I ordered delivery tonight, the delivery was on time. I ordered a Cheeseburger sub. I placed the order through Eat24. I asked that the cheeseburger be cooked medium rare, it was cooked well done. The sub was so dry I needed water to choke it down. I also ordered chicken wings. They were very good. Been going to Papa Gino's in Saugus for years, and out of convenience decided to find a good alternative closer to my house. The Pizza at Hometown pizza is good, i also tried the steak tip sandwich and It checked out also. A big part of going back a few times a week is the attitude of the staff, nice, friendly, and prompt. Want another reason? Then, on Tuesdays the pizza is half price. I once had a concern about the pizza and they welcomed my opinion with an open mind and Zero attitude. I was a bit concerned when I opened the pizza box to see my Chicken Pesto Pizza's crust looked a little burnt, but it was actually fine on the bottom. The pizza was probably one of the better/best in my immediate area (Malden/Revere/Saugus line). Then I had the wings. Ohh, the wings, yes. Those are what won me over and I even went back the next night for more wings! I specifically tried the Honey BBQ and they were absolutely delicious and great quality chicken, even better than Wings Over I dare say. Ordered a large thin crust well done peperoni pizza. It arrived within a reasonable amount of time and was hot, and thin crust. It wasn't well done, in fact soggy, but that wasn't the worst part!! The sauce had the strangest taste. I couldn't identify the strange spice but it did not belong on a pizza. Portions are very, very generous for the price. Delivery is a little slow, especially when my parents live about a 3 minute drive from the shop. Shouldn't take 45 minutes for 3 wraps! Ok, it's sad but I admitted to my friend I'd order from here every night if I didn't think the delivery guy would judge me :) I haven't tried too much on their menu but have loved it all! This is usually my go to place when I order out. They have some great specials in their menues and the prices are great. Sometimes delivery takes a little while, but nothing ridiculous. The portions are pretty big, especially for the low prices and I don't think I've ever had a messed up order from them. The food itself is good. Its nothing to write home about but you won't regret it either. Inside its a small restaurant with a few tables and some seats with a tv, nothing fancy. The staff has always been polite and friendly. When I first walked through the door I was hoping for a nice Italian experience but what I got was a little lackluster in service. The food is fairly good but I believe it could be better. I'm not entirely sure wether it was this location or what but the service was awful. I ordered SWEET tea and the waitress asked if I wanted SWEET or UNSWEET, I ordered sweet tea before she asked this, and it automatically gave me a bad vibe. I ordered cheese bread for my appetizer and when it arrived it was not hot but rather warm and not "cheesy" just buttered up pizza crust and the flavor was extremely lacking and just plain dry. I came here with my family and I am about 22 years old yet when I ordered my spaghetti dinner the waitress (who I might add looks younger than I do) asked if I needed the "children's meal" I politely responded "the adult meal" even though on the inside I was screaming my lungs out. When my family's meals arrived mine was missing, it turns out that the waitress "forgot" to write down my order. My family and I had already been here for about an hour, now I had to wait another 25-30 minutes for my meal. All in all the food is actually good but I suggest you test their service. However the hometown pizza that I visited, has waiters and other locations do not, maybe this is a special location, I'm not sure. Thank you. read more

Hands down the WORST place to get pizza or anything in Saugus. Ordered 2 cheese pizzas for delivery, took well over an hour. Mind you I was at my girlfriends house, which is no joke within a stones throw of the restaurant one block over. Opened the two boxes and to our delight *sarcasm* the pizzas were so cold you could pick it up and play frisbee with them. I adventurously took a bite anyways and after breaking my teeth off the frozen disk I was immediately blessed with the awful tasting sauce. Toppings tasted good, but the crust was completely undercooked. I would have happily waited longer for a fully cooked pizza! Tried putting it in the oven to finish the crust, but the toppings were too wet to make that possible. Definitely not worth the price paid. read more
