We have had a positive experience with Homeshield overall in terms of their product (making an appointment is easy, technicians are prompt and professional, we have seen positive results over the past year and find the quarterly refreshes to be useful). However they recently changed their company policy and require that the technicians take photos inside the home. This policy was changed without formally notifying us and is likely being implemented broadly. I have young children and do not allow unauthorized pictures in my home. They allowed me to opt out of photos but I feel the need to let others know about this policy in case anyone else is concerned about privacy / security. read more

We had a mole problem and initially had a really frustrating experience with HomeShield (no shows to appointments which turned out were never scheduled in the system, an unresponsive branch manager who never followed up with us, a promise of baits & traps that never happened, and the list goes on) BUT we were informed of a change in branch management and gave them another chance. After arriving home from out of town, we found that our home was overrun with fleas despite not having any pets. We were very stressed because we have a small child. Tevin from HomeShield Pest Control was very understanding. There was a slight hiccup with the spray they were going to use, but it was quickly resolved with the support of the branch manager Luis. Tevin and Luis walked with me throughout the house so I can show them the areas where we saw fleas. They were very communicative and explained to me the process and what we should expect in the coming weeks as far as eliminating the fleas.Tevin did a great job with spraying our home inside and out. We have not seen any fleas since coming back to the house the next day. Tevin even cleaned out the cobwebs on the exterior of the house. Tevin did a great job. I have a monthly service appointment to make sure the issue doesn't return. It's very easy to reschedule appointments if they conflict with my calendar. My regular technician Joaquin is extremely knowledgeable and responsible. He keeps me informed via text when he will arrive for the service. He is always friendly and pleasant to work with. Most importantly, he monitors the pest activity at my house and addresses any problems that may arise. Services rendered: We are on the second week of our gopher treatment in the front and back yards. We have one trap in the front and two traps in the back. Cost: The cost was $500 with our membership discount from using their quarterly standard pest treatment services (originally $600). $500 covers 4 weeks of gopher traps with weekly visits. Unfortunately, no gophers have been caught after one week of traps. I am hoping the company will install additional traps during the following week's appointment given the high cost of the service. Staff: Treatment 1 - During the first treatment, Tevin arrived on time a little after 8am but did not have the gopher traps. Therefore, two other staff came over 3.5 hrs later (technically still within the 8am - 12pm) but we were told the replacement staff would arrive between 9:30-10am since we had an appointment at 12pm. We had to end up leaving our gate unlocked for the gopher traps to finish being installed. Treatment 2 - Tevin arrived on time during the window. They quickly checked all three gopher traps within 10 mins. Tevin was professional and prompt. They also perform our quarterly pest spray treatment inside and outside the home. Recommendation: Would love to be called or texted 15-30 mins prior to arrival so that I have an adequate time to put the dogs away. And can also sleep in and/or not spend multiple hours waiting around if staff does not arrive at the beginning of the 4 hr service window. Request: Additional gopher traps read more
