I thank Jennifer, Tracy and Acme Storage for some memories I will never forget and a true demonstration of compassion. Every facility has its challenges and it's sometimes difficult to control the actions of others. Overall, during the time I rented at Acme I can honestly say that when someone's presence on the property clearly affected others in a negative manner, they weren't there for very long. The building had a beautiful window and Joe seemed really nice but he made me uncomfortable because when he was showing me around his facility he always had a grin on his face and went out of his way to stand close enough to me that i could smell him. I ended up renting a space here for two months. After I dropped off my boat and trailer I went back the next day to get some things I forgot and when I got there the gate was left open. I drove in and Joe was inside my boat going through the drawers and all my things were spread out all over the place. He told me that I "left a light on" and that he was "just trying to turn if off." I took my trailer and boat home with me and I ended up taking it to Chinook RV storage in Portland off Marine Drive. Very professional people here, no weird employees wandering around and it was cheaper. Feel alot better about this place!

I called one other place that had some guy trying to find the size/price I needed from different businesses all around the area. A broker? A middle man? For storage? No thank you!! I then called West Coast. The manager answered the phone. He was onsite. He happened to have the size unit I needed for a great price. When I showed up to rent the space, I was in awe of how CLEAN the entire place was. The cleanliness wasn't all that impressed me though. It was the care the manager took in explaining things to me, the absolutely secure way the units are locked, and the well lit hallways that make it easy to manage your storage unit. Why get excited about storage? Because the last thing I needed when I moved was one more thing to make things harder. This place made not only my day easier but MONTHS of knowing my stuff is secure, temperature controlled and easily accessible. THANK YOU WEST COAST!

Due to the economy and real‑life situations outside our control, we've had no choice but to store two households' worth of belongings here for the past 2 1/2 years. During that time, our rate has gone up by $50-$80 every six months. Our bill is now $420 a month, which is simply not sustainable for any family trying to stay afloat. At this point, we're genuinely worried about losing everything we've stored because we can't keep up with these constant increases. I've tried to resolve this through every proper channel -- the facility, the district manager, and multiple escalations to corporate -- and corporate has not responded to a single call or email. My payment was due on the 18th, and I even went to the facility in person because I have an active escalation pending. Still no acknowledgment or consideration from corporate. I also filed a consumer complaint with the Washington State Attorney General and have not received any confirmation or response from Extra Space. This has been one of the most stressful and disappointing customer service experiences I've ever dealt with."**

It turns out that besides the base fee and the per mile fee, you also have a $1 environmental fee and a $3.46 tax and also a whopping $14 SafeMove insurance fee. The tax I understand since I live in washington state but environmental?? I know the van is a gas guzzler but I drove it only 7 miles with coasting to stop lights and slow acceleration. The insurance was quite expensive for what we used it for. So the environmental fee and insurance fees (totalling $15) were not disclosed on the uhaul.com web site at all, just the base fee of $19.95 and the per mile fee and the obligation to fill the gas tank back up. Deceptive. I paid a total of about $43 to drive 7 miles, plus a bit of gas.
