Larry was great the first few times he came. I gave him 4 months notice for this last job and he kept us waiting for 7 months rather than putting us into his schedule when requested. I didn't care because he'd been great previously and I thought he'd be worth waiting for. When he came to take measurements and all of that, he gave a long speech about how he had to be here when his sheet rock crew were scheduled to come and explained why, but he never showed up on that day. When he did come, he complained how he was losing money on the job, but he'd come up with the quote, which we'd borrowed money to honor. I have pictures of the horrific job he did. How do you send in a sheet rock guy who does a great job ahead of you, and ruin fresh sheetrock? He managed to do just that. There are lumps, bumps, sections that look like popcorn, and worse. I respectfully contacted him to come fix the work. That was 6 months ago. Never heard back. Don't pay him until you've inspected the work, no matter what kind of song and dance you get because you'll never see him. $4100 down the drain. We've had to fix everything little by little and some areas can't be fixed unless we were to tear down the sheetrock and start all over again. NOT a happy customer. read more

Larry was a godsend to my South Hadley fixer-upper. He and his crew framed and installed a new wall to make an extra bedroom, new ceiling in the kitchen and a new drywall in the basement. They also did a wonderful job fixing prior issues, like patching holes, wall being crooked, etc. I cannot say enough nice things about Larry. I called Preferred Drywall on a whim after frustratingly trying to take some wallpaper down. I had orginally called about getting the thinnest sheetrock over it. Larry was willing to do it. However he also explained how I'd have to consider door jams, trim, outlets etc no matter how thin the sheetrock was. He advised instead to skim coat it. I am so pleased with the results of the skin coating. It looks fantastic and I didnt have to pull my hair out removing wallpaper. read more

Larry Cloutier is a master of the craft. For $700 he and his guy fixed many many many holes I made installing a new HDMI wire and finding a foundation leak. I tried doing in myself and I feel I need to add that making a wall like mine flat again was really really hard. Larry did like 8 sections in a day and a half. He is amazing. Really. Totally one of the best contractors I ever hired to fix anything in my 114 year old house. read more
