Several years ago used Homecraft for window replacements, that experience was great so didn't hesitate calling for this project. Homecraft replaced sliding on my townhome, did a excellent job and the color almost matched perfectly! I wanted to note that not everything went perfect but they were professional and responsive. There was an issue with the job site not being as clean as I thought it should. After I questioned this, to my surprise because I didn't request it, someone came out immediately to clean-up. For the remainder of the job, this wasn't an issue. There was another instance when one of the workers got sick so they weren't able to come out that day. We invited Homecraft to install a new Provia front door. This was our 2nd time using them. We used them several years ago to install a Provia front door and to replace siding and fascia. Our first experience with this group was fantastic. This one - awful. We knew going in that the door would take some time to manufacture. It was supposed to be in back in the middle of June. On Sept 9, the job was finished. The quality of the door and the work done was very good. The quality of the service from the office was awful. Their management of the delay and their ability to get their represented manufacturer to work professionally was non-existent. I would not recommend this company at this time. read more

The people from Homecraft were great to work with. The pricing was good, they had the windows I was looking for and they have a very strong/long track record. Overall best value. They did a great job with scheduling. Showed up on time and completed in two days. Very professional and kept everything clean as they worked. Worked with minimal disruption and hardly knew they were here. Also helped me with an unscheduled repair as a result of some wind damage before they left. Super helpful. read more

My husband and I were looking to have all new siding, windows and front doors installed so we reached out. The representative Mike was sent out and when he entered my home I explained what we wanted however was very dismissive (I assume because I am a woman or possibly because he thought the price would be too much since I appear younger than I am). I asked him to measure our windows downstairs (our young son just had open heart surgery so we are being extra cautious) and if he could provide a quote using those specs. We knew it'd be a rough quote bit that's all we needed at that point. I left him to it and went upstairs to check in my daughters who are homeschooling and he was gone without even a goodbye. I had only been upstairs for all of ten minutes. I followed up a week later asking for the quote and he rudely put it on me that I had to pick out everything from catalogues he left me which was never explained to me.... regardless I then emailed him a very detailed list of what we want which included pictures from the catalogues and page numbers. The email I got back was: "There some things you have asked for is not available But I have worked up some pricing. Right now we are looking at $50,000. If you need more detailed quote we need to get together. Michael" Which I responded: Thanks. That is not far from what we expected. Yes, please. Can you provide a breakdown of costs and what items are not available?  Are the items discontinued or just not available right now? We want to see what we are paying for. It's a big project for us. We have two other contractors we are gathering quotes from and they gave us a breakdown of costs which is helpful to see when making a decision." That was on March 31 and haven't heard back. My husband and I have saved for a long time to get the work done so we opted instead to take our saved $50,000 cash elsewhere to someone who actually wants the work and our money. read more

Their "salesman" just left. I just purchased a condo and need one large window replaced. Home Craft came recommended by some of the people that live in my development. Why, is my question! Once the "salesman" arrived and I explained about the window he exclaimed, "Oh thats a problem" "We have a set up charge for your colors and it would be to expensive to do just one window, you need all of them replaced at the same time." I explained I didn't have that kind of money and just wanted to replace the 1 bad window with a broken seal before winter. He basically walked away from a job because he couldn't get the big bucks from me. HORRIBLE customer service in my opinion. read more

This company has lots of problems. First and foremost, their estimates do not hold water AT ALL. I had my gutters replaced, and the entire episode was a hot mess from start to finish. They missed the fact that I had wood rot under the roof where the gutters are attached. Now why did they miss this? Because they didn't go through a thorough estimation process and get up on a ladder and checking ANYTHING out! Shoddy to say the least. So now I've got the estimate, but they need to add the replacement of the wood onto it. Yep, so we're looking at another $1200 on top of the gutters. They eventually settled for a lower number, but only after I yelled at everyone from the company I could think of calling. But, I really love the fact they found the wood rot AFTER they had torn down my gutters. I call it the Clark Griswold syndrome. You have to get it replaced because you have absolutely no choice. Now the workmanship I experienced was just fine. Its one guy and over 2 days he completed it all by himself. He did a fine job, but unfortunately for him, by then I was just done with his company. I would stay away from these guys unless its a last resort. read more

A 15 foot piece of siding that Homecraft installed a number of years ago came loose and was hanging down, and a small piece of insulation fell off. I asked them to come out and reattach it. I actually had to call twice to get them to come out. They did tell me there would be a fee. One man came out but he didn't provide an estimate. He took 15 minutes to re-attach the insulation and siding. No new materials were required. Nevertheless Homecraft wants to charge me $249 for the re-attachment. This is obscene, outrageous and unreasonable. Avoid this company. read more

We stopped bothering to call for other quotes since other contractors used to take one look at our Awkward old house and never called back. Five years ago Homecraft did a large job for us - new underlayment, new roof, new windows, new siding, new shutters. Plus labor. Obviously a costly job. Five years later, the shutters have faded and look worse than the 35 year old shutters they replaced. Homecraft takes NO responsibility whatsoever. Alcoa, who manufactured the shutters, takes NO responsibility. When the consumer spends $$$ on a job, there should be accountability on the part of the company - in this case Homecraft. They are willing to take your money but forget their responsibility and accountability. read more

Was very pleased with the work Homecraft did on my house. After a hail storm, I had lots of damage. They worked with me to schedule the repairs and did a beautiful job. I had almost 20 windows replaced and they left the house in the same shape they found it. Since I have white carpet all through the house, I was expecting lots of dirt. The workers were respectful, and cleaned up any mess they made. They took off their shoes in my house and I appreciated that! The windows look beautiful and I am pleased with the results. The siding work was done in one day and matches the older siding perfectly. Konrad helped me select the right roof color and the new roof looks better than the original. Overall, I am very pleased with their work, their ability to work around my schedule, and their respect for my home. Would definitely recommend them to others. read more

Not happy with sloppy installation of my windows. The installers listened to their cell phone music the whole time they were here - it was loud enough I could not hear my TV on my day off from work. I had to have someone else from the company come out the next day to fix what the two guys the day before messed up. THEN when I went to pay my balance using my debit/credit card - they overcharged me on my debit card by over $900.00! They claimed it "was an honest mistake". So now I will have all of these overdraft fees because of them. The window materials feel and look cheap to me compared to other windows I have seen. Cheap plastic window lifts and framing. The window lifts are roughly cut and badly needed sanding - it looked like a child cut them out. No smooth edges anywhere on any of the window lifts. The caulk they use has such a strong smell - three days later and the house still smells bad from it - very strong chemical smell. When I asked what they were using they said it was just caulk and if I wanted low odor caulk I should have requested it before they came out. I have had work done by plumbers in the past and have never smelled anything this strong. It actually burns your nose and throat. They also cracked my window trim in several places, and when I said I wasn't happy about that (I had just painted 2 years ago using quality paint at $53 a gallon (Benjamin Moore) they said I was responsible for touching up any damaged wood from an installation. The screens didn't sit flush with the window frames either. They told me the 1/8" gap on the one side of both windows was so water could drain out when it rains. Seriously!!! They are also very poor at customer service in returning any calls. They call you fast enough to get a credit or debit card number for you - but call for an installation date estimation or when you have an issue with their shoddy work or anything else - don't hold your breath. They don't even answer any emails either. I would not recommend Homecraft to anyone for anything even if they cut their prices in half. Their prices were high too. I should have listened to my employer who said they were very high - but I needed two windows replaced and a family member had used them and were OK with what they got. I should have read the other reviews on line for myself first. read more
