Comfortable, clean, convenient and affordable. The rooms are spacious and clean. Beds are King size and comfortable. Bathrooms and towels are clean. No Dressers or drawers to put your clothes in. Our room was facing the main road and you can hear some traffic but it's not horrible. We had the air conditioner on so it helps. They offer FREE coffee, tea, water and ice to fill up your water bottles. I took off 1 Star.... My only complaint would be the parking. We couldn't find a parking at the hotel after dark. The hotel is surrounded by apartments so I'm sure people from other places park there. There's only 30 or so parking spots and it's Not monitored which I wish they would do. Maybe give us a parking pass to put on the car or something and tow the ones who don't belong. My husband had to park a block and half away. If you need a convenient, clean and easy place to stay, give this hotel a try. Nice and simple hotel located in a small city right outside of Monterey. Easy check in and quick upon arrival. Clean rooms with basic necessities. Wifi not the strongest but you can get by with it. On the first floor near reception has a little cocoa/ hot coffee bar. It was pretty yummy, believe or not. Also, with the cool weather here, it was nice to fet something warm into the body. . I feel the room may have felt small upon entering but it was roomy.enough Upon entering room, you are welcomed by a bench to sit and remove shoes and put them in the shelf underneath. Then a full length mirror and across was the bathroom. Keep walking, you have a work desk and next to it is a table with chairs.. This probably could have been set up near the window if you wanted to and it would opened up that area a bit. Note: the TV unit is on same side and underneath is microwave and refrigerator and coffee maker. Across this are two King size beds. Overall, the stay was good. Honestly I don't understand why this hotel has bad reviews. My friend and I planned a summer vacation with our kids to Monterey. We decided on this hotel because it had THREE king size beds in a very spacious room . I even had space to put my baby's pack and play next to the bed . We got this room at a bargain price and it was only 15 mins drive from Monterey Bay aquarium. We spent two nights here with a baby , a toddler, and two kids and it was wonderful. They even have a juice/coffee/hot chocolate bar downstairs, free or charge ! This was a hit for the kids . Also as women traveling alone with our kids this was a very safe area and hotel . Stayed here for a vacation to Monterey aquarium. It is a good 15-20 min away but we didn't mind that. Pricing was well worth it. We got a three king room and it was perfect! We have four little ones and it was the perfect room for us. So spacious and clean. Great area and parking. The hotel staff was very sweet didn't have any issues with anyone. The only thing I would say is that I don't think they clean rooms unless requested. For us it wasn't a huge deal, but if it is for you definitely let them know in the morning. This will definitely be our go to hotel when visiting! read more

Rooms were great, but I did not appreciate being charged for an upgrade fee for an upgrade they were not able to accommodate. Almost a month later and in constant communication with the hotel and corporate and they can't resolve it. I NEVER leave reviews but this one I had to so other people dont get to experience the horrible way as I Did. STAY AWAY from this hotel. the staff was extremely rude when we checked in then the room was old and not updated as pictured. The noises from the road was loud and we had a hard time sleeping at night. We had an event on the day of our check out time which was 12pm so I talked to the staff 2 days before we checked out and requested for later check out time which I normally do without any issues with Hyatt or Marriott hotels. The staff said they can not do late check out at all and we came to an agreement for 30$ more and they can extend the check out time to 3pm and GUESS WHAT. at 1250pm, the front desk called my room and told my wife that we need to get out of our room in 10 mins and my wife was like we already requested for late check out at 3pm for 30$ but she was super rude to my wife. So I came back at 1255pm and talked to her at the front desk and she said there is no such thing for 30$ 3pm check out, she is going to charge me 1 night fee. I told her the staff from last night made a notes in the system and why everything changed over night and this was not reasonable giving us 10 mins to get out of our room. I told her just simply pull the video footage from the hotel cameras ( there were at least 7-8 in the lobby ) so she can hear exactly what the staff said to me the night before check out and I even have a witness with me from last night for 30$ for 3pm check out. She got mad and started yelling and even slam the door in front of me and told me to get out of her hotel and she is going to call the police. I told her please call the police so we can review the footage from last night and see who is lying here but she refused and she said she has no access to the videos. This was the worst ever experience we ever had with any hotels we ever stayed and we stayed at least 30-40 nights yearly. so do yourself a favor and stay away from this hotel. We were here for Sea Otter Classics and apparently they do not like customers with bikes and I am not sure why. Near the beach... The hotel is located on the outskirts of Monterey in a quiet town of Marina, just 11 miles from the Cannery Row in Monterey. Our stay here was decent. Check-in was quick and easy and the desk clerk was nice and friendly. The lobby very spacious with contemporary furnitures in the sitting area. The only noisy experience we had was from the room immediately next to us (family with kids blasting their music and kids running around). If they weren't going to be quiet by 10:00p we were going to report to the front desk. Thankfully, they calmed down. The room included two King beds, flatscreen TV, a small fridge and a microwave. The room was clean and beds were comfy. I like how roomy the bathroom is. Water feels like my water softener at home. Love! Complimentary breakfast was offered from 6:00-10:00a which we took advantage of on our first of two nights' stay. They have a waffle maker and choices of muffins, pastries, cereal, or fresh fruit to go with coffee or fruit juices. The dining room is clean and spacious with plenty of table seating. Across the street is an Asian/Filipino store/market and a few choices of restaurants. We walked across the street to dine at the Korean restaurant on our last evening. This Ramada is smaller than others I've stayed at but it provided what I expected: a decent night's stay and adequate parking. Our room was a bit outdated with its furniture, carpet, and light fixtures. Plus it smelled stale. But the room had a microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. The complimentary breakfast the next morning was as expected: cereals, yogurt, bagels, muffins, hard-boiled eggs, juice, coffee, tea, waffle-maker. TLDR: it's a clean hotel that has the basic amenities. If you need a place to stay and nothing else, i would highly recommend. Pros: first and foremost it's clean, front desk guy was pretty friendly, neighborhood was safe, it was the cheapest hotel chain in the area, really if you need a basic place to stay I'd say it's a good deal. Beds were comfy! The complimentary continental breakfast was cool, even though their breakfast room was closed and we had to use the employee break room, it still had everything we could have wanted. Breakfast burritos, a microwave, milk, juices, waters. Good stuff Cons: so they were in the middle of a remodel, in fact the weekend i stayed they were doing the photo shoot for the rooms to go on the website, so that might be why i had this experience but here's how it went: First of all the room had NO closet. No hanging rod or hangers. NO ironing board, and NO iron. This was unfortunate as i brought a shirt that needed to be ironed. I had to wear a wrinkly shirt that day. There was NO desser, but a big blank area where the dresser was probably supposed to go? There were no drawers anywhere. The TV was sitting on a shelving, so no drawers there. There was a desk, but no drawers there either. There was even an ottoman thing, but with no drawers, just a shelf. None under the bed either. So if you're looking to take clothes and put them away while you stay, you're gonna be annoyed. The bathroom was nice and freshly remodeled, but it had a couple quirks. First, it was the kind of shower with no real division between shower and bathroom and rather than a glass door to get in the shower it was just a curtain. This meant we needed more towels than usual to line the floor but okay. My bigger issue was the shower, although nice, and contrary to the room that had an over abundance of shelving, the shower had NO shelving on it. So i was taking a shower and look around to grab the little complimentary shampoo and soap, and it's nowhere to be found! Where could it be ? I looked around the floor of the shower as well. Nope. I did find it eventually, it was on the countertop of the bathroom. This meant of course that I had to step across the bathroom to get it, thereby dripping water on the floor. After i grabbed it and used it, i realized again that, well, i had nowhere to put the soap and shampoo. Because there was no little shelf on the wall! So i just placed them on the floor in the corner. Again i don't know if the room wasn't really finished and they were trying to pass it off as finished? My third and final complaint was that the refrigerator was broken. It was not cold. No matter what i did to the dial, it was not cold. I told the guy and he was super nice and said he could bring another fridge to me, but i said that's fine I'm checking out in the morning anyway and have an ice chest and he should replace it for the next guests. Oh yeah and the only working ice machine was on the first floor. That didn't bother me too much though. The breakfast was cool, but since it was about the size of a Walk in closet there was no where to sit, but that's Okay we were leaving anyway. When i checked out i sort of expected him to give me a discount for all that trouble. But i guess not. Again overall it's a fine place to stay, just don't expect too much. read more

This was a great overnight destination, why? Here are my reasons: 1) Location: This hotel is located in Marina. Marina is a small town outside of Monterey. It's away from the touristy Monterey and it's a newer town than Seaside. It's about 15 minutes to Monterey and about 30 minutes depending on traffic, to Santa Cruz. 2) Price: After reading some of the reviews on certain search engines, I decided on spending a night here and that this was the best value. I could've spent more money and stayed some place fancy, but I'm gonna be sightseeing, and needed a decent place to sleep. Ramada was perfect. 3) Room: The room was huge! It came with two queen beds, a nice dinette table and chairs, a bigger than personal size refrigerator, a sitting chair, coffemaker, and a microwave. 4) Free breakfast: They offer free breakfast, it consisted of oatmeal, danishes, muffins, bagels, boiled eggs, fruit, and do it yourself waffles. There's also coffee, juices, and milk. 5) Staff: Friendly, helpful and professional. We just checked in for the Veteran's Day weekend for room 312. I went straight to the rest room and saw something out of the corner of my eye run. I turned to my left towards the bathtub and saw a pile of roaches scatter from the light. I took multiple pictures but was only able to get one clear picture due to the shock. This place has gone downhill from what it use to be. The front desk young lady with no hesitation started to process our refund and rushed the process due to multiple people coming in through the front door. Please beware and check your room if you do attempt to stay here. I asked for the manager and was told she was in the back, but after the refund was processed and I asked for her again the front desk lady stated she was not here. I don't write reviews often unless I feel the need to.. My Husband and I love Monterey. As a matter of fact, we're looking to buy our first home in the area (Marina, to be specific). The Hubby and I decided to spend my birthday weekend in Marina to explore the area as future residents. We had appointments scheduled for Saturday, 8/22/20, to view some homes. Even though Hyatt Monterey hotel is our go to, we booked 3 nights with Ramada from 8/20-8/23 because it was closer to the community where we were looking to buy. Unfortunately, due to the smoke from the wildfire, we were forced to stay indoors. Monterey county advised all travelers to return home to free up hotel rooms in case their residents need to evacuate from their homes and occupy the space. In addition to this, we were afraid that the roads leading back home (San Jose) will be closed off since the fire was very close to the freeways. We decided our safest and best bet would be to check out Friday night, or two days early. When we got to the lobby, there was no one available at the front desk. I grabbed all the luggage, and took it to the car while Hubby finds an employee to assist with check out. Hubby came out of the hotel, and said that an employee - who was occupied with some other work - passed by and asked him to leave the room key at the desk. Hubby did that. The employee said the receipt will be emailed to us. We reached out to American Express and asked if they can consider giving a refund for the nights we did not stay, but there was nothing they can do because Ramada disagrees with the refund. Ramada said that when we checked out, they told us that they wouldn't refund us, and that we agreed to it verbally. That is not true. Ramada came back a second time and said that we signed an agreement (unclear what agreement they were referring to, but thinking it's the one where you sign during check in to charge the card for any incidentals). The reason for this review is because Ramada displayed dishonesty in their level of customer service. Hubby and I understand that we may not get our money back when we decided to put in refund request with Amex. We rather hear from Ramada that there is nothing they can do rather than have them put words in our mouth. As such, we will no longer look at Ramada for accommodations, and will not recommend it to any of our friends, family, and relatives. read more

Reserved via 3rd party after finding an average of reviews both here and on another site, that gave the impression this was a bargain 3 star hotel close to the Monterey Aquarium where we were planning on taking out children. Initial visit to the lobby looks grand and re-modeled. Very modern and clean. However the luggage dolly was broken and falling apart. We were assigned a 2-room suite per our reservation on the 3rd floor. Elevator was stained and had control panels falling off. Entered room. Paint looked new, and mattresses appeared new. The rest of the room and bathroom made me concerned for our 2 night stay with a 1 year old toddler, as the rooms were filthy! Carpet un-vacuumed, counters not wiped or cleaned. Broken table in the "lounge area" next to the couch. So much so, that you couldn't set a glass of water on the table without the glass falling off. Stains covered the office chair, bathroom and coffee tray, ice box and microwave. The alarm clock looked like someone had sneezed on it and then wiped it with their hand. The same can be said for the appearance of both phones that had no-power to them. Good luck calling down to the front desk in these rooms. Bathrooms covered in dust & pubic hair and residual glue where they had glued the back-splash of the shower to the tub. Sink filthy and an earring left from the previous guests in plain sight on the bathroom counter. I went down to the front desk at 8pm on our first night asking to shorten our stay to 1 night, given the wreck of a room, and the night manager said they couldn't do that because we had booked through hotels.com I spent 2 hours calling our 3rd party booking service, and they said they couldn't cancel our 2nd night under 24 hr notice. The next night, we moved one of our girls to the pull-out couch. I opened the couch to find 3 drug-sized plastic baggies and a bloody stain on the pull-out couch mattress cover. Then found a coin purse, and child's block labeled "Soup" from a play-kitchen sitting on top of the television. When I found the baggies, I nearly lost my mind! I took all 6 items (earring, coin-purse, child's block, and 3 baggies) to the operating manager at the desk. I set down each item explaining where we found it, visibly explaining my disgust. What did he say? He said: "Well, I know a kid will be missing this" and left. Walked away. Was not interested in rectifying the issue, in the slightest. I went back to room and started packing. As I lifted the sheets, 2 cockroaches crawled out from under them. I kid.you.not. It is obvious now, the owners do not care to pay more money for house-keeping or maintenance of this establishment. I just wish I could have found out before our stay. I've worked customer service jobs my entire life and was appalled by the way this hotel was run. You get what you pay for here. We paid a fair price for two king sized beds. It's honestly pretty clean except for the coffee stains on some of the chairs. There was also a very small stain on one of the bed sheets, but the sheets were obviously washed so we didn't care too much. Luckily, we didn't experience any cockroaches or mold like some of the other reviewers experienced. It also came with a complimentary breakfast (not your typical complimentary breakfast though). The breakfast comes in paper bags that contain granola bars, biscuits, and a frozen breakfast burrito that you just heat up in the microwave. Like I said, you get what you pay for so I can't really complain. We got a nice sleep for a cheap price so we're just happy about that. Also our check it was at 4:00pm we arrived at 5:40pm, so it's understandable with all of businesses hurting for people right now that there would be a delay in our check in. I was pleased he did such an amazing job. The elevator to the 2ed floor was older, and tented to get stuck on the 1st to the second floor (Vice versa). The rooms was spacious, and I always check my bedding. The lines were extremely clean. Towels looked clean, but had a very pungent smell when wet. So even after showering you felt dirt, and insecure if you smelled like the dirty wet towels. The restroom was clean but again older so they needed some tlc ( scraping and replacement of caulking around tube (due it it being moldy) , updated furniture), but all and all good for the price. Dislikes : The only thing I didn't like was the doors to the rooms, always seemed like somebody was trying to enter our room. We end up putting a band-Aid over the peep hole, and the ironing board and chair in front of out door to insure your safety while sleeping. Other patriots complained of the same issue. There was an extreme amount of traffic in the hallway. Also the second day we were there the carpets were scheduled to be clean, and the dirty water made the rooms smell so bad (like dog pee). The oder was overwhelming. Again parking was a little on the tighter side for my liking, (for lager tuckslike mine) entering and exiting was tight. Unfortunately the last day we had scheduled to stay, we had to leave early due to a code red for Lassen County and our home possibly be evacuated due to the fire. read more

I booked the room here when I saw the nice picture on Booking.com, it has very nice exterior and very clean look. When I called and asked for ADA room, the clerk held one for us and let us check in early as well, he was so helpful when we checked in, gave us recommendations for local restaurants when we asked. Me & my family booked through Expedia but before I booked I went on yelp to read the review and all of them were bad reviews BEFORE this Ramanda was renovated. Then it got 4 positive reviews after the renovation so i gave it tried. For the price i couldn't pass it up. But at 1st I was really doubting about this Ramanda. I stayed 2 nights and their staff were very friendly and I stayed in room 103. On Saturday and Sunday they weren't doing no renovation but Monday when we checked out they were still under renovation but me and my family didn't mind it since we were leaving any way. I love the check out at 12pm because i have a 6 year old and a 21 month old so I need that extra time instead of checking out at 10am or 11am and feeling rushed to leave. Our room had holes in the wall, the pillow had a coffee stain and was likely never washed and the dressers weren't cleaned and still had a tried tomato seed from the previous guest. When I brought these concerns to the attention of the owners, they were dismissive, defended their cleaners and made no effort to improve our experience. The receptionist was the kindest, cleaned up the room and was apologetic. The other encounters I had with the owners were very unprofessional, especially when they hesitated to get off a personal call to answer my questions. A good hotel for a place to crash, which is exactly what we did. Rooms are dated and a little sparse, but clean and the bed is comfortable enough. The bathroom is large and there is plenty of room to move in the shower. We were right next to the elevator which really worried me because I am a light sleeper. But honestly, I couldn't hear it even when my husband left to get some water and I deliberately listened to see how noisy it would be. We were here in January and it seemed very quiet like there weren't a lot of guests so maybe that helped with the noise levels. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast had some pretty good selections. Free parking, but you have to pay for wi-fi. read more

Amazingly friendly front desk staff. Clean rooms for a decent rate. Nice big comfortable bed. Flat screen TV. Free breakfast and wi-fi. I would def stay here again & recommend it to others visiting the Monterey Bay Area. It's such a short drive to monterey. read more

Don't recommend. Not worth it. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, the water pressure was too low, you could hear the exterior cars all night long from the window, there was NO drawers in the room to put your clothes in nor was there a closet! Not even a rod to hang your clothes. You could hear your neighbors snoring at night, the fridge made a loud noise all night long, the pillows were not confortable and the continental breakfast was subpar. Not worth the price. You are better off going to the motel 6 across the street . read more

Check in, good. (Receptionist was nice) Parking, good. (Plenty of space) Wifi, ok. Breakfast, ok. (Waffles, pastries, hard boiled egg etc) Microwave/fridge, good. Beds (2 king size) was excellent! Bed sheets/comforter, has a smell that I couldn't sleep good the first night. It smell like it did not dry well enough in the dryer. Towels has stains, not sure if it's clean. Bathroom has molds. Carpet needs vacuuming. Cleanliness needs to improve a lot. They need to catch up with Holiday Inn or Best Western. We were in the 2nd floor and we can hear footsteps from upstairs. Elevator was fast. Would I come back... yes, not bad for the price, not far from Monterey. read more

Disappointed customer: I'm surprised that my room had no COVID precautions in place!! I reserved a suite that was dusty and dirty. Looked like no one had cleaned it in weeks. There was M&Ms on the floor base of the bed and trash in the corners of the room. The phone, coffee maker, and ice bucket was dusty and filled with dirt. I was excited about our room because I noticed the fireplace in the pictures prior to booking. I get there and the fireplace hasn't been working for a while which, the receptionist already knew it didn't work. I let Gema know our room was dirty and she just gave a careless "I'm sorry" and continued to her phone call. I paid too much money and would never come back to this hotel. Please book somewhere else especially during this COVID time. The people working here really don't care about CDC per cautious for COVID or care about their customers comfort. I only have one star because it's close to the beach. read more

I was close to giving this place a five, the staff were amazing and I got some complimentary shaving utensils. The gym, however was not up to snuff, if you don't mind no gym or just want to do cardio, this place is definitely worth a 5/5. read more

The most foul place EVER. The door lock was broken, the bathtub didn't work. Water came out orange and rusty. It smelled like cigs soooo bad in our "nonsmoking" room. Management refused to refund or offer ANY kind of solution. Never again will I go back. I got a 2 bedroom suite thinking it would raise the bar for comfort, service and cleanliness. We COvid, this was more than I could tolerate. read more

Be aware people and read reviews before you come to this place . Unfortunately I didn't read ,second time i my life I had a chance to stay in such a bad place . It has dirty carpets,bathroom, refrigerator and microwave, and most of all in cockroaches, it's disgusty. I will never come back to this hotel . read more
