This is the person you are looking for. Fair pricing, in the business for a long time with an excellent reputation, and professional and friendly. And great communication too; he gets right back to you. When I was shopping around for a home air conditioning system, a large firm you hear on the radio all the time "dropped" the price of a new unit to $12,750. Dave, on the other hand, gave me a solid fair price for a high-quality unit for near half of that. He has no sales people to pay , or Radio advertising to pay so you get a fair price. I've had it for a couple years now and it is running beautifully. read more

Sad to say, but I do not recommend. Dave seemed great & very responsive at first - before I paid him thousands - but when my HVAC issue was not solved, he ghosted me - and - he doesn't honor his "3-year warranty." I have many many unanswered texts since June. He could have been more personable and checked the things I asked him to, but instead blew me off. As a female customer, I trusted him due to his quick responses & willingness to help - at first. Wish I'd gone with a more established company. read more

I had Hometown Heating and Cooling come out to replace all of our ductwork, including main and air handler return. David was very friendly, professional, efficient and extremely knowledgeable. When we were ready to have the work done, he was able to schedule work within 3 business days. He and his assistant arrived when they said they would be here, on time and without giving me long wait windows. The work was done in a shorter amount of time than he estimated, and they did an amazing job!! David went above and beyond, and his prices are the most reasonable out of 4 big company estimates. He also had to put in refrigerant into one of our units, and his price was so much more reasonable than any other company out there! Don't pass this small business owner up, he is worth hiring and you won't regret it! We will absolutely use him again. read more

The whole process was very professional from start to finish. Arrived early on day promised, protected whole work area and was very fast along with being thorough. Whole team worked as one unit. We had two air conditioning and furnace systems replaced. We were given all information and P/N of parts that would be used beforehand. Never pressured or up sold. We were given straightforward details of equipment warranty and our needs for a reliable HVAC system. We would have no hesitation in recommending Hometown heating and cooling. read more

Another awesome service experience from Dave. Excellent customer service, price, and technical knowledge.

When our air conditioner's compressor shorted in the beginning of the summer, we had a very difficult time finding anyone who could make an emergency call for us and come out right away. We did have one company come out who told us to replace the entire HVAC system (eek!). David made it to our house within half an hour of reaching him and let us know we only needed to replace the outdoor unit. He was very knowledgable and explained the whole process to us. We were very confident in the work he was providing and pleased with the quote. A few months later (the AC running almost non-stop), we realized the air flow around the house was just too weak. He came by to try to help by cleaning out the valves and recommended we change our air filter. Again, he educated us on the system and what to look for. The next morning, when I noticed the same problem still occurring, he quickly scheduled us for a replacement. He and his assistant always show up on time, if not early. They are quick and courteous... didn't even mind our dogs going up to say hi to them! We mostly appreciate gaining a better understanding of the work being done and how we can maintain the quality. Our review is accompanied by the fact that we will continue to use David's services! It is hard to find trustworthy & knowledgable help with home maintenance... we are thankful to have found Hometown Heating & Cooling. -Samantha & Bryce read more

David is hands down the best ac man I have ever used. He knows his stuff and his customer service is top notch. I have used him for one of my rentals and also at my house and he has done a fantastic job. He doesn't break the bank and treats you as if you have been friends for years. Very respectful and sincere I will be using him from now on. If you are tired of paying out the ears for sub par work give David a call and let him show you what real customer service and work is all about. He was referred to me by a good friend and has performed flawlessly just as my good friend said. read more

David and his crew are absolutely top notch!! They were able to fix in one day what another AC company wasn't able to for three weeks. With their excellent communication, promptness, and quality of work, they've set the bar incredibly high for others to meet. They even took their shoes off and laid down covers on the floors and carpets. Thanks again David for taking care of us and finally restoring our AC!! read more

These guys just installed my new Goodman condenser and heat pump. Their customer service is top notch. Their workmanship is second to none and their pricing will beat ANYBODY in the Hampton Roads area. Don't think you're getting less just because they're charging less. They're a local company with less overhead, but just as great service, then the "big box" companies. Go with Hometown for your HVAC needs. You won't be disappointed. read more

I give them 5 stars for the first time i called. They came out when they said they would and answered all of my questions. They charged a reasonable rate to fill the ac unit with coolant and advised to monitor performance. While they were here I saw they had a yearly service contract special for 99. This is where they failed. I have been trying to reach them to schedule a cleaning and left a few voicemails with no response for a while now. All that i get is a voicemail response saying they are with a customer and will return the call as soon as possible. read more

David showed up with one team member to troubleshoot our hvac within an hour and a half after I called. He found the problem and refilled our freon. He wasn't pushy, didn't try to sell me his maintenance contract, and he was very fairly priced. By the way, he only took 15-20 minutes. His quality of work and efficiency spoke for itself and made me a permanent customer! read more

We came back from vacation to a HOT house with a broken AC. I called Hometown Heating and Cooling at 8pm and the next morning at 8:30am they were here! Everyone else could not fit me in until 3 days later or even a week later. Not only were they professional, they did not overcharge me for a solution. My AC is still kickin' from 1989 and he didn't try and sell me a new one. He got me the right part so I could survive through this heat wave. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! read more

My A/C stopped working over Memorial Day weekend. I called Hometown at 8:00am on Tuesday morning, and they were at my house by 8:30am. They immediately diagnosed a blown capacitor, and spent roughly 20 minutes replacing the part and freon. After that they showed me how to assess the pipe to ensure there was no leak. Super reasonable pricing, fast service, and my A/C is working again! I have also had them out to fix several issues with my 25 year old heating system and they have been great. Most importantly not pushing me to upgrade to a new system when the old one is still chugging along just fine. I definitely recommend this company! read more

This is my first review online. I'm 78 years old so don't do computers but I did want to give my review on this company because they were so good. I'm on a fixed budget and when my cooling stopped last week I called around to try and get someone to fix it that would not cost an arm and a leg. The first company came out and you could tell they wanted top just sell me a new unit. I understand my ac is old but if it could be fixed I wanted to go that route. They said I needed freon but my unit used the old stuff and it would be several hundred dollars to fill it up. They said to find the leak would be 180 dollars and the freon would be 1200 or more. I called my son to see what he thought and he gave me Dave's number, the owner of hometown heating. he was real happy with him so I called him and he came out the next day. the system was empty of freon but Dave did a free leak check and there was a small copper line in the unit outside that had rubbed against another pipe and had a hole in it. He said he could braze it up and refill it with freon for 350 bucks. He said my system was old but looked in decent enough shape and was worth trying to fix, which he did. Its been running great and I could not be happier. There is no way I could afford a new unit and Dave understood this and did not make me feel bad about it. I will be passing along his number to all my friends and family. It only took an hour to get this all typed out but I owe it to every other senior out there on a fixed income and let them know there is still at least one honest guy out there who will help you any way he can. read more

Hometown heating and cooling I would highly recommend Hometown Heating and Cooling for a number of reasons, but I will share some specific points. I had six estimates scheduled for a new AC system (inside and out). My husband required i have a few Written estimates with the same services, and similar equipment before we took the plunge. When I called Hometown Heating and Cooling I got an immediate answer to my phone call. In addition to a live person answering my call, I got an immediate appointment time to have the written quote done. Hometown Heating and Cooling's price could not be beat! It was even a better value than the normal company we have gone with, over the past couple of years! After me and my husband talked about the various written quotes I had received (since he was deployed), my husband had to remind me twice, in one hour, to hurry and call Hometown Heating & Cooling to have a contract drawn, make the payment, and schedule the installation. Hometown Heating and Cooling scheduled installation for us right away! I loved how up to date with communication technology they are too! Scheduling was a plus, since our AC was completely out of order! Another thing I want to mention, is that they really helped us understand the options, and needs of our air condition installation. Because I am not the best at translating, that to my husband.....my husband gave them a call and they walked him through the needs of our system as well. I think the explanation process was a big sell for my husband too! This company has extra brownie points for its high level of professionalism and courtesy! I worked with the same person from start to finish! When you see these guys they are presentable and you don't get that "Sketchy Feeling," you sometimes get when you have an unfamiliar person in your house. They were also nice to my dog, and baby. They worked as quietly as they could, without being asked or told. They had their shoes covered, and I think they left my house cleaner, than prior to their arrival. after. You couldn't even tell outsidders had been in my house since they took all of their trash with them. So we scheduled 7:30 am installation. I saw the company truck in my driveway at 7:02am, they were our house by 7:22am, and they had the JOB COMPLETED and Out by 11:04 am! At 11:42am, my new system was kicking out a nice, cool, and refreshing feeling! Now that is service! We highly recommend this company, definitely worth viewing their website! There is no doubt in our minds, that they do the best they can each time, and have a high level of integrity when it comes to the quality of their service! read more

Would give 10 stars if I could. AC stopped working last night & after an uncomfortable night w/ 3 boys, a dog & a cat, called several larger, more familiar companies this morning, all of who could not come until 1 or 2 days later. Kept searching & saw Hometown H&C, and all the great reviews. David (the owner) answered, asked some questions, got my address & let me know he had another job close by, so he'd be here in about an hour. His diagnostic fee was lower than all other quotes, he found the problem & fixed it in less than 15 minutes total. The total bill was WAY lower than I expected. Can't recommend him & his company enough. So thankful he was able to help us so quickly. We'll never use anyone else for our HVAC needs. Thank you David & Hometown Heating & Cooling! read more

Had a problem with my A/C a couple of weeks ago. Started looking online at HVAC Company websites. Liked what I saw at HEATCOOL911.com. Left a message for them but decided to call another company. Big mistake. They sent someone out who said it was the control board and would be at least $850.00 to replace. Went to a local HVAC parts store, purchased the board for $65.00 and installed it myself in less than an hour. A/C blower fan in the house would still not run. In the mean time the company's salesman called me wanting to sell me a brand new unit. Explained the problem I was still having. They sent another guy out who said it was also the blower motor and would be $750.00 to replace. Called HEATCOOL911.com back and spoke to the owner Dave. He said he would come out the following morning and replace my blower motor for $250.00. Next morning Dave showed up with a helper right on time and had my A/C running in less than an hour. Could not be happier. If you live in Virginia Beach or Chesapeake and have HVAC problems do yourself a favor and call HEATCOOL911.com, you won't be sorry. Go to their website and see for yourself. Fair and honest. That's kind of hard to find these days. read more
