I've stayed at this Courtyard several times in the last few years and have always had a good experience. They have renovated the lobby and rooms at some point, so gone are the orange and brown tones and the colors are now light blues and whites. The front desk agents who checked us in were both new, but really friendly and helpful, plus they were professionally dressed and looked nice. We ordered food to go from the Bistro and it was perfect Courtyard fare. This hotel's location is ideal for the Ogden Twilight concerts and walking around downtown in general. WiFi was great and I was able to work in my room and also in the cafe in the morning. read more

Nice lobby, friendly staff. But the room was extremely weird! The slider that would typically open to a window opened to a wall with a door! Bizarre. We could hear music behind it. So, no natural light, no view. It was depressing. We were here for only one night, so we would have asked to switch; but why wouldn't the gal at the front desk give us a heads up? Also, a wet towel on the floor in the main room by our bed? Eww! Also, coffee set up was sparse (one creamer). We travel a ton, Marriotts are not our first choice for we often come across odd things about the rooms or stay. We were desperate this time to find a hotel, so we ended up here. This hotel was so lovely and it's in a great location. The downstairs lobby and everything there looks amazing, but go upstairs to the rooms and it fails. The staff is very nice. It's not their fault that management hasn't taken care of the hotel properly. At least the bed was comfortable. I rarely have to come here so I don't know if I'll get to see them fix this problem or not. I hope they do. I really like this hotel in this location. read more

Complete Reno needed and more attention to cleanliness. Dirt and hair in the tub and actually had hairs hanging off the clean towels on the wall. Holes in the walls in the hallway. No housekeeping service. Asked for mountain view on higher floor, got a room on the 4th floor with a view of the back parking lot. We were coming on our drive from Colorado and needed a place to stay so we booked a room at the courtyard for tonight. The hotel is very 50-50 on what I feel like you're gonna get or expect, the AC did not work in our room, which was a major disappointment I turned it down to 60° and it was blowing hot air. The pillows are extremely flat and had no cushion or support at all, everything else in the hotel was great. The pool and hot tub area was cleaned. The lobby was very inviting and clean as well. There are definitely better options to pick from but as a last-minute hotel reservation, it would get the job done. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at this Courtyard Marriott. I prepaid in full for my reservation through a third-party service. Plans changed and I arrived one day later than originally scheduled. Instead of simply applying a no-show charge for the first night, the hotel canceled my entire reservation without notice. I had even called in advance to modify the dates and was told it could not be adjusted without canceling the whole reservation -- so I accepted that I would lose the first night. At no point was I informed that the hotel would completely void a fully prepaid stay. I arrived with two teenagers and was given a room with one king bed, despite my reservation being for more guests. When I asked about housekeeping the next day, I was told that it had to be requested at check-in -- a detail that was never communicated by the front desk. They assured me someone would be sent up. We returned six hours later to find that nothing had been serviced. The next morning, I attempted to place a mobile room-service order through the app, which repeatedly failed. I went downstairs to order in person and was told, "We have a banquet, things are crazy, I'm not sure I can do all that." I had only requested three basic items. I explained, politely, that the internal chaos of the hotel is not the guest's responsibility and that I expected the services the hotel advertises and that I paid for -- especially when traveling with children. We visit this area frequently and usually stay at the Hilton, where we have never experienced anything close to this level of disorganization. We decided to try something different this time, and unfortunately, we will not make that mistake again. This Courtyard is OLD! No closet to hang my work clothes. Even cheapest motels I stayed in have a closet or at least a rack with hangers! This place is just "ok" for a Courtyard, but not nice at all. They redecorated lobby but not the rooms. Why?!?! Gives false hope. Terrible. Upon arrival we checked in, in the middle of the night realized their air conditioning didn't work. Called in the AM and were informed "someone should have told you when you checked in our air conditioning is down". Except it wasn't down it was only down in the guest rooms. Contacted the front desk because we were not informed of this at any point prior to check in or when checking in. It was mid-80s during the day to the point where we had to leave the small cracked window open (with not screen so this was not possible at night due to bugs flying in) and the door to the hallway open while they hosted a Narcotics Anonymous event all weekend downstairs while traveling with kids. It was at least 90 in the room during the day and mid 80s overnight we couldn't sleep and kept waking up. We traveled out of state for a job for our teen daughters who assist at a convention and everywhere within the vicinity was sold out so we couldn't move hotels. I tried to get the management to refund us part of the nightly rate and they refused and gave us a "generous" 7000 bonvoy points "toward a future stay." So I have to spend more money so hopefully the next franchise treats us better. Ridiculous. Never again and probably never in a Marriott again since they aren't corporate controlled anymore each individual property manager can choose how they treat their guests. read more

Great location just a couple miles off the highway and walking distance to lots of restaurants and entertainment. This looks like it used to be an old Marriott that was converted into a Courtyard Marriott. The rooms are similar to most Courtyard rooms. However, the bathrooms and dresser/ armoire are very different. These are a bit nicer than most Courtyard Marriotts with eight floors instead of the standard three floors. Double elevators. Large lobby with a nice fireplace across from the check in desk. We had a small issue with not being able to sign into their WiFi but they helped us immediately after we called the front desk from our room. There is a pool, but the hot tub is out of order as of January 2021. We were disappointed about not having the luxury of sitting in the hot tub after each day of skiing. Hopefully they get the hot tub fixed soon. Great view out our odd number room on the sixth floor window! read more

Best place to stay in Ogden, especially if you don't have a car because it's so close to 25th street and the junction. If you do have a car, plenty of accessible parking. Lots of places in the lobby to meet up with friends, great atmosphere. Best kept secret - they have rooms with direct access to the pool. We stayed in one a few years back and the kids thought it was the coolest thing to go from the room to the pool and back and forth. Lower rating for staying there during the colder months, they only have the heat running. The rooms get really warm even if you have the window open because the windows don't open but a smidge. This is very uncomfortable and makes it hard to get a good nights sleep. read more

So this is a l nice hotel, it looks like it was a Marriott hotel that got downgraded to a Courtyard. Comfortable rooms and lots of room in the lobby. They had a ski locker, a plus, which I appreciated. The location is just off historic 25th street in Ogden and lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. My "knock" is the hot tub was out of order; we came skiing and really wanted to "soak" at night to recharge for the next day. So I stared here for 8 nights during a two week training. There were some nice parts about this hotel and some that kind of left me disappointed. First the good. You're close to 25th Street and all it's bars and restaurants. Also the minor league ball park is close. The hotel is in decent shape for it's age. Rooms looked recently renovated. At least the bathroom did. The bad. So the hotel is so old that the air conditioner is either on or off. The thermostat does nothing. So this ac vent blowing all night isn't exactly quiet. The conference was in a room that smelled heavily of chlorine. Also the hotel provided lunch was average at best. The lounge served specialty cocktails from 8-12$. It's around the corner literally a 2 minute walk if that from Ogden brewery. That's a plus. The lobby is massively open and there's not a single picture of it so I'm adding that....it is the best part (after the excellent customer service) about this hotel! As you just read, you are aware that staff is friendly and welcoming. The lady that checked us in was so accommodating that she makes the staff and service the absolutely best part of this hotel. Then the lobby/reception area. That's really the extent of it. I don't need to pick it apart bec as you read the reviews everyone already has. I will say they are definitely in need of an update soon, but the rooms are not the worse I've seen. When we return for work again we will probably try another hotel to compare this too and go from there. Updated in the AM: unfortunately, I do have to knock this down to a 2 star...the tub filled up to my ankles and I took a super quick shower w/o even washing my hair. This made me notice the dirt all along the bottom of the shower liner and splashes of dirt all over it. Gross. I then got out and noticed the 2 inches of dirty tile - either powder or comet, not sure? And when I brushed my teeth it also backed up. Of coarse there's chips in the furniture and other stuff people have already pointed out. But wth is this headboard???? Foam wrapped in pillowcases????? My friend wedding is 3/25 and had booked a hotel block plus her suites for bride/groom MONTHS in advance to stay at this property and THE MORNING OF HER CHECK IN AT 7 AM she received an email saying that her room reservation wouldn't be honored as they were starting "renovations". Absolutely unacceptable. And the Marriott team only comped one room and then gave a discount for the other she had booked. Started off her wedding week very stressful and she was nothing and patient with them throughout the whole process. Should have read the reviews before staying here. AC blows out hot air, the excuse is that the hotel is in "winter mode" and only produces heat right now (but somehow the lobby has AC). Was told the best they could do is send us a fan and open a window. This hotel shares a parking lot with businesses on 25th street and apparently it's the spot to party at until 3am. Open window meant we got to listen to motorcycles revving their engines, cars blasting music and the smell of people smoking weed in the parking lot until 3am. On the second night I called down to front desk about the music issue, their response was "we don't have security what do you want me to do about it?" I'm very sorry to leave a bad review for a hotel with such nice people. I stayed here before and had a great stay. This time, however, I've been placed in room 201 which is a nightmare. I am on the second floor and about 3 feet between my door and the very heavy door for the stairwell. The door slams up until about midnight every few minutes. I get a break from about midnight until 5 AM and then it starts again. If I was in the same room on a higher floor it wouldn't be an issue but who takes the elevator just one floor? No one. They all come up the stairwell and the heavy door slams closed. Every. Single. Time. They have no more rooms to give me. read more

The worst part is that you will be convinced everything is in order, and your request is being given consideration. The desk agent will nod and smile, type on their keyboard, and assure you everything will work out. When you come to the desk later to ask for the thing you arranged to be executed, you will get a deer in headlights stare, and it will be as if you never had the first conversation. The agent will pretend that this was an unusual situation, that factors beyond their control made it impossible for them, and start making an effort at that time, when it is already far too late. And you will be put at the back of the line; your special request will be the very last thing that is done! Woke up this morning to get breakfast for my family. The Starbucks kiosk worker came out, as I was looking at their menu, to tell me she can't make any of it (then why is the menu displayed?) because it's already 9:30am and she's closing down. Wow 9:30!!! I guess I'm some kind of anomaly...who on earth would eat breakfast at 9:30a???!!! So then I figured I'd just get room service. Nope. The concierge told me they don't have room service here ... said, "we're not a full service hotel." HUH????? I didn't know there was such a thing as a less-than-full-service hotel. If you are looking for a dishonest and toxic company to work for then you have found it! I am from a business and hospitality background, so I was thrilled to be hired as a front desk agent, with the hope of being promoted and willing to start from the bottom to be a part of the Marriott family. Unfortunately, I had no idea just how dishonest and lacking of character and integrity the management company (PEG HOSPITALITY GROUP) and the in-house upper management of the Courtyard by Marriott in Ogden was and is. I did get promoted to Front Desk Manager but I only then could see just how toxic this location is. Management not taking responsibility for their actions or their mistakes. More often than not my paycheck was incorrect. I left the Courtyard two months ago and only two days ago did I get the money that was owed to me and I only received it because I called and threatened to call human resources. Since I left two months ago, at least seven staff members have quit by just walking out. I know all these employees and I know how much grit each one has but you can only be lied to and cheated out of the money you were promised and taken advantage of so many times. The building is old and is very hot in the summer and cold in the winter. They are in the process of a remodel but only a cosmetic remodel. Meaning the building is getting new paint and carpet but not new heating and cooling, the fire alarm that went off 7 times in a 72-hour period is NOT being repaired and the hot tub that literally leaks out to empty every single night due to a break in the tub is also not being repaired. Each morning maintenance refills the tub only for it to leak out again. This happened daily for the 10 months that I worked there. That's roughly 300,000 gallons of water wasted and pooling somewhere under the 8-story hotel. I will not set foot in that hotel. It is not a safe building. It is not upholding the Marriott standards, they are grossly overcharging people for rooms that have lights that don't work, drains that drain very slowly, fire alarms that go off randomly and heating and cooling that don't work properly. The hotel made almost 2 million dollars more than they projected in 2022. People were promised raises come Jan 1, 2023. Yet here we are in March and no one has received a raise. Hence 7 staff members walking out. Some people have been working there for three or more years and are still only being paid $12 and hour. This is a horrible work environment, terrible moral, poor quality of a building and a severe lack of integrity starting from the top management on down. read more

I enjoyed my two week stay at this hotel, mostly for the walking proximity of the restaurants. My room was clean and the staff was attentive. The dining room was super overpriced, though. There is not a continental breakfast so you have to add about thirty minutes to your breakfast regime if you're used to the continental b/f. The biggest plus is the location, so close to so many great (and not so great) places to eat. There are easily 15 places to walk to for food and/or entertainment. read more

We have stayed at this property several times over the last 10 years without any problems, but on this visit everything was different. The entire stuff seem to have turnover and what were once nice pleasant staff members are now replaced by unpleasant and argumentative millennials. As a titanium elite member I expect a certain level of service from Marriott but was not treated as a valued guest here. Specifically the problem arose when I should have received two $10 daily food and beverage credits but the hotel only gave us one. This is in clear violation with corporate policy on their website it states that I was eligible for two $10 food in daily beverage credits but the staff at this hotel denies that this is the case. This is the only courtyard hotel I have ever stayed at where I have encountered this problem and was quite surprised by the response of the staff here. After checking with corporate they admitted that they had made a mistake but then when I checked out this morning the manager on duty told me that I was wrong again even though the policy and the card I have for the food and daily credit clearly state that we should have received two $10 credit. It wasn't so much the money it was the way the staff handled the issue they were extremely rude and not interested in checking into the policy to make sure that they were correct before telling me I was wrong. Family members also had a reservation. When we got our rooms, they were on different floors. I can live with that. The family members room was overbooked so they had no place to stay. The person at the lobby said that Best Western was holding a room for them. When they went there, Marriott didn't even call and they had no rooms. They slept in the parking lot. I'm a current guest as I type this message. Believe the other reviews when they tell you that A/C is basically non-existent! It took three requests to finally get someone to check it and I was told that engineering said it was blowing 62 degree air. The fan is on high and never stops but even set at 62, it hasn't changed the temperature in the room. A working A/C set at 62 should literally make the room cold but I don't have an engineering degree! Of course they are "sold out" and not once has anyone uttered anything that even remotely resembles an apology or offer any kind of solution. I did get an offer for a fan - Presumably that's to move the hot air around the room and make it even more miserable. I guess 20+ year preferred status with Marriott doesn't count for anything anymore - even an apology. read more

This hotel lobby is over heated as well as the elevator and halls. Hopefully our room will stay cool. The ice machine is two floors above ours. When we checked in they could not tell us if the Bistro would open or not... we were told depends on the staff. And we could walk in 101 degree weather to a local restaurant. It did open and now we are sitting here cooking while hopefully someone is cooking our food. If only we had another choice! The "short staff " is an over used excused. read more

This place is just okay. We recently stayed 2 nights here. The area it's in looks a little sketch. The rooms have been updated it seems. Just a little oddly done. The desk, bedside lamps, armoire and television area reminded me of my college dormitory, a bit mid-mod in style. The rooms seemed clean enough. Nice big shower in our room but no tub. But the hallways of the place were just gross. The doors are badly painted a glossy brown which doesn't help that some of them are tattered. The carpeting is sorta gross in the hallway we were in. Pool/spa area was nice but wow a lot of chlorine was used in there. Our bathroom door never stayed open. And the trash can outside the entrance to our hallway was overflowing when we got there and still hadn't been emptied when we checked out. Just minor issues but I can't recommend them. Find somewhere better located and cleaner in the public spaces. read more
