Eventually my mother's application was approved, but 4 months later we received a penalty notice which stopped the Medicaid payments for 6 1/2 months. When I first sent the notice to the worker she thought it was just a routine form letter until the nursing home confirmed that it was not. After paying all of the money to the company I no longer have confidence that they are Medicaid experts and have needed to spend more money to hire an Elder Care Certified Attorney to file the appeal. It seems that it would be much better to hire Certified Elder Care Law Firms in your state rather than a nationwide organization that has paraprofessionals handling such important matter.
