Loads of space for loads of stuff.

The Home2Suites and the Tru are two halves of the same hotel. Yes, it's a bit confusing... but we figured it out. Talk about location, location, location... Opposite the best pizza place in town, just across the Courtyard hotel car park from the best sushi in Ogden and steps from historic 25th street and Union Station. If you choose your room well, you will even get a view of the beautiful Wasatch mountains. In all honesty, we used to live in Ogden and I never needed a place to stay, but having stayed in another Home2 before I thought I knew what I was getting - and I was right. The building is just a couple of years old, so everything is shiny and new. The people are lovely and the brekkie is great with lots to choose from. We didn't use the gym or pool, but they looked nice. The rooms have pretty much everything you need. Soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion in the bathroom. Nice towels. Large vanity to put all your stuff. The room had acres of storage space. Cupboards and drawers galore. The kitchen has a small apartment fridge (but larger than under the counter), standard size microwave above the sink and plates, water glasses, cups, cutlery etc. You might find all of that stuff hiding in the dishwasher. They seem to wash everything - every time. Niggle: I really despise those awful coffee makers with the pouch coffee. Please give us a pod or an old fashioned Mr. Coffee... (pretty please). The one star deduction is for the noisy neighbors - not the noise per se. The folks weren't playing loud TV or music, they were really just conversing a bit loudly, but something about the wall where it connected to the outside wall wasn't right (like the insulation or drywall didn't go all the way to the outside wall) and we could hear everything they said... until 1am. That said, if we needed a place to stay in Ogden I'd definitely come back here, I'd just pick a different room.

They have renovated the lobby and rooms at some point, so gone are the orange and brown tones and the colors are now light blues and whites. The front desk agents who checked us in were both new, but really friendly and helpful, plus they were professionally dressed and looked nice. We ordered food to go from the Bistro and it was perfect Courtyard fare. This hotel's location is ideal for the Ogden Twilight concerts and walking around downtown in general. WiFi was great and I was able to work in my room and also in the cafe in the morning.

Called in the AM and were informed "someone should have told you when you checked in our air conditioning is down". Except it wasn't down it was only down in the guest rooms. Contacted the front desk because we were not informed of this at any point prior to check in or when checking in. It was mid-80s during the day to the point where we had to leave the small cracked window open (with not screen so this was not possible at night due to bugs flying in) and the door to the hallway open while they hosted a Narcotics Anonymous event all weekend downstairs while traveling with kids. It was at least 90 in the room during the day and mid 80s overnight we couldn't sleep and kept waking up. We traveled out of state for a job for our teen daughters who assist at a convention and everywhere within the vicinity was sold out so we couldn't move hotels. I tried to get the management to refund us part of the nightly rate and they refused and gave us a "generous" 7000 bonvoy points "toward a future stay." So I have to spend more money so hopefully the next franchise treats us better. Ridiculous. Never again and probably never in a Marriott again since they aren't corporate controlled anymore each individual property manager can choose how they treat their guests.

By the time they brought in fans to the luncheon, most everyone was done eating. The luncheon itself wasn't even set up on time (tables, chairs, ect). The food was wonderful since it was catered. The "kitchen" area was dirty and when told to get water from the sink (For my mother) there was dried puke in it! The hotel staff were rude and threatened to kick people out just for asking to have things taken care of. The parking (or lack of) was horrible! Most everyone had to park and walk, in the heat, to the hotel several blocks in order to not be towed from the parking they did have! I'm hoping my niece and her spouse were too happy to notice any issues! I DO NOT recommend this place unless a TON of things have been fixed!

Paid top dollar to stay in a motel that is literally falling apart around us. The nicest part of the place are the ceilings in the lobby. Front desk staff was lovely - but I tripped twice on the carpet walking out of the bathroom that wasn't secured down - too OLD. Paid extra for a breakfast that was non existent. Didn't dare shower. Total bait and switch and a lawsuit just waiting to happen. Get it together Bigelow! You can't have a "fully renovated" historic hotel without updating your rooms. It's just not safe and I would never recommend staying here, EVER! I couldn't bring myself to take more pictures because I was so upset.

Hotel is in good conditiion and clean with two sitting areas and a business center in the lobby. A…read moresmall indoor pool, good size gym and guest laundry facilities available. Plenty of parking with handicap permit and Diamond Member spots near the door. Covered portico for loading and unloading your vehicle. Hallways and rooms are carpeted. Room vestibule is a hard surface floor. The fridge, microwave, ice and coffee are in this area as well as two hooks and a small shelf. The room has a good size built-in luggage rack that will fit 2 small suit cases or one large. The desk area with lamp was a good size with a comfortable chair. The chaise lounge is comfortable and will fit 3 people side by side. That side table was very useful. The King bed was too soft for my preference. Felt like I was in a divit. Large fluffy pullows in a variety of soft and firm. Sheets are soft and comfortable. Aircon controls are inside the unit. It was a bit loud but not outrageous. Everything was clean and tidy. Two roll up/down shades: outer one for privacy lets the light through while the inner one completely blocks out the light. Bathroom looks updated with a large walk in shower enclosed by two rolling glass doors. Bath mat is on the door mounted towel rod/handle. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are mounted inside the shower. There is also a small shelf for your personal care items plus a large safety bar. Plenty of vanity space. Lotion and hand soap are mounted on the wall. No small soaps. Three bath towels, two face and hand towels are soft and absorbant. The faucet is installed so far away from the sink, water barely falls into the bowl and everytime it is used makes a wet mess on the vanity. Toilet is clean, worked well and had two rolls of tp. Tissues on the vanity. Towel rack over the toilet. The breakfast area, behind doors when out of service, is well organized with entrances/exits on each end. Six hot food options were available during our Monday morning visit. Veg/egg white omlette, egg and cheese omlette, sausage links, turkey sausage, biscuits and gravy. Oatmeal with some add ins, cold cereal, fresh fruits, juices, fridge with milk, yogurt and cream cheese take up the back wall. The front wall is a pancake maker with fixins, bagels, bread and muffins near the toasters and jellies. Coffee, available throughout the day, is made by a machine on demand and takes a minute to pour. This is a strong brew. Decaf and hot water are available from the machine as well. Tea and cocoa are on a seperate counter next to the two coffee machines where you will find creamer during non-breakfast hours and half and half is added during breakfast service. A line quickly formed at the coffee station during breakfast. A variety of seating is available in the breakfast area with one TV showing news throughout the day. A local newspaper is available here as well. Staff were pleasant. A small store offers snacks, energy drinks and the like. Soda machines are located on each floor between the elevator and ice machine. One elevator seemed enough for this three story hotel.

Gorgeous location and property. A decent place for a simple getaway. However, I cannot in good…read morefaith recommend the Alaskan as an event space. Communication was almost nonexistent. Be prepared to have to travel to their lobby (on weekends) in order for questions to be answered or details confirmed; my emails were never answered, only texts intermittently. Management was very unprofessional at times and lacked ability to fully complete tasks (ex: my father had to inquire more than once, retrieve, wipe down, and set up the chairs 3 hours before he had to walk me down the aisle because it was not done by staff in the morning as guaranteed by the General Manager (GM) the day before. Later, there were not enough chairs for dinner- when the GM was presented with the problem, the response was negligent even though it was confirmed weeks prior we'd have more chairs than guests 'just in case'.) The staff and GM also helped themselves to our reception dinner despite there not being an agreed upon clause in the contract to include them in our catering count or consent given day of by the paying party. The guests and wedding party were also filmed without permission- when I asked the GM for that footage to be deleted, my request was met with defense and guilt tripping; which somehow after I left included a (unbeknownst to me) very inappropriate and immature text from the GM to my new husband seeking pity and complaining about me (lol). Our card was charged by the owner without any notice before or after the transaction. We were supposed to discuss my invoices for the cake and floral before the second deposit was due in order for the next payment to be reflected with the deductions in the package, never happened even after multiple attempts. It wasn't until almost a week after our event and some hassle that we got the fees back for the cake and floral. If I'd have known the bridal room was going to be the massage room in between clients and not a guest room in the lodge as spoken about previously, I would have instead gotten ready in my cabin. Although it's listed as a provided accommodation, it took multiple conversations with management morning of to simply get the keys for it. There is also definitely not enough space anywhere on the property to comfortably host a close to 100 person gathering. In all, we had a pleasant time focusing on what mattered most- our people and our wedding day. Had the unnecessary speed bumps (including other unethical staff to guest interactions unmentioned here) not occurred, the day would have definitely been more seamless and less stressful. I'm taking the time to create this review more so as a forewarning to fellow/future brides. The 'team' here is more proficient in the hotel experience category than competently providing a wedding or larger event venue. Approach and proceed with diligence.
