I'm so disappointed in the change in experience with Stewardship. It seems the service is exemplary if you are a new client or if you need a new service, but if you are an established client prepare to be neglected and take on a lot of the work yourself. Two years in a row we've had challenges with our homeowners insurance policy and it seems they always have an excuse as to why it was not their fault. Twice now we've received letters from our mortgage companies stating the policies expired and no proof of insurance had been provided, leaving us with a higher cost premium because the mortgage defaulted to providing us coverage. This time around, I was proactive and contacted Stewardship to ensure our policy was renewed. I did not receive any response. After almost two weeks, I contacted them again and was informed that they did not receive any requests from the mortgage company for renewed coverage and they were unaware my policy had expired (I thought as the insurance broker it was Stewardship's responsibility to manage this, not mine or my mortgage. I'm confused now as to what their role is exactly because frankly I've done much more work on my end at this point than they have). Finally, I received a response indicating the renewed policy had been sent to our mortgage company. When I requested a copy of the declarations page, I was then informed by a different person at Stewardship that, in fact, my policy is expired. This time the excuse was "payment was not received." I never received any communication from Stewardship about any issues until I reached out to them. If they were having issues with payment should they not have kept me informed? And in the meantime, my home has been completely unprotected for (it turns out) months. If something had happened, we would be up a creek without a paddle. For a company that touts a compassionate concern for the families they serve, we were distressingly let down repeatedly, and left unprotected. read more
