construction was contracted by a remediation company to come in and put the…read morepieces back together after a multilevel flood in my home. The project manager said that Anthony had done good work in the past and was confident in his skill level. But it got to a point where I wouldn't allow his crew to return. The owner of the restoration company asked if I would give Anthony a second chance to come in and complete the tile work. The bathroom floor was straightforward and came out good. But the kitchen was a bit more complex and about 1/4 needs to be torn out. I actually had to explain edging and bullnose tile to him. The pictures are just a small representation of what they considered to be finished work...they had packed up and removed their equipment. I was speechless. There was wall paint all over my cabinets and molding, molding paint all over the ceiling and walls, and gobs of joint compound. The demo crew set up a plastic containment barrier. When it was removed, Anthony's crew painted over the adhesive residue left from the tape. A breakfast nook escaped damage except for a 6-8 inch stain on the ceiling. Instead of using stain blocker, the crew slapped joint compound on the stain and painted over it without sanding. In addition to being sloppy, they clearly do not have the skill to work in old homes. Additionally, they took down the motion sensor to the security system, lost half of the unit, and hung up what was remaining. No one recalls touching it - that's a $350 replacement and installation cost. They also covered my Corian sink in paint, lost the paint covered garbage disposal stopper, used my mop bucket and left it behind covered in crap, and let tons of construction debris pile up in a pantry sink that has 114 year old pipes. The restoration company had their demo guys come in to try and clean up the mess, but unfortunately the ceilings need major remediation and I have to hire someone else to come in to clean up the poor caulking and painting. Work time was already extended at least 1 week because of mistakes and sloppiness. I got the distinct impression that Anthony was juggling a lot. Judging from the reviews, he should drop construction from his business model and focus on the landscaping.

The previous owner, Dave, retired in 2019 and Dan now runs the company. It's been a while since I had an A1 need but alas, we broke part of a kitchen window last week and couldn't close it. I had my wife email A1 and they got right back to her. They confirmed how dang old our windows were, looked for a part to fix it and set up an appointment with us a few days later to take a look. Fortunately, Dan did have a part and was able to fix the window in a jiffy. It did cost us for a "service call" but it was worth the $160. Nice guy, too. I will continue to use this company in the future. They've replaced over 30 windows for me, installed some old school screens on my porch and have replaced my back door. Great service, give them a shot.

Daniel acquired the business from the previous owner around that time after working there as the lead installer (so consider that when reading some of the older reviews) and every experience we've had with Daniel, Don, and the rest of their team has been exceptional. They do great work, have given excellent advice, and have treated our house and windows as if they were working on their own homes. Their prices are competitive--but I appreciate the value--explaining the difference in glass size between a replacement and new window, ensuring proper flashing/insulation, working with me to address any unforeseen issues once the old windows are out, and taking into account my desire to replace exterior trim, all of which impact a project -- vs. just "selling the window that's on the truck". Let's face it, it's a lot less fun to buy windows than a new car or a TV -- but the windows look great, I'm no longer constantly addressing dry rot on 25-year-old windows and trim, and the team at A-1 has really been a partner along the way. Could not be happier with our local installer (and local windows -- shout out to Mercury Excellum, as well)...and highly recommend A-1.

Larry was great the first few times he came. I gave him 4 months notice for this last job and he…read morekept us waiting for 7 months rather than putting us into his schedule when requested. I didn't care because he'd been great previously and I thought he'd be worth waiting for. When he came to take measurements and all of that, he gave a long speech about how he had to be here when his sheet rock crew were scheduled to come and explained why, but he never showed up on that day. When he did come, he complained how he was losing money on the job, but he'd come up with the quote, which we'd borrowed money to honor. I have pictures of the horrific job he did. How do you send in a sheet rock guy who does a great job ahead of you, and ruin fresh sheetrock? He managed to do just that. There are lumps, bumps, sections that look like popcorn, and worse. I respectfully contacted him to come fix the work. That was 6 months ago. Never heard back. Don't pay him until you've inspected the work, no matter what kind of song and dance you get because you'll never see him. $4100 down the drain. We've had to fix everything little by little and some areas can't be fixed unless we were to tear down the sheetrock and start all over again. NOT a happy customer.
