We had some good and some not so good experiences at this location but overall it was an ok stay. We arrived at 4pm for a 3pm check in and room was not ready. Jamie at the front counter did apologize and confirm the room should have been ready at 3 but was unable to find us a room that was ready as they were "almost fully booked" and "low on cleaning staff". She advised she would put a priority on the cleaning as we were already here waiting and would call us when the room was ready. She came to get us in the lobby at 4:23 p.m. Breakfast was very good with a variety of options and staff kept the area clean and stocked. Each of the days we stayed there was a make your own waffle station, they always had eggs and sausage or bacon, three different types of cereals and oatmeal, including different toppings were also offered daily. There was coffee, tea and water available in the hobbies throughout the day and for the breakfast there was milk and juice available in the breakfast section. We had one of the worst shower experiences we have ever had in a hotel at this location. My partner warned me the first night but I did not think it could possibly be as bad as they said. Turns out it was worse. The water pressure was SO low that I had to fill the ice bucket with warm water just to get my hair rinsed out. Even on full blast, there's not enough water pressure and because it starts at the bottom (lower pressure/cold) and goes up to the top (higher pressure/hot) you have to have it on the hot as possible just to get a drizzle of water. So your options are to have it drip cold water on you or drip scalding water on you slightly faster. It's really a shame because the bathroom itself was nice and clean and the amenities were fine, but the shower experience was absolutely horrible. The room was pet friendly, which is always a huge plus for us as we travel with our dog. For a $75 fee we were able to stay 4 nights with our pup. The room was cute and well appointed with a full kitchen including fridge, dishwasher, cups.playes. utensils, etc. There was also a desk and a sitting area in addition to the comfy bed, as well as closet, drawer and cupboard space. I do want to mention that I cut my leg on the bracket on the bed twice though because the bed is very close to the wall and A/C unit and when you squeeze by on the far side, the metal bracket sticks out. The first time I was shocked to look down and see blood on my leg and the second time I was in a hurry and forgot, but honestly this should not have happened either time. The room is spacious enough that there should be more space between the bed and wall to protect patrons staying here. There was a patio area with a fire pit and grill as well as a designated potty area for our dog but it was never stocked with any bags. Luckily we always have our own on hand. There is plenty of free parking available however the spa was closed the entirety of our stay (I checked daily as I was really hoping to relax in the spa) and we were unable to use it which was very disappointing. In all honesty I would probably rate our stay here 2 1/2 stars overall but I like to be nice and round up. This could easily be a 4+ star hotel with a few minor changes (repair spa, hire housekeepers, etc) so if you choose this location I genuinely hope they've made some improvements and your stay is better than ours. Happy travels.

I stayed here while visiting Monterey, and it was pretty mid. The check in took so long - about 30 minutes! Unfortunately there was only 1 person at the desk, and there was 1 party ahead of us. The room itself is nice, pretty spacious, and it had a great kitchenette! The fridge was full size! Unfortunately, the bathroom door can't close all the way, and the shower door didn't close all the way, either! The walls are also extremely thin!! We brought our baby, and she cried pretty loudly at 10:50 pm. I felt bad for our neighbors. I wish they spent money on insulation.

My family stayed here, and Home2Suites is a really new hotel that just opened March 2024. I really love the location, which is near the Dunes shopping center. The parking lot in front of the lobby doors is huge, and there are plenty of parking spots. We arrived at 3pm to check in and our room was ready. We headed straight to the indoor pool. I noticed there was a small jacuzzi next to the pool, too. Even though the pool is heated, it still felt quite cold. My family ended up swimming for a few hours. I noticed the clean pool towels kept getting refilled. There is a restroom inside the pool area, which is great and super convenient for kids. The pool was really busy with lots of families, too. When we got back to our room to use the shower, I noticed the water pressure was super low. The water was flowing out so slow. (Minus 1 star) The complimentary breakfast in the morning was decent. There was breakfast sandwiches, pasties, cereal, make your own waffles, etc. Overall, this Home2 suites is a very clean hotel. The amenities are awesome here.

Nice sunrise run near the beach.

Brand new location as I have stayed next door previously. The parking lot is small, but it does have spots for EV charging. The Hilton app would not allow Bluetooth door features of the room during our stay even after multiple attempts to reset the app. The food was ok, but for the price it should have been much better and made to order. It is located in the quiet section of town near the college campus.

New hotel, so everything is in great condition. Some rooms have a partial ocean view, which is nice. Bed was a little "springy". Breakfast was surprisingly mediocre, even though the breakfast area is really nice. Would stay here again, but might opt to go to breakfast elsewhere.

The additional space would have been nice for two adults and their furry friend. It was still a great room with an awesome view of the dunes and water. Check in was terrific. The lobby is beautiful and stocked for a quick whatever you might want. There is a backyard behind the lobby that is sheltered from those pesky ocean breezes with firepit, tables, chairs and other stuff. Nice touch. Our room was spotless. The bathroom was very nice. Clean and let me say that the shower was fantastic. There is a heater/fan in the bathroom that made getting out of the shower, pleasantly warm. Toiletries are of nice quality. Our dog, Sian found the stick library very useful and she had a blast going after it on the beach and in the ocean. She even brought it back to the library the morning we left, for others to use during their stay. The pet welcome is a nice touch. This site is very pet friendly. Not so much for the timeshares that are on the same property. And that's fine. Parking is not allowed at the units. You are driven to your unit by one of the great golf cart drivers. Zach was our driver. Loaded all our luggage on to the the cart. As we journeyed to our cottage, Zach pointed out sites as well as amenities. Unloaded our luggage as wll as went and got us ice as we settled in. If you need help getting to your car, onsite restaurant or the lobby, just call the lobby about 10 minutes before you want to go and someone will be there. The restaurant is great. We ate there twice and had breakfast delivered to our unit twice. The bread platter... OMG... the bread platter. We loved it so much that we went to Otto's bakery in Salinas on our way out of town to bring it home with us. The restaurant is not open for breakfast but, at check in, you will get a room service menu that that's how you can have breakfast onsite. More on the restaurant in that review... Can't wait to go back. Have to say that overall, this is probably in our top 3 of vacation spots. Including Hawaii. It's just great.

I had this…read morehotel saved for a long time and booked it after seeing so many glowing reviews about the pet-friendly luxury experience. We paid around $1,000 for one night, so I arrived excited and expecting something special. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite. Many of the pet-friendly touches that influenced me to book were missing at check-in. There was no personalized dog welcome setup, no dog package, and my dog's name was not on the welcome sign until I called later. I had also requested a simple welcome card for my mother-in-law's first trip to California, and although staff said they would gladly do it, it was never done. We also had multiple room issues throughout the stay. The TV was not working, the phone buttons to reach the front desk did not work, there was no extra pillow for the fold-out bed, and there was even a leftover dog chew from a previous guest found in the bed. To be fair, the maintenance employee was kind and helpful, and the complimentary bottle of wine was appreciated. However, for this price point, the lack of attention to detail and overall service was really disappointing. What upset me most was checkout. I politely explained that I was disappointed and thought at minimum the pet fee might be removed, but there was no effort to make things right beyond emailing the receipt. Beautiful location, but the experience did not match the cost or reputation. I truly wanted to love this stay and left sad and let down instead.

This. Place. SUCKS!…read more You can hear EVERYTHING. The engines and security beeps of every car in the parking lot. The obnoxious kids running and yelling endlessly up and down the hallway outside your door. The neighbor's TV and conversation and snoring in every room adjacent to your own. Every door opening and closing all night long.... And that's just OUTSIDE your room. Inside, the AC/fan is loud and the beds creak and groan every time you breathe. I barely slept might #1 and judging by the crowd of elephants that just entered the room next door, I won't get much more tonight as I'm typing this at 11 PM. The layout of the room is awful. As soon as someone opens the door, everyone inside is blasted by either the outdoor lights or the sun. The bathroom is ridiculously tiny. You can barely get inside to close the door to use the toilet. The shower curtain bar was falling out of the wall, drooping, and causing the curtain to continously slip to the middle of the bar, letting all the shower spray out onto the floor. And nevermind any soft or adjustable lighting--it's all harsh, bright light ricocheting across mirrors so no one can sleep if one person is up. The floor creaks when you walk and was filthy and gritty when we arrived. There's mildew and mold in most corners and all over the bathroom. The toilet seat is such flimsy, cheap plastic you can't sit on it without it sliding half of the toilet or bowing under you. Did I mention that you will hear all the screaming and crying children on either side of you all hours of the night? The parking lot was NEVER full, but the place still put everyone in consecutive rooms when clearly there were empty rooms that could have been used to space us all out to make buffers for noise since this place has zero soundproofing. The room as a whole was grimy and dirty. Stuff on the walls, paint peeling, bathroom and bathtub surfaces cracked, rusted, and moldy. Absolutely disgusting. The only positives I can cite are the blackout curtains (worked well) and that there was a mini-fridge and microwave in the room. The continental breakfast was okay, too. But if you actually want to sleep on your trip, don't stay here. This place clearly does not care one bit about helping you get a decent night's rest. Never. Ever. Again.

The hotel is surrounded by apartments so I'm sure people from other places park there. There's only 30 or so parking spots and it's Not monitored which I wish they would do. Maybe give us a parking pass to put on the car or something and tow the ones who don't belong. My husband had to park a block and half away. We would consider staying here again if they fixed the parking issue. It's very inconvenient for families who have little ones.

It offers a TV (which I was too stupid/tired to figure out how to work), a desk to eat/work at, a microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker. All things considered, it offered a lot of features for a 2-star motel. The room itself was clean and the bed was comfortable. Staying in Marina, I didn't feel the need to turn on the A/C and the room was comfortable to sleep in. No random noises or altercations waking me up, so a huge plus for my experience here for the night. Staff - The gentleman who checked me in was very kind and even offered to open a bottle for me when I bought a Jarritos for my dinner and didn't realize it needed a bottle opener. Check out was smooth and they offered me a goodie bag to-go which included a yogurt, banana, clementine, granola bar, and pastry. It was very generous and considering the event I went to didn't offer breakfast or lunch, it came in handy! All things considered, this is about as good as you're going to get for a 2-star motel and I would gladly come back and stay here again if I found myself back in the area for business. It was a very quiet complex and the folks running it were very nice.
