If only sub zero stars were possible for this review! In September 2025, we paid Home Pro $15K to have a Kohler generator installed at our home. Big mistake! Months went by and no generator was installed. When they finally came out, Home Pro and their contractors committed a comedy of errors that resulted in more delays. They ran gas lines in the wrong place, wanted to install the generator in a location that wasn't even close to being within code, and we got excuse after excuse. When we began considering legal action and began telling them I wanted a refund, that is when they began to move on the installation. In late November 2025, the installation of the generator began, but they were not able to get it started. It wasn't until January 23, 2026 that they got the generator started! Lupe, the foreman for the job gave excuses and offered to throw in a surge protector and he and Home Pro never delivered on that promise either. As someone who has investigated fraud cases for decades, let me say DO NOT use this company for generator installation needs. They are an excuse factory and I could have contracted it myself and been far better off. Home Pro simply does not have the talent on staff to know how to install generators as well as other local companies. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with HomePro Technologies in Houston, TX. Without my knowledge or consent, I was automatically locked into a five-year contract with them through my homebuilder. On top of that, I was forced to lease equipment that was installed in my home -- no options, no transparency, and absolutely no say in the matter. Now that I'm relocating, I've discovered that I'm either required to continue their service at my new home (which I do NOT want) or pay over $500 just to get out of the contract -- even though I still have 15 months left. The fact that they tie unsuspecting homeowners into long-term agreements like this, with no clear disclosure and no real choice, is absolutely unacceptable. It feels predatory and exploitative. Homebuyers beware: Read every line of fine print and ask your builder what third-party contracts you're being locked into. I would never willingly choose to work with HomePro again, and I strongly advise others to think twice before getting involved with them. read more

I signed a 3-year contract with HomePro Security and specifically asked about moving. They told me everything would be taken care of, but now that I'm moving, they want to charge me over $250 just to remove and set up the system at my new address. When I asked about terminating my contract, they said I'd have to pay over $1,300 to get out of it. What a scam. Customer service was terrible - I spent over an hour on the phone and nothing was resolved. Please avoid this company and do not sign a long-term contract. I have a new build with Home Pro speakers in ceiling. Constant problems with the system going down and speakers or box for each zone not working! Customer service even WORSE!!!! This company was recommended by David Weekly Homes and has been a total disaster. No customer service, no technical support and really rude people. The install took all day and was done very poorly. We had issues with our home theater from the start. Faulting wiring etc. They came out once at the request of DWH and helped fix everything that the original installer failed to do. The naming for the living room with "Patio" making the HEOS app impossible to navigate. We had to wiggle the wiring on the woofer and make sure we didn't move the speaker to get it to work. You need a technical degree to work the universal remote which is 1980s technology. Now, the woofer went completely out and we are not able to access our cable provider. They charged us $300 to come out and tell us the speaker and cable port are fried and that it is not covered under warranty because it may be due to a storm we had. Even though they didn't install the speaker through a surge protector, it's still our fault. This is after they scheduled an appointment with us saying we were still under warranty. Shortly before the scheduled appt they called us and said "hitting the wrong button" was not covered under warranty and that would we would need to pay to get it fixed. I originally thought my wife might have hit the wrong button. Very rude and smart ass tone. We spent $3500 on this entertainment system 6 months ago and it will probably not work beyond one year. After reading the reviews on here I can tell we are not alone and will probably be cancelling our security service with them as well. Steer clear of HOMEPRO. Zero stars! read more

Update: Service has gotten worse (did not know that was possible). I had an issue with my system and contacted HomePro. This time instead of charging me to send someone to fix the issue, I was given the number to Control4's customer service line and told to ask them for help. Control4 then told me to speak to my dealer. Now my entire system is down over the weekend. This is a mess. Switching to a new dealer. I wish I could give this review zero stars, but the company gets one by default. I tried calling the person the "business owner" asked me to call. Even left a voicemail. Horrible service!! We have been using HomePro for the last few years. Every time we need a service request, they change the service time unexpectedly, and half the time don't even show up!! We recently moved and transferred our service. We payed to upgrade the panel in the new house. My husband told them exactly what we wanted and paid for the new panel. The tech comes out, thinks he's there to start new service(which had been done a month ago) and when he called his boss, was told not to install the new panel b/c we aren't new customers!! We recently moved so I called to cancel our service. I was told we only finished three years of our five year contract and to buy it out would be around $800. Instead of doing that we agreed to continue with the service at our new home, but they also told me that the rate would increase. I felt like we had to honor our contract, but Home pro did not because they increased the rate. We scheduled the service appointment with a window of 8 to 12. At 11:30 I received a message from the tech saying they would arrive at 12:45. I called the customer service number and I was 43rd in line. I then dialed Kedrick's extension and told him my concern. His solution was to reschedule. I explained that I did not have another day to take off work to do that and run the risk of spending a whole day waiting for a text to show up after my scheduled window. He said I don't know what you want me to do about it and that he offered me several solutions, which was really just to reschedule. I asked for a manager at that time and he said he was the manager. I explained to him that I thought he was rude and that the customer service that I was receiving was terrible. I said that if the tech was going to be late, they should've notified me well before the 30 minutes at the end of my four hour window. He said he agreed but offered no other solution than to reschedule which I did not have another day to do. read more

Home buyers in Amira beware! Perry Homes forces home buyers to use this awful company. Use them for as little as possible and get a competent company to come in later. Nothing HomePro installed for us works properly. The surround system requires constant manual input to work, and the security system had to be completely re-wired by a different company. We spent thousands on HomePro work, and we have had to pay thousands more to get things done correctly after the fact. Worst of all, though, HomePro representatives mislead you into signing up for a 5-year contract for monitoring the non-working security system that you can never break. The salesperson told us we could cancel after one year, but we tried and were told we would have to pay for the full 5 years, even though HomePro has not been our security system monitoring company for over 3 years. We stopped using them after about a month. If you are buying a home in Amira, use HomePro for as little as possible and do not sign up to use them to monitor your security system -- you will never be able to get out of it! read more

I regret to say that my experience with Home Pro has been extremely disappointing. The alarm and media systems are inadequate; they frequently go offline and often fail to work properly, which is unacceptable for products meant to enhance home security and entertainment. On top of that, the management and customer service have been horrible. When I reached out for support, I encountered unhelpful representatives who seemed uninformed and unresponsive to my concerns. This lack of effective communication only exacerbates the frustration with their faulty products. Overall, I cannot recommend Home Pro until they make significant improvements to both their systems and their customer service. We moved into a home that had an existing Home Pro security system. I called to see if we could get it activated and was told in no uncertain terms "we don't deal with renters". Well excuse me I'm not making changes or adding anything ....the system was already installed and in the home...and my landlord has no issues with us activating the system but we didn't even get that far. So if you're a homeowner thinking about installing with these guys you might want to consider after you move the system is worthless so anyone new WILL have issues. Regardless if they renting or buying. They don't stand behind their product. I guess their company philosophy in our case is if you get murdered in a home invasion " oh well they were just renters". No big deal. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I have been using Home Pro for 4 years. I tried to cancel at the end of my 3-year contract and was told that I have to give them "6 months" notice via cancelation form. That has to be mailed in. If I wanted to cancel I would have to pay for the full year that I did not agree too. I went through the process mailed in the cancelation form and called to confirm that they received my form. They confirmed. End of contract came, and I was charged again. When I called, they claimed never to receive my cancelation. I have no way to prove other than my word. If I cancel now I have to pay for the entire next year again. God save these people who can live with cheating people out of their money like this. I will be praying for them. I have never had an incident so I cannot say if it actually works or not but I can tell you that if this is how they treat their costumer's I doubt they will help when you need it most. read more

I am not at all surprised that this place has such horrible reviews. You can never get in touch with anyone, the receptionist and the sales extension lines ring forever. Our sales guy Corbin did not thoroughly explain what we needed. We originally wanted the whole surround sound and he showed us that vs just the regular speakers and we told him what we wanted which was the package. Thinking we were getting that and paid 2k for whatever I don't even know, now I am missing a center channel speaker. Corbin said all we needed was a receiver and that I could purchase at Best Buy. After that day of signing I never heard from Corbin again, I would call and call and you can't even leave a message. One day I decided to show up and the receptionist and Corbin was just in the front chit chatting. Customer service here is horrible. HomePro is definitely a scam business. When I first spoke with the representative of HomePro Operating, LLC, he told me that I could cancel the service at any time. However, after I have relocated to other state. HomepPro is not allowing me to cancel my subscription. They only have an option to transfer the service to the new home owner, and they said that it was my fault to move to other place???. I have no control over the homeowner's decision. Now, they are wanting $900 dollars to cancel the service which is the 22 months of service left. If they had told me that it was impossible to cancel the service without paying penalty, I would not have gotten it in the first place. HomePro moved up the install of our doorbell camera - and they were no shows. My security system and cameras are still going in and out service and no one wants to come out to help me. I'm supposed to troubleshoot and crawl in my attic and pull out ladders to test the system for them. read more

Please see my initial email from 11/14/22: Attention HomePro Warranty Department: After closing and moving into our new build with Kendall Homes, our internet technician advised us that the conduit we had previously purchased during our sales meeting had not been installed. While my husband and I deliberately purchased the conduit for our internet connections as well as the surround sound system and patio speakers through HomePro, the technician from our internet company ran the fiber without the conduit from the dmark to the patch panel in the master closet. We were not present during the initial wiring process; however, I was present for the surround sound installation by technician Joseph Frank. During this process, Joseph advised that he would make note on the account to communicate the issue to all necessary parties. Additionally, I reached out to the Houston sales office on October 10, 2022, and was placed on hold for an extensive period of time before the call was disconnected. Unfortunately, there was no attempt to return my call in order to resolve the issue. This information was also provided to HomePro sales associate, Cristian Villicana, during a meeting we had for additional security system through HomePro. He too, advised that the information would be passed along. To date, no HomePro representative has been available to assist in this matter. In contacting your corporate office on 11/14/22, I was advised to contact the warranty department in order to receive a refund for the two conduit installations, or lack thereof. I have attached a copy of our initial contract from our sales meeting, which includes the amount paid for each conduit. We kindly request the $590.00 refund, as this service was not completed by HomePro as initially contracted. MR. If I would give home pro zero stars I would. I spoke to (443) 398-0465 (Bob Vri) and had a tone because I wanted to cancel my service and go with a different security system. I told him I called the main number and could not talk to anyone. Their customer service is none existent. I see why people give them bad reviews since their customer service is out the window. You have " 3 Days" to cancel if not they will charge you $300 for cancellation or more. Bob threatened if I did not pay the $300 he would send me to the credit bureaus and I was going to call him begging him to pay?! What kind of customer service do these people have?!!!! Totally waste of money poor service, cheap quality. No guarantee it's gonna work or not. First month runs OK after it the service is very bad. My doorbell is been off for six months. It was overheating it it was never replaced. I called in for service they told me it will cost me $100 for an hour to come in and fix the problem. Cameras don't work at all. monthly is $50. it's not worth buying cameras or doorbell from them. They will not provide you any service on that. If it's not working, it is not their responsibility. The only thing they will monitor is your keypad. Especially if you have a kids home, I do not recommend this service because your camera is going to be off all the time. read more

Hi JC, I have already paid the $500 to close the account. I did not write my review based on a single contact with HomePro; I have been trying to resolve this issue since January. I've spoken to both Bob and Marjorie multiple times, and neither were empathetic (Bob actually told me I should be happy with $500 vs $800). I am writing this because future customers need to understand that once they sign up with HomePro, it will be impossible to cancel the contract even due to unforeseen circumstances. Having to move to an assisted living facility is emotional for my parents (both have always been fiercely independent); the last thing they should be worrying about is $500 for services they will not use. Homepro was the outfit use by my home builder to set up security, cameras, and speaker system (surround sound) in the new home. Overall they were good to work with. The setup appointment went well- Nick Lee worked with us and I didn't think he was pushy or try to over sell us. The product and service is expensive- so do be mindful of that when you work with them. You need to remember to call early to set your install date-- they never seem to have appointments that are next day or even the same week-- once we closed on our house and moved in we had to wait 2 weeks before we could get someone out to install our equipment. The installation techs were great- Anderson was on point and very open and informed about the set up. Him and his coworker worked neatly and cleaned up. Anderson even re organized my wire connection box so that everything was neat and together (compared to Comcast and enTouch who just threw their stuff in there and wires were everywhere) I had some connectivity issues with my internet and the speaker system so I need to work with Comcast to get it fixed. I was able to loop in Homepro with the conversation and all together we were able to get the problem solved! I huge huge thanks to Chris Roth from HomePro who really took the time to work with me and help solve the connectivity issues! If it wasn't for him and his thoughtfulness and desire to help- I probably wouldn't be able to use the system I paid a lot of money for! It was nice to get support from the company and Chris versus them just telling me to go "figure it out" on my own. I have my second appointment tomorrow to finalize everything - so hopefully it goes smoothly-- either way things haven't been very smooth- but I feel like I have had the right support from Homepro to get it solved so I get the right final results. read more

Fast forward 1 year later, they have not installed any of them but we have an appointment for media room and music package. I've called twice to speak with someone that can help and I was told the supervisor will call me back...still waiting to get a call from Kedrick. I called 3 weeks ago to let HomePro know that my doorbell camera was not working. The tech person on the phone said to unplug it, wait for it to turn off and plug it back in. I did that, didn't work to fix the problem. I called back the next day and they scheduled an appointment for me. The soonest, 2 weeks out (12.10.22). I had no choice, so agreed to it. No one showed up or called. Here we are, 12.12.2022 and no one has called or showed up. I sent a text to my rep (I bought a Perry Home) and he didn't do anything about it either. Has not responded. Beware, I don't recommend HomePro. I'm looking to see how I can get out of the contract and find a vendor who has better customer service. read more
