Monday 7/22 I signed a contract with Battle Ground Mini Storage for unit number 404. Tuesday 7/23…read morearound 7pm I went to my storage unit, and found that there was a lock placed on the door, preventing me from accessing the unit. The office was closed. I called and left a voicemail. Wednesday, my plan was to ride my motorcycle to the storage unit, store my motorcycle in my storage and pickup the 20ft uhaul truck I reserved for an 8am pickup. I had already supplied my registration insurance for my motorcycle. Because a lock was placed on my unit preventing me access, I was not able to store my motorcycle, and forced to catch an Uber to pick up the uhaul. When I arrived to pickup the uhual the morning of 7/24 at 8am, after paying for the uhual and completing majority of the self check-in process, I found there was not a combination lock on the back of the truck. I looked all around the truck and inside the truck. I called uhual customer service, who attempted to reach the site manager. The site manager did not answer. I was then transferred to the schedule department. From there I was rerouted to Orchards location. Due to Battle Ground Mini storage not upholding their end of the rental agreement, I then had to take another Uber to the Orchard location. I arrived home at 9:30am versus my planed time of 8:30am. I hired movers through uhual to start at 9am. So I lost 30 minutes of moving time, as they were sitting waiting for me. I called the Battle Ground mini storage location and spoke to Emma. Emma advised a lock was placed on my storage unit by mistake from there their security team. She also advised she didn't know why the combination lock was not placed on the truck, and that my reservation was in the system for self check-in. As of today Emma is ignoring me. I have emailed Battle Ground Storage Unit on 08/13 and 08/19, and I have not received any response. This is the total cost I ensured due to Battle Ground Mini storage placing a lock on my storage unit causing me not to have access to my unit and for their staff not setting the combination lock on the truck: 1st Uber trip-$21.44 2nd Uber trip-$34.68 Movers: $47.50 Total $103.62 I would like to be reimbursed for $103.62. In addition, I canceled the storage right away, due to having to get a unit elsewhere and I was told I would receive a refund, for $44.84 for the unit, and I have not.

Let me pick up my key a day early since I had a long drive and figured I'd be back after they closed the next day. The storage units are clean, temp controlled. They have rolling carts to transport belongings around the building. First off the onsite manager Sharri is one of the most abrasive employees I have ever encountered…read morein my 30 years of law enforcement and I've seen and dealt with quite a few. Today I had a moving service scheduled to deliver my belongings from out of state to this location only to find the gate was not operating correctly. However, all security gates by law are required to have a safety mechanism and manual override which she had no clue on what to do. Her response, behaviour and mannerisms were so out of control is appeared as if she didn't have a clue on what to do. She initially tried to deny my delivery truck access but that ended up happening anyway because they were unable to get into the facility. I had to find another location at the last minute to get my items delivered at an additional cost. I have consulted a local civil attorney and will be pursuing legal action for damages. I've read several of her yelp reviews and they speak for themselves. How can any one individual be up and down like a roller coaster as Sharri unless their is an underlying issue. The facility has approximately (5) parking spaces in the entrance area. She even complained because my son-in-law and I were parked in the two spaces next to the office waiting for the moving truck. Now keep in mind there is "Zero Signage" indicating you can't park there. I truly believe Sharri was simply trying to pull a power trip on us but sadly she picked the wrong individual. Many of her yelp reviews were consistent with todays behaviour. What amazes me is when you call their office to lodge a complaint, it goes on deaf ears. That's probably why she is still employed at the company. I'm sorry but the only reason this facility got a one star rating is because I couldn't give them anything less. I "Would Not" use this facility for any reason when there are others nearby for comparable rates and much better conditions. In addition, this facility does not provide carts to move items from your vehicle into your storage unit when most others do. I could go on and on about this place but I figure you'll get the picture. Just remember, Renter Beware!
