He helped me get prequalified very quickly and walked me through each step since it was my first time applying for a mortgage. Vance was able to find me a mortgage with interest rate of 3.0% which is much better than I was expecting. Once I had found a home, Vance also kept me informed about what was happening with the finances at each step of the home buying process and would call to walk me through the paperwork with each new step in the process. He definitely made the home buying process much easier and I would recommend him to anyone looking to finance a home!

I showed up to closing and over $3000 was missing from what I expected to get back. The numbers he provided me did not match what I was showing that morning. He had the updated numbers days prior. I did not share them with me. He and I were in communication during that time, and he said nothing. It was unprofessional, and these actions came from the branch manager, which is laughable. I've shared this with many other veterans and on veteran social media pages. I reached out to Barrett Financial multiple times and I never heard back. They don't care about the little guy.

We have been a customer of Desert Schools Federal Credit Union for over 25 years. Love the banking…read moreside, have had many loans with them through out the years. This time we thought we would apply for a HELOC. I ask myself ... do people listen? What is wrong with people today. We have been trying to refinance our home into a HELOC. The delays of communication are awful. Each time we'd call them, we always talked to someone else, not the person working on the file. Then, would need to explain that we are self employed, we want to pay off only these two accounts. Leave the others alone, we pay those off monthly, etc. We make this much as being self employed and told them over and over how much we made. When we went to the branch near us to sign, the poor girl signing us had to call them three times, paperwork had to be re-done, we left and returned an hour later, then the amounts were still wrong, but waited for them to correct. We never did get the right income down for my husband. We did finally get it signed and closed but what a big hassle!! Would I recommend them? Not sure, if you are not self employed, it may be easier, if you have a lot of credit to ratio income, no. We did do the HELOC at Christmas time too. Lots of times someone was out of the office ... sick or vacation. Not a good time to refinance. And the girl that signed us, said this: BE SURE IT SHOWS IN YOUR ACCOUNT BEFORE YOU TRY TO PAY ANYTHING!!

I would like to alert the public about a terrible business practice being done by dessert financial…read morethat has left myself and 2 other families literally homeless. They act like you are doing a loan with them but are outsourcing all FHA loans through a company called NewRez to actually do all processing and underwriting. We have been working with Cory Talbert at Desert financial Who advised all parties loans had gone through. We all moved out out of our homes only to find out the loan was not processed at all. This left us with U-Haul's packed up and no Home to live in. instead of rectifying the solution he asked for another three week extension. Upon the clothes of the three week extension, May 22, we were alerted that they underwriting still had not completed processing the loan efforts and we were stuck again, not knowing anything other than it's not his fault and they outsourced to NewRez. This Company also fails to respond or take responsibility accountability. We are all still homeless with no concrete closed date provided. I'm gonna recommend anyone that I know to stay away from these two companies as they are not reliable and will end up costing me money in the long run.

We don't owe much and we took of the interest rates when they were down to 2%, so we would not be willing to refi to get another company. I was scared. The transfer process was a breeze. It was easy to create an online account and make payments. Our escrow went through the roof for 2025. I was thinking they are doing something not good due to the reviews I read. I spoke with a kind lady who checked on our escrow account to see what was going on for 2025. I knew it wasn't our taxes, as our assessor showed they actually were going down. She did some research. Because I was holding for a bit, I was disconnected automatically. I was thinking "Here begins the nightmare!" She called me back in seconds. She let me know our insurance was going up over $1300 this year. She went above and beyond getting the information, and was kind the entire time. So far so good. Mind you this was 5:30pm in the Arizona evening, and I was still able to speak with customer service. Very happy. They do try to resolve as many issues online or with the automated system. I still was able to get to a rep as those options would not be able to help me answer my question. Less than 10 minutes and I was all set.
