This time, we stayed at a nearby hotel and walked into the Galleria so we did not have to deal with traffic and parking. The last time we were here, our impression was that the mall was mainly upscale, expensive stores. In 2026, there are a lot more moderately priced stores that are intended not to be so exclusive. After walking around for a while, our main activity was for the kid to do ice skating. It is basically $20 for unlimited skating, although it has to be continuous. You can't leave and come back. The price includes skates but you have to buy socks if you did not bring any. She was not very good at skating to begin but got better and better as time went on. We were there about 1.5 hours and that was enough. The activity seems to be attractive for kids, teens, and even adults. There were even a few people who seemed professional level. The kid begged us to do skating again the next day so she obviously enjoyed it.

The Rockwall location is a little bit more updated, and the customer service was very good. The Plano location had a really rough sales person. I was in the store for a really long time before I was acknowledged, the sales person was just really busy on their phone. She wasn't very interested in selling, didn't suggest anything additional or offered to get me additional sizes, nothing like that. When it came time to check out, she jammed all of my purchases, five or six things, into a really tiny bag. I even walked out of the store, holding one in my hand because it didn't fit. It was just a weird interaction. I also paid in cash and was handed back a wad of rumpled cash and change, not at all the appropriate way to work a cash register.
