Our trip was totally amazing. Words cant describe how beautiful the hotel was the room so spacious. It had everything you can think of a beautiful huge fridge a dishwasher pot pans plates cups basically it's like you're living in an apartment but it's a hotel the staff there was so amazing. They took great care of us. Francesca the manager was so helpful so nice and treated us like family. We are very grateful to have met her and got to know her. They had an indoor pool. And a Jacuzzi and it was nice and warm. Their gym was pretty spacious as well very beautiful looking. They also had a place where you can do your laundry if need be. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Plenty of options for breakfast. The spacious outdoor patio has a nice feature with comfortable seating and gas fire pits. There was an issue with the hot tub, which was very disappointing, the chemicals were so strong. It burned our eyes, we could not stay in it. We regularly use hot tubs, we've never had a problem with other hotels. This was extremely disappointing to us as we were looking forward to using the hot tub and swimming in the pool. It was the reason we chose this hotel. Apparently, this has been an ongoing issue with other reviews, and they still are not correcting it. The pool is uncomfortably cold. We weren't the only guest who decided not to swim because of the temperature. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend staying here as long as you don't want to use the hot tub or pool. read more

We had some good and some not so good experiences at this location but overall it was an ok stay. We arrived at 4pm for a 3pm check in and room was not ready. Jamie at the front counter did apologize and confirm the room should have been ready at 3 but was unable to find us a room that was ready as they were "almost fully booked" and "low on cleaning staff". She advised she would put a priority on the cleaning as we were already here waiting and would call us when the room was ready. She came to get us in the lobby at 4:23 p.m. Breakfast was very good with a variety of options and staff kept the area clean and stocked. Each of the days we stayed there was a make your own waffle station, they always had eggs and sausage or bacon, three different types of cereals and oatmeal, including different toppings were also offered daily. There was coffee, tea and water available in the hobbies throughout the day and for the breakfast there was milk and juice available in the breakfast section. We had one of the worst shower experiences we have ever had in a hotel at this location. My partner warned me the first night but I did not think it could possibly be as bad as they said. Turns out it was worse. The water pressure was SO low that I had to fill the ice bucket with warm water just to get my hair rinsed out. Even on full blast, there's not enough water pressure and because it starts at the bottom (lower pressure/cold) and goes up to the top (higher pressure/hot) you have to have it on the hot as possible just to get a drizzle of water. So your options are to have it drip cold water on you or drip scalding water on you slightly faster. It's really a shame because the bathroom itself was nice and clean and the amenities were fine, but the shower experience was absolutely horrible. The room was pet friendly, which is always a huge plus for us as we travel with our dog. For a $75 fee we were able to stay 4 nights with our pup. The room was cute and well appointed with a full kitchen including fridge, dishwasher, cups.playes. utensils, etc. There was also a desk and a sitting area in addition to the comfy bed, as well as closet, drawer and cupboard space. I do want to mention that I cut my leg on the bracket on the bed twice though because the bed is very close to the wall and A/C unit and when you squeeze by on the far side, the metal bracket sticks out. The first time I was shocked to look down and see blood on my leg and the second time I was in a hurry and forgot, but honestly this should not have happened either time. The room is spacious enough that there should be more space between the bed and wall to protect patrons staying here. There was a patio area with a fire pit and grill as well as a designated potty area for our dog but it was never stocked with any bags. Luckily we always have our own on hand. There is plenty of free parking available however the spa was closed the entirety of our stay (I checked daily as I was really hoping to relax in the spa) and we were unable to use it which was very disappointing. In all honesty I would probably rate our stay here 2 1/2 stars overall but I like to be nice and round up. This could easily be a 4+ star hotel with a few minor changes (repair spa, hire housekeepers, etc) so if you choose this location I genuinely hope they've made some improvements and your stay is better than ours. Returned 2 years later for work. The rooms are very spacious with a small kitchenette to include a small sitting area. Ceilings are really tall. Light color palette which is nice. Lots of counter space too. Great view too! Bathroom was very well lit, lots of towels, soap, lotion, etc. I wanted to give Home 2 Suites a 5-star review, but there are a couple of things.... My sheets, bedding &/or pillow smelled used and not fresh.... That is a big item for me.... The shower water pressure was very weak, it was difficult to get the soap washed off.... Now for the updates, new professional mature minded staff which is a huge plus!! Gilberto was very nice and helped us out with our late check out. All staff were professional, welcoming, engaging and wanted to ensure our stay was going to be pleasant. The complimentary breakfast was very nice (eggs, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, fruit, etc.). I stayed here while visiting Monterey, and it was pretty mid. The check in took so long - about 30 minutes! Unfortunately there was only 1 person at the desk, and there was 1 party ahead of us. The room itself is nice, pretty spacious, and it had a great kitchenette! The fridge was full size! Unfortunately, the bathroom door can't close all the way, and the shower door didn't close all the way, either! The walls are also extremely thin!! We brought our baby, and she cried pretty loudly at 10:50 pm. I felt bad for our neighbors. I wish they spent money on insulation. read more

We stayed at this Home2 Suites by Hilton location a couple of months ago - I usually do not review hotels, unless the experience was this bad or unexceptionally pleasant. They are located right by CSU Monterey Bay with many newish dining / shops around, so pretty convenient (so we would had thought). There is also free parking in their private lot, so that is probably the only positive aspect of our stay. At first glance, this may be decent spot to stay at for a just a couple of days / nights. It states that check-in is at 3 PM, so we specifically arrived at that time hoping to drop our luggage off first, but were told by front desk it is not, so we had to waste an hour or so idling around, until it was time to check-in and then go about our day. To my knowledge, it still says that their check-in is at 3 PM online as of right now. Let me get started - the room is decently spacious and nice for what it is, besides a few issues. The bed and counters were not the most clean - it had some stray hairs and such on it upon arriving. The water pressure in the shower was very weak and it also took a minute for the water to heat up, so it is just not a good overall feeling to go through when you just want to have a nice, relaxing, and warm shower. The walls seem like it is like paper thin - we heard babies crying and screaming next door at all hours of the night. They have some amenities that I always look for at a hotel like their gym and pool. It seems like their gym is 24 hours, but it was a bit small and stuffy, so we decided to go to their pool, which is right next door. The water in the pool was freezing, so we wanted to relax in the hot tub. The hot tub had so much chlorine in it that we almost gagged from the strong smell going through our nose and I started to get a headache / felt dizzy after a few minutes. The ends of my long blonde hair was touching the water in the hot tub and guess what? My hair turned blueish green from all that chloride, which I had to get fixed when I got home (waste of more than a few hundred dollars, thanks to the carelessness of this hotel). Huge open glass window between the gym and pool (right by the hot tub), so a bit awkward if you are trying to work out in peace or enjoy the hot tub. Overall, our experience started with a couple of minor inconveniences to slight issues to a bigger problem that costed me a lot of money, major damage to my hair that surprised my and all of the other hair stylists in the shop that day I went to try to salvage my hair (which unfortunately could not be saved), and wasted time (took at least 8 hours in that chair to try to at least try to "fix" it). This review is mainly for the hot tub situation, asI feel like I could had overlooked the other minor inconveniences and slight issues, but since I am already doing a review, I might as well point them out as well. My family stayed here, and Home2Suites is a really new hotel that just opened March 2024. I really love the location, which is near the Dunes shopping center. The parking lot in front of the lobby doors is huge, and there are plenty of parking spots. We arrived at 3pm to check in and our room was ready. We headed straight to the indoor pool. I noticed there was a small jacuzzi next to the pool, too. Even though the pool is heated, it still felt quite cold. My family ended up swimming for a few hours. I noticed the clean pool towels kept getting refilled. There is a restroom inside the pool area, which is great and super convenient for kids. The pool was really busy with lots of families, too. When we got back to our room to use the shower, I noticed the water pressure was super low. The water was flowing out so slow. (Minus 1 star) The complimentary breakfast in the morning was decent. There was breakfast sandwiches, pasties, cereal, make your own waffles, etc. Overall, this Home2 suites is a very clean hotel. The amenities are awesome here. read more

The room was very spacious! Beds were pretty comfortable and the free breakfast was pretty decent. I had to take off a star because the parking is awful, especially if you are checking in late. It's pretty disappointing to pay over $300 per night to not have parking. I was told to either park in the motorcycle parking or on the street. I would rather pay for parking and have a spot than not have one Customer service was okay. When I checked in, was better throughout my stay. read more

I have stayed here multiple times. The rooms are good size and I love having the kitchenette. It's family friendly so be prepared for large groups of kids for sports. Breakfast is fine in the morning but can be very crowded. The front desk always seems bored and not very helpful. I wish they had some customer service training. read more

Brand new location as I have stayed next door previously. The parking lot is small, but it does have spots for EV charging. The Hilton app would not allow Bluetooth door features of the room during our stay even after multiple attempts to reset the app. The food was ok, but for the price it should have been much better and made to order. We stayed here for one night and enjoyed this newer hotel. It was centrally located near shops and restaurants on the old Fort Ord. Fort Ord Dunes State Park was just a quick drive away. There was a lot of parking in front and a couple of EV charging stations. It was nice that they didn't charge any parking fee like other hotels. Check in was done via the Hilton app and I picked our room ahead of time. I still checked in at the front desk to get a physical key and they handed me the Hilton Gold welcoming bag with one bottle of water and two bags of fruit snacks. The condition of the hotel was very nice. The patio had Weber had gas grills and fire pits. The lounge area was bright and had lots of seating but not a lot of tables to eat breakfast. I knocked off one star as the second elevator wasn't working throughout our stay so there were times when it took forever. The gym was compact but had treadmills, elliptical and a Peloton bike. There also was a full set of dumbells and a multifunction weight machine. The pool was saltwater and busy with kids most of the time. Our room was a lot larger than I expected so much space inside. There two queen beds were quite comfy, the sofa was great to lounge around and it was handy having the small kitchenette. The bathroom was just ok with a barn sliding door that did not close all the way and so so water pressure in the shower. Breakfast in the morning was busy especially the line for the waffle makers. They had the standard hot oatmeal, cereal, breads and bagel, fresh fruit and yogurt. The hot foods were in a case and consisted of premade omelettes, breakfast bowls and sausage muffin sandwiches. The Customer Service team at the registration desk were super helpful & friendly, as were the cleaners and room help. They were all very kind and cooperative. The room was clean & nice but...that said, the elevator was out of service our entire stay. It did not work for going down from any of the top floors. So, when we arrived the front desk said, they had a call in to fix it & would be fixed the next day - but it wasn't fixed the 4 nights we were there & it was very inconvenient & stressful having to call & ask them to send the only elevator (that only half way worked) to us every time we needed to leave & get to an appointment or venue. Stayed 12/16-12/18/24. Would not recommend! The power went out to the rooms right after we checked in and we had to leave for a few hours because we could not sit in the dark. BEWARE! The maintenance guy said it's been like this for past 6 months since they opened! If I only knew this we would not have stayed at this property. Also, the electrical issues affected the neighboring hotel too. We had a neighbor the second night who was in and out of her room every hour and would slam her door. We could hear everything! The walls would shake! Paper thin walls. Patricia texted us in the morning, "How was your stay?" When we texted her details, CRICKETS. NO RESPONSE. I had higher hopes for this place. My fiancé, child and I stayed 2 nights. The room we got was not bad. We had a kitchenette area which we liked. We booked the 1 bed with the pullout sofa bed. I would have rated higher if 1. They had the room stocked with bedding for the sofa bed (yes we did check the drawers so we had to go down and ask -minor inconvenience) 2. They charge you an arm and a leg for detergent, fabric sheets or even any snacks (honestly I feel that should be complimentary because I know other places that don't charge you for the detergent or the sheets -already have to pay for washing my clothes anyway. 3. The jacuzzi or "spa" area was not working which was a bummer and we weren't aware/informed when we booked. 4. When we booked I was informed that breakfast was from 6am-10am turned out that whomever informed us gave us false info. (Almost missed breakfast) 5. The pool area was nice but TOO much Chlorine . I had a headache and felt an uncomfortable feeling in my throat because it was too strong (even another individual who was staying claimed to feel the same and notice the strong smell). 6. The water pressure in the shower was weak. Someone should consider switching the shower heads out. On the brighter side The staff that I had encountered were super nice and helpful (the lady's at the front desk -although they switched front desk people, all of the ladies were helpful and nice. Shout out to OMAR who allowed me to still get breakfast (for my son and I ) even though they were about to close down (due to someone giving me wrong time for breakfast hours ) . Please give this man A RAISE very nice and friendly and considerate. Overall the experience was okay (could be better) I feel that management should be looking out for those minor inconvenience for other people But I mean shout to the staff who were very helpful (even the cleaning staff) . Stayed here for a couple nights. I was impressed either way the size of the room. It's already pretty large and the tall ceilings made it feel even bigger which was nice. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were fairly fluffy. My room was clean on arrival and housekeeping kept it that way. The shower was just okay, the pressure left a little bit to be desired. My understanding though, is that in Monterey County they have fairly strict water pressure guidelines to follow. This might not be true, but this is what I was told by hotel staff. There's a small shopping center with various restaurants in very close walking distance, which was nice to go to for dinner. In the mornings, the hotel does complimentary breakfast. It's pretty basic items but it's still nice having it. For the price it's definitely worth it, and if I find myself needing a place to stay in the area again, I would certainly return. read more

Stayed 2 nights. First night power outage as soon as we checked in. Maintenance stated power outages have been occurring since they opened 6 months ago. Asked for a quiet room away from elevators. Crying baby next door along with kids coming in and out of the room with the door slamming from 9 pm until 6 am. Got a text from home 2 suites employee (Patricia) asking how my stay was? I said terrible because of all these problems and haven't slept because of the noise. I'm still waiting for my reply Patricia. Called Hilton and they said there was no manager available to address concerns. Hilton asked employees about power outages and they said they "weren't aware of such power outages." My mom fell outside on their unsafe, unmarked, non ADA complaint curb. Now they have cones and caution sticker tape on the curbs at the entrance.... They REFUSE to give her the incident report and its been over a week. In fact, one manager handed her a blank form and rudely said have your insurance company call us because you dont need one! The employees are disrespectful and are NOT concerned for the safety and well being of their guests. She is still waiting for the General Manger to call her...nothing! This hotel ruined the visit. We received excellent customer service in all areas: front desk, housekeeping, breakfast, etc. We were able to bring our small dog and stay on the first floor near the back entrance which was very convenient. The kitchenette had a full size frig and with Trader Joe's across the way, it was easy for our extended stay. The location was great with plenty of food options and shopping across the street. There were a lot of families as well as trades people ( early risers) so the hotel is busy but no issues. We only had good feedback from our attendees as well. read more

Caveat Emptor. Avoid at all costs. Full price and half the amenities. Definitely not up to Hilton standards. Con: No Pool, spa or TV during our stay. Management is non-responsive to issues at hotel. We booked a few days at this location and called to check that amenities were available, we were assured that they were. We arrived and the pool and spa were closed for maintenance the entire time. The 2nd night the cable for TV service went out and was out for 2 days. After a long day of exploring the area, we came back to an overpriced hotel with no pool, no spa, no TV. Shower has low pressure and never gets hot enough even on ultimate setting, so plan accordingly. So when you return from your beautiful day of aquarium, wharf, shore, dunes and other fun events; remember there is most likely nothing waiting for you at the hotel but a dead TV, closed/broken pool and spa, and low water pressure on a tepid shower, so take your time. Your paying for a bed and breakfast. Enjoy. We left a message on each day with front desk for the manager to contact us in regards to compensation for lack of services/amenities and never once were we contacted. Such a shame that the owner/management team couldn't be bothered to comp price or points or at the very least even return our requests for contact. Still no contact over a week later after leaving a couple requests. A shame really as it is located in a beautiful area. Pro: The breakfast staff are top notch, everything is spotless and clean. We stayed here for 4 days, our kids loved it. We had a King bed suite which was perfect for a family of four. The kitchen was what attracted us along with being close to so many quick restaurants and the Target was the bonus. The suite had a nice sized fridge, dishes with a dishwasher. We were able to go pick up a few groceries from Target! Starbucks was right around the corner as well. The king sized bed was super comfortable, even the pull out full sized bed for the couch was comfy for our kids. They have a small indoor pool that was nice but enjoyed the jacuzzi more. This establishment does allow dogs which I'm not opposed to but it seems everyone had large dogs that made the one only working elevator stink! This was the only thing that was frustrating is they only had one elevator working. So it always was busy and had to wait. The front staff doesn't really speak when walking in and have a straight face when asked something. I had to stop at the desk a few times and they were dry. Not rude but not as friendly as a lot of other hotels we've checked into before. The free breakfast was just okay, just enough to fill us until we got food that tasted amazing. Otherwise we will try this location again when we return. read more

I booked a reservation here back in March. Now that it's July, this is a very long overdue review. We were excited to stay here, especially after knowing that it was brand new. When I arrived to check in, the hotel was still a complete mess and under massive construction. The property manager, Greg said that it was a minor "plumbing" issue and the grand opening was delayed. Things happen and I understand that not everything may happen according to plan, however some sort of notice would've been good. I received no notice, email, call, etc. Greg promised us full refund for the inconvenience of our stay. However, he fails to answer any phone call, any email, and completely ignores any issues. I've called the front desk multiple times to try to get a hold of him, and I've been told nothing but "he'll call you back". Not once did he EVER return my call. The front desk staff also told me "if he's not getting back to you, I'd just let it go". excuse me, but if we're looking upwards of $700, I'm not "letting it go". I filed a dispute with Hilton but it was initially not approved because "The hotel has confirmed that the cardholder occupied room". The hotel literally WASNT OPEN. This is an absolute joke and the hotel + property manager care about nothing except the money coming in. After 2 hours on the phone with Hilton, they finally confirmed that I most definitely did not occupy a room with them and processed the refund that the hotel should have provided me with 4 months ago. What a joke of a property manager and what a joke of their customer service skills. Greg manages both Home2Suites and the SpringHill across the street. We used to love to stay here but this week was horrible - disappointed and frustrated. We stayed at Rm 106 (next to the patio area & my daughter at Rm205. The rest of my family in different rooms. Totaling 4 rooms. We planned to have bonfire get together that night but to our surprise the patio was rented by private party. Nightmare started when we rested in our room around 2pm- my wife suffering from chronic heart failure- we couldn't rest. The music so loud and the sound system right next to our window /bed. I complained but the receptionist said the patio was rented privately - cannot do anything about it - manager not available and no room to be transferred. Called Hilton Corporate Office - they just got the same answer. I finally decided to call the Marina CA police station and kudos to them - they went to action right away. The party has no security either and alcohol was served. Safety of the hotel guests should comes first. Home2 Suites at the Dunes by Monterey ruined our family weekend getaway. There is a man named Morgan who is obviously the night desk person. I was confirming our stay and this man is sarcastic, rude, initiated, a change in my reservation against my specific request not to touch it. When I discovered that he had initiated the change anyway over a bathtub query, he virtually snapped at me. I'm just not used to that from a Hilton. Both my husband and I are Hilton diamond members separately, and we love the chain. This Morgan needs to be trained on customer service and be told to practice to be nice to people. I have never been hung up on before when I'm simply asking a question. Hilton does not need cranky people on the night shift. This is my second contact with him and I am more than annoyed at the treatment I received by a stranger. He said "well ...contact the manager (Murphy)and see if he'll do something about it." and hung up the phone abruptly. I booked a one bedroom suite, and this is what we expect to get. And now he's changed my reservation so we will see... My yelp review is merely on the rudeness, condescending, and may I just say hostile communication of just one person:Morgan Update! Hotel was new, clean and very spacious rooms. Staff was very friendly and were diligent at replenishing the breakfast items in the morning. I also really appreciated that they offered free breakfast (great array of choices) and allow pets! As an electric vehicle owner I think it's super valuable that they have electric chargers on site so you can charge without leaving the hotel. They were still in process of setting them up during our stay but I would definitely return and drive the electric car next time. read more

The hotel was very clean. The breakfast was decent considering it's fast and free. The rooms were spacious and also very clean. The water pressure was a little low and the hot water was a little hit/miss but doable. I want to commend two ladies at the front desk, Jasmine and Eva. And I think I met them all! I gave it one star because I was forced to. I didn't even stay at this hotel. For over a month I have tried to contact their main person, Navdeep, who manages room blocks. Took her a week to return my email. In the email she said to let her know if I had any questions. I did and promptly sent them. That was 3 weeks ago. Still no response. When I had previously called the hotel asking how to speak to this person I was told they worked from home and had no idea how to get ahold of them. So this past week I called the hotel and asked to speak to Greg, the manager. Told by someone named Patty that he wasn't available. I told her the situation. And I said it seems your hotel doesn't want my business. I needed 12 rooms for 2 nights each. She took all of my information and said we will contact you back by the end of the week. Never heard from them. I refuse to give business to them and the other hotel they own, the Springhill suites, which is in the same parking lot. I will look elsewhere for a block of rooms. And will tell everyone I know who visits the area to not stay there. Which is too bad because I like the Home 2 Suites hotels. read more
