They requested a 1/3 deposit that could not be paid electronically. This should have been my first clue. Then it took a month for the window to arrive. They then scheduled and showed up with a regular window. And they of course ripped out the existing window before checking. So I had to have the wrong window installed and then wait six weeks for the correct panes to arrive. Then spend two weeks going back and forth to schedule a new installation date. Then they flew in and out on the date and I finally had my window. And it took only 10 minutes following the job being finished before someone showed up from the company and demanded payment. Not throughout the whole process was anything given emphasis until it was time for them to be paid. Avoid at all costs.

They later installed new sheet rock and molding over old and outdated glue on tiles in the same kitchen (after a burst pipe resulted in having to cut a hole into ceiling.) The previous owner, Dave, retired in 2019 and Dan now runs the company. It's been a while since I had an A1 need but alas, we broke part of a kitchen window last week and couldn't close it. I had my wife email A1 and they got right back to her. They confirmed how dang old our windows were, looked for a part to fix it and set up an appointment with us a few days later to take a look. Fortunately, Dan did have a part and was able to fix the window in a jiffy. It did cost us for a "service call" but it was worth the $160. Nice guy, too. I will continue to use this company in the future. They've replaced over 30 windows for me, installed some old school screens on my porch and have replaced my back door. Daniel acquired the business from the previous owner around that time after working there as the lead installer (so consider that when reading some of the older reviews) and every experience we've had with Daniel, Don, and the rest of their team has been exceptional. They do great work, have given excellent advice, and have treated our house and windows as if they were working on their own homes. Their prices are competitive--but I appreciate the value--explaining the difference in glass size between a replacement and new window, ensuring proper flashing/insulation, working with me to address any unforeseen issues once the old windows are out, and taking into account my desire to replace exterior trim, all of which impact a project -- vs. just "selling the window that's on the truck". Let's face it, it's a lot less fun to buy windows than a new car or a TV -- but the windows look great, I'm no longer constantly addressing dry rot on 25-year-old windows and trim, and the team at A-1 has really been a partner along the way. Could not be happier with our local installer (and local windows -- shout out to Mercury Excellum, as well)...and highly recommend A-1.

From the initial appointment to measure, access the damage (we had rotted wood and other issues that required construction), everyone at Boost Construction was a pleasure to work with and responsive in a timely manner. Ed always responded to my text messages (with my questions) immediately. Slav (Construction Manager) is an expert at his job, and he and his helper arrived on time and even stayed late in the evening to finish the job in one day, because I work from home and could not have construction noise going on the next day. Our new windows look terrific, and I feel good knowing that they were installed correctly. The wood trim construction on the inside of the window is flawless. My wife and I wanted to replace our home's failing, outdated windows for years and we finally decided to move forward with such a daunting project. Our old windows were drafty, some could barely be opened, and our energy bills were ridiculous. I spent weeks researching well-known national installers down to local companies. It was then that I came across Kubala Home Improvement. As I explored their website, I was impressed by their awards and testimonials. I dug a little deeper and could not find a single review on any business review website in which they did not receive five-stars. I called and set up an appointment with a sales representative (this was the first of many companies with which we were scheduled to meet). My wife and I met with Ben Griffin at our home, and it quickly became obvious that our windows were much worse off than we thought (they were at least 40 years old and had no R-Value). Ben is very affable, and he carefully explained how Kubala's windows are constructed (in the U.S., a huge plus) and every aspect of the replacement process.
