I loved the experience and the cabin was so cozy. The service was amazing and they even let us check in early so we didn't have to stress after the reception on getting here and finding our cabin. We ate at the lodge and they served breakfast with the room. This was just as great of an experience as I had imagined since I was a kid. What a special trip for a special occasion and being in the mountains in the fall is always beautiful.

Our front desk clerk, I believe her name was Megen, was very nice, welcomed us, and gave us the lowdown of the property. It is actually very nice. The rooms are spacious suites, with a large fridge, microwave, dishes and cups, a desk, and a kitchenette counter area with a coffee maker. It would seem to be a place where people might have extended says, for business or personal. To that end, they don't provide housekeeping services until you've stayed 7 days, though the sign seem to say that they would do a full clean of your room if requested even if you stay less than the seven days. There is no complimentary breakfast, which is unusual for the hotels we typically stay at. Parking is free, though if the hotel was real busy you might have to park in the back where the dumpsters are (we didn't have to). When we checked in and after we had dinner, we did not see any business people, but did see a few interesting characters. Still, we felt v ery safe. Our room had double queen beds. They were more comfortable than the other two hotels we stayed at on this trip, but I still was awakened with hip and back pain. The bathroom sink space allowed for both of us to have our toiletries, and there was a nice walk in shower with doors instead of curtains, which I thought was a nice touch. The shower water pressure was just OK, and the bathroom fan did not seem strong, though it did the trick. There are a few good restaurants within walking distance, including a brewery right across the street, though we did not go there. Within a short drive there are many more options. The hotel is set back a few miles from the freeway, so it was very quiet. Except for the AC in the room, which when on, was VERY loud. Otherwise, it was very quiet. All in all, we enjoyed our stay in our clean and spacious suite at a very reasonable rate. Very nice for a stopover. Layton, UT, seems like a great place.

Small gym with 2 cardio devices, a couple weight benches, and decent set of dumbbells. Living area and bedroom had separate climate controls with thermostats which worked well. Didn't notice noise as a problem. Needs improvement: the furnishings are getting toward the end of their service lives. Not shabby looking, rather the cushioning of the beds and couches are on the downhill side of the peak. The dining service utensils were too few. Almost no spices provided for cooking. Stainless steel saute pans (I don't have the knack to keep food from sticking) are not my choice for cooking. No oven, btw. Summary: a nice room that's a step up from a regular room at a pretty good price. We'd stay here again for sure.

Last but not the least I feel like I should mention the cost of all the splendour, it's not for the faint of heart, per person, how's about $85.00!! It's just probably the absolute best $85.00 a person will spend in their lifetime of hunting a buffet of this magnitude!! The winding road up led you along a winding creek/river depending on your view point. All the housing along this water way was built in such a way to take advantage of the water. One place it was running under the house. Not sure about tht but I guess they have a handle on it. I imagine it could be a tough drive in the winter with ice and snow.this place must really get active during the ski season as their park areas are huge. In the off season they have hiking and biking available, mini golf, outdoor music and arts events as well as mountain top dining and a kids zone Thts open year around

You will often run into drivers that talk, but Todd took a genuine interest in us and sincerely wanted us to have a great time. Todd keeps his vehicle in great shape so you feel like you are riding in your own. When it came time for a ride back to the airport, he confirmed multiple times, was punctual and provided us with another great experience. p.s. If you ride with Todd, ask him about ski biking. Don't come unless you want to put your beginner in danger and waste money on advanced skier…read more Also Discrimination!!! Unless you spend over $10k at ski school, don't expect any help. This was what the Director, Krista of the ski school told us. Your kids will be put in groups with other kids at very different levels, green, blue, or black, maybe all in one group. It doesn't matter. They don't assess based on levels even though they act like they do by giving the kids report cards. Your kids may be at a lower level but they will group them with kids on super high level and vice versa. If you have lower level kids, this will be very dangerous, and if you have higher level skiers, then you just spend the money, and they may not learn anything. We have been to different ski resorts in Utah and Denver, and this is the first time that they do not consider the kids levels and provided service based on how much you spent.

This resort is truly top notch. They are unique in that they offer no lodging, so most people who…read moreski/board here are locals. The benefit to that is that it is not so commercialized like many others in the area. People don't come to Snowbasin to shop, they come here to enjoy the slopes! With the exception of the lodge, the store, and a few smaller lodges with restaurants spread throughout the resort, there is nothing else to do but ski. The skiers at Snowbasin have excellent etiquette and there is plenty of space on the slopes even on the busiest days. So if the lift lines are long, know that the slopes won't be congested. I have heard that they are planning to add in a hotel with 300+ rooms in the next 5 years, so the dynamic will shift. Hopefully they continue their focus on the slopes instead of shopping. Only time will tell!
