Here are a few moments we did not like. - The quote was 40% higher than every (6) other quote we got. Yes, I'm the bozo who believed they would do a better job on the roof, communication and cleanup. - They were unwilling to provide/send the presentation to us so that we could re-review it (should have been the first red flag). - The dumpster was left in our driveway for 3 more days than we were told. Who doesn't love a dumpster of trash blocking their driveway over the weekend. They did put wood blocks under the dumpster to protect the driveway which we did ask about and appreciate. - The cleanup was horrendous. We notified the company at least three times that there were nails still left scattered all over the yard. To their credit, they did come back out to clean but what a half butt job to the point we had to incur the cost of buying our own magnetic lawn sweeper. Subsequent cleanups included paper, plastic, nails (on the ground and on the roof), cigarette butts and broken shingles from the old roof. Nails were both old nails and new nails. - During the presentation we specifically asked if they used sub-contractors. They said they did not and if you go with them then you will find out what's accurate. If you are picky, hope this helps, make your own decision based off of your own experience. It was decided to go with a different company for other properties.

So when i saw their fleet of trucks decend on my street a few years back, efficiently and respectfully doing a neighbors roof, I decided I was going to jettison my old roofer and hire BHC. BHC is a very well run, responsive, personable, respectful, and conscientious business. They come when they say they will, do only what's needed, and provide fair value for their services. The workers are straight forward in their explanations, taking photo evidence of the roofing conditions to share with the home owner. They discuss what needs to be done right away and explain the options available, which is good to have if working with a budget. They follow up with reminders if the roof is coming due for maintainence which is a nice service. Outta sight, outta mind is human nature, so i appreciate the reminders for recoats, etc. The roof is not something to leave to chance, especially with the crazy weather experienced lately ( strong winds, hail, torrential rainfall, etc). I recently had a clogged downspout (from some tree debris) that was pooling water on the roof and BHC was out within a few days of my call. No job is too small when it comes to their customers. I sincerely appreciate that kind of respect and service. I am so glad I found BHC Roofing! From the back office to their actual project team, every step of the journey has been dealt with efficiency and professionalism. The team arrived at our house at 7 am and they were in the process of cleaning up by 11 am. During the process, there was minimum noise and they were very honest about the roof conditions in terms of what part of the decking needed to be replaced and what looked good. We've been dealing with different contractors in the past several years due to our moving around. BHC Roofing is definitely one of the better contractors. Highly recommended!

Tom reliably showed up to give an estimate for gutter work on the roof of my house. He gave a price…read moreof $5,000 to replace all gutters and guards, as well as to clean the downspouts. That seemed like a lot of money for a day's work, but I said 'So be it' to myself. He added that the price might be higher if he had to buy new wood and metal to do the job well. He then said that he would be 'hands-on' but, as soon as he dropped off his workers, he left the job and didn't come back. When he returned days later, he told me that I owed him another $2,200. When I balked at this, he got testy and, so, lowered the additional charge to $1,700 ('because I want to work for you again,' he said). I challenged him to itemize the extra costs. He said that the additional wood was $300 and the additional metal was $500. I asked what accounted for the other $900 that he was demanding. 'Additional labor costs,' was his answer. I pointed out that his initial price had to have included the laborers' pay for the day - and they finished the job before 5 pm. Tom started sulking; then he became irate: 'Just give me the $5,000 - forget the rest.' It was a good ploy. I felt sorry for him, so I wrote a check for $6,000 - not the $7,200 that he wanted nor the $6,700 that he then proffered as a compromise. A qualified professional, who knows my house, said that $5,000 for new gutters and general maintenance of the system was a very high but not completely unreasonable charge for the work. But Tom's demand for an additional $2,200, then $1,700, was, this professional said, outrageous: 'He saw that you willingly paid the $5,000, so he figured that he could extract another couple of thousand from you.' I liked Tom personally but regret paying him what I did. I urge, then, whomever might hire him to be strong in negotiating about the job - and not to give in to his emotional ploys to price gouge.

I hired Tom and crew to perform repair of cedar siding and paint our sizable house. A tree hit my roof back in January of 2024. And I had Jim come by in April and give me a quote. And…read morethe quote was very reasonable, far less than I expected. Unfortunately, the insurance company played a lot of games and I was only able to hire Jim for the job a year latter. In June after re quoting the job in May But No surprise there with tariffs And inflation? It did go up, but not nearly as bad as I was afraid. I told Jim I didn't want him to start till the tree surgeons had cut down all the other giant trees. I didn't want any more things falling on the House. And so he showed up 2 days after the tree guys perfect timing. And his guys completed the job in 3 days. First of all, it's lasted through some hellacious rainstorms. And now that I have gutters and everything's well ordered and set up. I had no water in my basement. There were no leaks in the roof, Of course that's what you expect, but life has taught me that that's not what you always get, but it did the job perfectly one less worry off my mind. Jim's men worked quickly and professionally in the incredibly hot weather, I was impressed at the effort they put out. The craftsmanship was first class as this house had been reroofed in 1980 and everything else was from 1946 a bit worn. So there was a lot of little. Things that needed to be straightened out and righted. When he was finished. Everything looked fantastic, all the soffits and fascia. And gutters and downspouts match the actual color of the house better than I could even hoped. And. When they were done, everything was cleaned up. There was no debris or nails or things like that floating around. So I was very pleased with the quality of the work and the craftsmanship was extremely neat, They also had to replace some siding. And. You wouldn't even know it was not ceader but fiber cement. The other positive as my house took other damage from the Tree and after dealing with a bunch of contractors to replace a porch and a. Garage. I can say Jim shows up on time. He's professional. His quotes are reasonable and he is easy to work and does what he says. more so than anyone else I've dealt with in the last year and a half.
