Still GREAT! If you've read my previous reviews you'd know that in 2001 I hired A1 to replace my…read morewindows and they were fantastic. The previous owner, Dave, retired in 2019 and Dan now runs the company. It's been a while since I had an A1 need but alas, we broke part of a kitchen window last week and couldn't close it. I had my wife email A1 and they got right back to her. They confirmed how dang old our windows were, looked for a part to fix it and set up an appointment with us a few days later to take a look. Fortunately, Dan did have a part and was able to fix the window in a jiffy. It did cost us for a "service call" but it was worth the $160. Nice guy, too. I will continue to use this company in the future. They've replaced over 30 windows for me, installed some old school screens on my porch and have replaced my back door. Great service, give them a shot.

As the reviews of A-1 on Yelp are all older, I wanted to add something current. We used A-1 to…read morereplace over 100 windows, as well as a couple of doors, starting in 2021. Daniel acquired the business from the previous owner around that time after working there as the lead installer (so consider that when reading some of the older reviews) and every experience we've had with Daniel, Don, and the rest of their team has been exceptional. They do great work, have given excellent advice, and have treated our house and windows as if they were working on their own homes. Their prices are competitive--but I appreciate the value--explaining the difference in glass size between a replacement and new window, ensuring proper flashing/insulation, working with me to address any unforeseen issues once the old windows are out, and taking into account my desire to replace exterior trim, all of which impact a project -- vs. just "selling the window that's on the truck". Let's face it, it's a lot less fun to buy windows than a new car or a TV -- but the windows look great, I'm no longer constantly addressing dry rot on 25-year-old windows and trim, and the team at A-1 has really been a partner along the way. Could not be happier with our local installer (and local windows -- shout out to Mercury Excellum, as well)...and highly recommend A-1.

We had Kelly come to our home for a consultation and demonstration for replacement of 16 windows…read more Kelly was very knowledgeable and patient with all of our questions. He was able to work with us for what we wanted in our window project, as well as work with us to fit within our budget. We are very pleased with our new windows and will recommend AWS to anyone looking for replacement windows!

Hired AWS for window replacement. Out of the three companies we considered, they were the most…read moreprofessional. Not the cheapest nor the most expensive, but the only company to provide an in-home demo of the actual windows we were purchasing. With such a big home improvement project, you want to feel confident that you made the right choice. Shortly after signing the paperwork, they sent someone out to measure. Then we waited quite a while for the job to be scheduled. Unfortunately, installation occurred during a weeklong heat wave. Yet the guys rarely complained, and spent four full days installing our windows. If I have any complaints, it's about their after sale customer service. The day our installation wrapped up, I noticed a slash in one of the screens, and was assured they'd order a replacement and have it sent to us. Three months later we still had no screen, so my husband and I started calling. Every call was treated as a brand new sales call and no one seemed to know anything about our replacement screen. Finally, someone came out and made us a new screen onsite. However, he re-screened it too tightly, and the frame warped. More phone calls and more confusion on their part made us feel like we were in the twilight zone. Ultimately, we took the frame to their office and they fixed it there, which was an additional inconvenience. Other than these few snafus, we're happy with the work.

We brought it up, they sent Asanti (seriously good guy), he agreed there was a problem and in due course they made it good. This is what seperates sheep and goats. If I have any lingering quibble, it would be that it took a little longer than I might have liked, but the end result is all I could wish for.

Our roof had NEVER leaked, but because of its age we called JP Carroll for an inspection. The…read moresalesmen inspected inside the attic and videoed the entire roof and reported that there were no serious issues that needed immediate attention. We decided to replace it anyway to head off any future problems. I told them that my one hesitancy in signing the contract was the reviews I had read about absent project managers and subsequent problems. They guaranteed us that a project manager would be there the whole time to supervise the installation and provide us with ongoing pictures of the process. Even though their price was higher than some others, we decided that it was worth it to pay for this supervision and receive evidence of their workmanship. On the roofing day, the project manager texted that he would arrive at 8 a.m. Instead, he arrived as the crew was packing up to leave to collect our check. He got up on a ladder and fixed a cosmetic issue on the edge of the roof we pointed out to him, but never got on the roof itself to inspect the work. When it rained the next week, water began leaking into our attic around the chimney for the first time. Eventually, a member of the same roofing crew (not a manager) was sent to assess the problem. He reported that there was no problem with the flashing they installed, but that the chimney had several cracks in the mortar and we needed to find a mason right away. He had no answer when I asked how it could be that we had no previous leaks, that our original inspection did not report any cracks, and that no one noticed problems when roofing around the chimney. After several calls to the JP Carroll production number, I've learned not to expect the return calls "within 24 hours" that are promised. If they were even taken, my requests to receive the promised photos of the roofing process (as well as the original inspection video) have been ignored. Not only did I fail to receive the services that I paid for, but am left with a leaking roof that didn't leak before. I wish I had paid more attention to those negative reviews that I read.
