Not a good hotel. Rooms are marginal, lots of noise coming through the windows, the pool is a sad excuse. The location is nice, no denying that! But that's where it ends. Housekeeping is woefully understaffed, and finishes many rooms well into the afternoon! The desk manager will pay lip service to special requests, and then promptly forget that anything was requested. When you go to get the request fulfilled, it will be like you never had the first conversation. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Hilton property right next door! I've stayed there before, and they do much better job taking care of their customers. I won't be back! read more

With COVID-19 going on, there isn't a whole lot the fancier hotels can offer, but i do appreciate what is offered. The marriot price is a little spendy for an overnight on a road trip, especially with no amenities or breakfast. I chose this hotel because I wanted a clean place and the cheaper hotels were all described as dingy or grimey. The Courtyard was very clean. There is also a security guard that makes regular rounds, so I knew my car was safe. Last thing I need on the trip is a break-in. The room was spacious and the hotel looked very nice. I wish I was visiting under normal circumstances so I could enjoy the features more. read more

We had a toddler with us who would be demanding a bottle pretty soon but noticed they did not have milk in the coolers. Naomi totally went out of her way to retrieve us some milk! I stayed at this Marriot during XMAS 2020 and was notified by email the day I was traveling that the heat was shut down to late to book another hotel. It was freezing in the room. Since I am loyal Marriot customer I thought I would give them a second chance. I checked in at 3 PM on 6/8/2021 and spent the night and left for the day and when I got back to the room that evening my room was not cleaned no towels. I was perplexed and when I called the front desk I was informed that I had to inform the desk 24 Hours in advance to request having my room cleaned. No where was that mentioned to me during booking and I never heard of a policy like that in all my years in staying at a hotel. When I inquired why they stated it was due to Covid, although masks were not required in the Hotel. The hotel manager is responsible for the bad service and the reply's I received. I would never ever stay or recommend this hotel in fact I am going contact corporate headquarters of Marriot to let them know how the Hotel is treating customers. read more

A fairly nice hotel, interior in the lobby is pretty fancy. The room we stayed seems to be alright. Considered it is an old building, it must be remodeled recently. I would give it a 4 star rating but was a bit disappointed at the service during our 3 day stay. First, I booked my room on line directly from their official website, in the section of "special request" I indicated upper level and more towels. When we arrived, we got a room on first floor. It's actually ok with us, we understand that it is based on room availability. However, after swimming and ready for a shower, we noticed that we had less than 2 sets of towels (we indicated we had 2 adults and 2 kids), and all the shampoo, wash, conditioner were used. I had to quickly ran to the front desk to ask for more. Secondly, because it is a historical building, so the room temperature is controlled by "central"air... Which means you cannot adjust your own room temperature. There is a note on the wall by the thermo. If you are cold, you can turn it off... There is no suggestions about what to do if you are hot. Ha ha Staff members are very friendly and helpful. We may stay there again, just hope they will at least give us enough towels and new shampoo. read more

This place is the WORST. First off, you can't control the temperature in your room. The building is so old that everything is controlled by one unit. Our room was boiling. Second, they have rooms that overlook the indoor pool, which we were unlucky enough to be put in. There is no window in this room. The sliding door opens to a full metal door that you have to open to see the pool. It is insanely loud from the pool and you can't open any windows to cool the room down because the balcony only lets in hot, humid pool room air. At $200 per night this place is a joke. read more

Spent 3 nights at this hotel. Room rates are a great value. Front staff is friendly and prompt with check in. The hotel has a bistro which serves appetizers and decent size dinners and is also a cocktail lounge with several televisions including some at the booths. The hidden gem is Amber who is a great bartender and excellent server. Amber is probably the nicest restaurant server I've ever met. Always a smile on her face and will go the extra mile to make sure you get the best service possible. This place was in a good location, a few blocks from the treehouse museum and the Christmas village. Room was spacious, we got the single king with a sofa bed and it was large enough for two adults and 2 kids. The only issue with the room is the heater/AC; its single button operation, only on or off. I was worried I'd have to be waking up every hour because it would be either too warm or too cold but the kids slept good with it remaining off, though it was cold in the mornings. Room had a coffee maker with horrible coffee supplied but there's a Starbucks in the lobby if you enjoy Starbucks quality. There was also a microwave and very small refrigerator. The front desk staff were very friendly but the housekeeping staff, at least the one we encountered when we asked for more sugar packets, acted like we were interrupting her from something more important. The pool was too cold and both the pool and hot tub had too many chemicals in them, enough to make your eyes water if you were in the hot tub. When the air jets in the hot tub turned off, we were greeted by a whole lot of dead floating bugs. Not sure if they were just flying over and hit the chemical dog or what. We all also ended up with very dry rashes and the kids complained the whole way home that their elbow and knees hurt from the chemical rash. Overall I don't think we'll stay here again. The price was right but too many other things were wrong. read more

We reserved a double queen family suite well in advance, and after driving for 13 hours, arrived at 11pm and got a "pool side" room. The smell of chlorine was noxious, and we requested to move due to my son's asthma. They moved us to what is presumably the only room left - another pool side room. It is march and 77 degrees in our steamy chlorine filled room. AC is on full blast, and not cooling. I will NEVER stay here or any other marriott ever again. It should be illegal to have people residing where this many fumes are. And to add insult to injury staff clearly knows these rooms are uninhabitable. read more

Location: OUTSTANDING. Right by historical 25th Street with access to great restaurants and shops. Also very close to their Union Station and railroad museum. Parking was easy and convenient. Amenities: Pool was small, but also unoccupied! For a Saturday evening, my kiddo sure enjoyed having the whole pool to herself. The bistro and "Starbucks" seemed poorly staffed and expensive: we avoided. Rooms: King suite - separate bedroom from the kitchenette and the living area. Nice room, good sized bathroom. The location of this hotel is great but that is where the positives stop. Checking in at this Marriott was even a chore and it didn't get any better throughout our 6 night stay. There was minimal space to store clothing/luggage and the in room mini fridge could not maintain a temperature so no way to store anything chilled or needing refrigeration. In 6 days housekeeping visited our room ZERO times; no refreshed sheets, no garbage removed, no towels, no toilet paper, no vacuuming, no service, period. We were expected to visit the front desk to collect necessities and were on our own to do the rest ourselves. The staff and management admitted they were not prepared for the number of visitors they had at the time but made no effort to apologize nor compensate us for paying for an experience and amenities we clearly did not receive. To top things off, they roped off the pool with a "closed" sign the first day we were there and each staff member gave a different reason for the closure. The pool remained closed for the duration of our stay, 6+ days in a summer heat wave with temps over 100 degrees each day. There was no evidence of any issue with the pool and never any work being done to correct the problem. Coincidentally when the large crowds checked out on Saturday, the pool was suddenly open again. Very shady way to do business and super disappointing especially since we are pretty loyal customers of the Marriott brand. All issues were brought to the attention of staff and management multiple times and they have chosen not to respond despite several attempts to discuss our experience with them. Please consider staying elsewhere when visiting Ogden. There are several hotels nearby that deserve a chance to earn your business since this location clearly does not care about their visitors. read more

I am so impressed. I travel with a youth soccer team as a chaperone and have never felt so welcomed and accommodated by a hospitality staff as here. They never made me feel like a request was an inconvenience and we're always asking if there was some other thing they could be doing to help. Thank you for making our brief stay pleasant! Very nice hotel in the middle of town. The service is fair and the rooms feel pretty recently renovated. Staff is very friendly. I would like social hour like most Marriotts Courtyards. My only problems are that there is no food in this place at 11:00 pm or any options given to guest. Breakfast is not included for guest and that weird on Courtyards. I have been in many hotels, this is listed as one of the worst in my years of travel. It's a basic hotel and I didn't expect anything impressive. However, the curtains had stains on them that appeared to look like blood (probably just food). When I went out to get food and come back to bed I felt the room was pretty warm. So I changed the temp to 70 degrees (it was at 75). I was surprisingly woken in the AM to a room that was at 82 degrees. I had to open the windows, which had no screens and being on the first floor, extremely unsafe. The temp was able to get back down and then I noticed a thing on the wall saying if you use the system it pipes hot air into the room. WTF, Never in my life have I stayed in a room that will not allow you to use AC or get the room to a decent manner without using outside air. Also, you hear everything. Showers, toilets, doors, outside.. Everything. And you cant turn on the fan to weed it out, so you are up creek without a paddle. I woke up 4-5 times and was up by 5AM do to others getting up. read more

I've stayed here a few times and always have a good experience. It is nicely renovated - rooms are modern and clean. The staff is always helpful and kind. It is also in a great location, close to restaurants, movie theaters skiing and downtown. Third world WiFi/Internet. No covered parking. Poor room maintenance (loose fixtures in bathroom etc.). Mediocre air conditioning in summer. LOUD door latches when closing doors. Room refrigerators are ridiculously tiny and do not have any true temperature regulation. Laundry room has no apparent ventilation and becomes unbelievably hot! Lobby area is nice. Location is good. Blackout curtains are a plus. Elevators are fast. TV and programs are good. Should be/could be much better. read more

Courtyard Marriot was very disappointing. The elevators were broken so we had to change rooms. The a/c didn't work good. The tv was absolutely terrible you can only get a few channels and it was constantly buffering. We found spiders in our bed and bathtub. The sliding door was extremely loud opening and shutting it. We were here only for a one night stay on our way up to Rexburg, Id to see the eclipse. Overall, it was a pretty good stay. Front desk was pretty friendly, and the room seemed clean and comfortable. It is in an older part of town - hubby said if you traveled one way it seemed pretty sketchy, but the other way (towards the historic downtown), it seemed ok. There were a bunch of eateries to the back of the hotel, within easy walking distance. Read a bunch of reviews talking about the thermostats, but I don't remember having a problem with the temperature of the room, and this was in September. read more

Stayed on 2nd floor by pool area. No air allowed since it was in winter mode. Room smelled like chlorine and felt like a sauna. No smoking allowed but back entrance had hundreds of cig butts and a ash tray. Ash tray too full. Will never recommend this place. read more

I stay at Marriott all over the country and I know a good one when i visit one. The staff has always been on par and accommodating every time we have stayed there. The'y have no problem with my companion animal (which legally they can't). Staying on the first floor is my favorite because the patio opens to a fenced in courtyard with a fire pit to stay warm. They also have an INDOOR pool! I never get to enjoy those. In California we do not have indoor pools, that wouldn't make sense haha. I also love how spacious it is. Most Marriott's are VERY crowded. There is a Bistro and Market inside as well. Fitness center and Laundry services too. read more

Easy to find. Convenient to campus. Walking distance to many delicious restaurants and cute bars. I used the fitness center and saw the pool area while a guest at this hotel. The fitness center was clean, and the pool appeared well stocked with towels and smelled of chlorine. Staff was courteous, and parking was ample and seemed safe. I would stay here again when in the area, as we got a reasonable rate as part of the group staying for the Weightlifting National Universities. Recommend! read more

We chose this property since we are Marriott rewards members. It was a mistake. The room was soooooo hot. The AC never worked and we ran it all night. We spent the night on July 3,2015. The response from the front desk was lame. We could give you breakfast, at a cafe that would not be open for another hour, as if we wanted to sit around and wait for that. We just wanted to get out of there since we had 500 miles more to go. The clerk said she would notify the property manager. So far we have not had a response from the manager. This is the most ghetto Marriott I have ever experienced. The rooms have a thermostat but it does not actually control the temperature, management does. Management turned the cooling option off for the season for the entire building, my room stayed a constant 80 degrees. I was able to open the window but had to deal loud music, car alarms and drunk fights that came from the bars and clubs that surround the building. The Starbucks in the lobby keeps bankers hours so if you have early morning meetings don't count on getting any coffee here. I've stayed at motel 6's and super 8's with better amenities than this dump. read more

Our visit was worth 4 stars right up until the moment housekeeping knocked on our door early this morning. Although the rooms have been updated they failed to upgrade the air conditioner. It's basically a swamp cooler with chilled/hot water. The rooms are not insulated so they are very noisy. Cheap toilet paper, soap and furniture. A cheap roadside hotel would have been a better deal. BTW no safe either read more

Fair property, rooms are average, restaurant isn't very good. The service is always below average in the restaurant. The servers always seem confused about how to operate the systems, and they give different answers about policies depending on who you talk to. read more

I have stayed in Courtyards all over the country and this is exceptional. Larger than most, the decor in the lobby is lovely and the bistro is comfortable and spacious. The rooms are comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. We weren't there long enough to walk about historical 25th Street, but will do that on another trip through the area. After reading other reviews I was reminded of the issue with the HVAC. Yes - on or off, and I can see how it could be a pain at certain times of the year. It wasn't a problem for us. Stayed recently just so we could have a night out to experience all that historical 25th street had to offer. Stayed once before a couple years ago when this hotel was called the Summit. Marriot purchased and made some big improvements since we were last here. More modern furniture and decor. One plus is the number of outlets and usb charging ports scattered throughout the room. Big plus. The stay was fine. Three things that would have made the stay better. Listed from least to most annoying. 1. The TV. While it was a flat screen and had plenty of channel options, the TV itself was really dim... Another TV thing (not to be nit-picky) was the TV was mounted to the wall on a pretty crooked angle. This can be really annoying to anyone with a certain degree of OCD. 2. The hallway outside our room wreaked of vomit. I think there was an attempt at cleaning, but the smell lingered and the aroma was unavoidable coming from and going to our room. 3. I booked our room on Priceline after spot checking pricing on other sites. I booked a standard room with 2 queen beds. I upgraded and paid $10 more for a room that included breakfast for two in the morning at the hotels little cafe called The Bistro. I was looking forward to this being we had a very late night. We made it down to The Bistro right about 10am. While we could see people dining at tables, we could not see any host/waitstaff to assist us. We weren't sure if we needed to just take a seat of be seated. We approached a hotel person on duty at check-in desk and asked about the Bistro and they informed us that The Bistro closes at 10am. This was a bit frustrating as this detail was NOT communicated at time of creating reservation not at room check-in. I asked for a refund of my $10 dollars and after confirming my identity and room number I was just basically told they could not issue a refund to me. While trying to be understanding I was pretty frustrated by this news. The hotel check-in clerk said they would see if The Bistro could do anything. While the hostess was not available, the clerk went into the back room of The Bistro which I assumed to be the kitchen. A minute later returned to say that they'd be willing to fix us breakfast and to wait for the hostess as she should be back any moment. I didn't want the person that would be cooking our food to feel put out or disappointed for obvious reasons. I imagined they were likely cleaning up from the breakfast rush and might fee annoyed they have to cook more after expecting they were finished. While it shouldn't have been a biggie, I was aggravated that I was out $10 bucks just because nobody bothered to communicate hours if the Bistro at checkin. Only instructions I received was to tell them my last name and room number and that was the extent of the conversation. We opted to just leave the hotel and find breakfast on 25th street. For next adventure we might plan in that particular area, we might consider one of the other hotels. read more

This is our second time staying at this hotel within a few years. We are Gold members, as we travel a lot, and have seen the difference between many of them. This hotel has been upgraded in its decor since the first time we stayed, which is nice. However, what has not changed is the smell of chlorine throughout the rooms by the pool. We were put in a bottom level "suite" as we had our kids with us, which happened to be wheelchair accessible, so no tub. After being at a wedding all day, I wasn't excited about that, but decided to deal with it. The pool was outside our room through glass doors. It completely reeked of chlorine, enough so that I had a headache within the first 30 minutes. There were also loud guests in the pool until 11. We asked to switch rooms, but were informed there were no other suites available. The loud guests left by 11:15, but I lost a couple of hours of sleep because of it. The beds were up to Marriott standards, and the rooms were clean, but we won't be staying again due to the chlorine issue, as well as not wanting to be by the pool. I'd rather stay further away from my venue than ever stay here again! read more
