He recommended a particular approach and materials (but was amenable to customer preferences) and discussed pros/cons (options for a rain diverter; shingles vs tar or whatever the other roofing surface was). He's licensed, insured and a hard worker who arrived on time, then worked steadily all through the day. I was equally impressed that he was respectful of my home (wiped his boots when entering the house; quickly shut the door on a cold winter day while we discussed the project; didn't want to sit down because he had been outside on the roof, sawing wood, waterproofing, laying shingles -- things like that).
