This fabulous hotel continues to deliver! From the greeting you receive when you enter (Joanne is a delight), to the room, the views, the wonderful breakfast - SpringHill Suites is our number one choice when visiting the area. Large, clean, well appointed rooms, with ample storage. Lovely lobby. Terrific breakfast offerings and ample seating. Don't forget to visit the rooftop area for superb views.

We had been looking forward to our stay at Springhill Suites by Marriott The Dunes. The hotel is located in a great location with lots of stores and restaurants across the way. Checkin went smoothly. Unfortunately, as soon as we entered room, we turned on tv to watch local newscast but TV was not working. We called it in. Tech arrived before we left for dinner. Tech informed us he would not be able to fix since the actual monitor was broken. He told us we would likely need to be moved to new room. We let manager know as we left. But she informed us they were sold out of rooms. She invited us to come watch the tv's located in the main lobby if we needed a television. When we returned after dinner, we could not find any parking. We quickly realized we were one of four families with the same issue. We had to park in the parking lot of the adjacent hotel. Manager told us that was the best option for us for the night. Couldn't sleep worried we would get towed. The positive side of our stay: great location, room was nice and comfortable, staff were friendly, breakfast was very nice with great options. When checking out, the manager did provide us Marriott points for the inconvenience of not having a working television in our room. We appreciated that.

We made a last minute booking for this location and used my Bonvoy points for our road trip up north. It's located in a nice area with The Dunes across the street that includes a Trader Joe's and numerous restaurants and shops. The hotel was clean and modern with a shared parking lot with a Hilton. I only had to interact with the front desk once because I automatically received my key via the app. The room was clean and includes a mini fridge and microwave with a seating area. The TV is oddly placed and doesn't fully turn towards the bed. Also the bed is right in front of the bathroom which is not great but that's the designer flaw. Breakfast was ok but they should really include a protein option for non-meat eaters, like Beyond sausage.

Absolutely 1,000% recommend this place this is one of the nicest SpringHill Suites we've been to and they have breakfast sandwiches not the ones where you make yourself but they actually have ready made and they had quiche this is probably the first time I've seen quiche for breakfast at any SpringHill Suites front desk is very courteous and very welcoming the place is brand new has great views lots of seating area inside and outside and has gym facility and swimming pool facility very easy to walk across the street Trader Joe's Target and many other stores within walking distance nearby we even at parking for our RV which was a nice bonus unexpected they can get crowded as we were told that this is the most popular and busy of the Marriott properties in the vicinity lots of development going on the area is super trendy super nice and very accessible to many nearby things to do. And absolutely have to give a shout out to friont desk gentleman named Mickey who helped us out and also was very nice to Grandma traveling with us

This hotel exceeded all of my expectations! The staff truly goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome. A special thank you to Mickey, Alex, Freddy, and Stanley for their outstanding customer service. They were incredibly attentive, genuinely caring, and always willing to help with a smile. I can't say enough good things about them! The hotel itself is spotless, with clean and spacious rooms that are very comfortable. The location is fantastic, and honestly, the photos don't do it justice. One of my favorite features was the pool area, surrounded by windows that offer ocean views. The outdoor spaces are equally impressive, with cozy fire pits on both the terrace and the rooftop perfect for relaxing in the evening. If you're looking for a hotel with exceptional service I highly recommend staying here!

More dirty pool photos and it wasn't that warm

The hotel had free parking and close to the strip mall. The breakfast was ok and the coffee was good. The staff were friendly. However, the maintenance of the place was poor. I had mold in grout of my bathroom shower pan. I also noticed the metal soap was sprayed white but the tile was also painted, sloppy workmanship. The shower pan I noticed had paint too in different spots. The bathroom has white spots on the wall. The elevator was missing a down arrow cover. The pool's walls were very dirty. There was dirt about the water line running along the entire pools. The gym's water filter needed changing. Finally I received a notice stating due to my length of stay (2 days) my room wasn't going to get cleaned until I leave. Unfortunately I will not stay here in the future

The hotel makes you feel super welcome the moment you walk in. We stayed in a bay front room with the the most incredible sunsets and sunrises. To get to your room they provide a shuttle from the parking lot right to your room. The rooms are new and modern with plenty of space and partially stocked. There is also room service if you want it. There is also a restaurant on the grounds but make a reservation. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained and really clean and they offer complimentary teas and coffees in the lobby. If you're planning a trip to the Monterey or Carmel area I would definitely recommend the Sanctuary Beach Resort.

We paid around $1,000 for one night, so I arrived excited and expecting something special. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite. Many of the pet-friendly touches that influenced me to book were missing at check-in. There was no personalized dog welcome setup, no dog package, and my dog's name was not on the welcome sign until I called later. I had also requested a simple welcome card for my mother-in-law's first trip to California, and although staff said they would gladly do it, it was never done. We also had multiple room issues throughout the stay. The TV was not working, the phone buttons to reach the front desk did not work, there was no extra pillow for the fold-out bed, and there was even a leftover dog chew from a previous guest found in the bed. To be fair, the maintenance employee was kind and helpful, and the complimentary bottle of wine was appreciated. However, for this price point, the lack of attention to detail and overall service was really disappointing. What upset me most was checkout. I politely explained that I was disappointed and thought at minimum the pet fee might be removed, but there was no effort to make things right beyond emailing the receipt. Beautiful location, but the experience did not match the cost or reputation. I truly wanted to love this stay and left sad and let down instead.

They were spacious but the beds didn't feel that clean. The bathroom wasn't great. Water got everywhere because of how the shower door is designed and the bathroom is SO small. For reference, I am a petite 5'2" girl. If I stood next to the shower entrance, i couldn't even open the bathroom door. You have to get in the shower to open it, or literally be sitting on the toilet. The location to the beach was great though! And the fire pits were a nice touch. You just needed to bring your own lighter and s'mores materials if you plan on using it.

This. Place. SUCKS!…read more You can hear EVERYTHING. The engines and security beeps of every car in the parking lot. The obnoxious kids running and yelling endlessly up and down the hallway outside your door. The neighbor's TV and conversation and snoring in every room adjacent to your own. Every door opening and closing all night long.... And that's just OUTSIDE your room. Inside, the AC/fan is loud and the beds creak and groan every time you breathe. I barely slept might #1 and judging by the crowd of elephants that just entered the room next door, I won't get much more tonight as I'm typing this at 11 PM. The layout of the room is awful. As soon as someone opens the door, everyone inside is blasted by either the outdoor lights or the sun. The bathroom is ridiculously tiny. You can barely get inside to close the door to use the toilet. The shower curtain bar was falling out of the wall, drooping, and causing the curtain to continously slip to the middle of the bar, letting all the shower spray out onto the floor. And nevermind any soft or adjustable lighting--it's all harsh, bright light ricocheting across mirrors so no one can sleep if one person is up. The floor creaks when you walk and was filthy and gritty when we arrived. There's mildew and mold in most corners and all over the bathroom. The toilet seat is such flimsy, cheap plastic you can't sit on it without it sliding half of the toilet or bowing under you. Did I mention that you will hear all the screaming and crying children on either side of you all hours of the night? The parking lot was NEVER full, but the place still put everyone in consecutive rooms when clearly there were empty rooms that could have been used to space us all out to make buffers for noise since this place has zero soundproofing. The room as a whole was grimy and dirty. Stuff on the walls, paint peeling, bathroom and bathtub surfaces cracked, rusted, and moldy. Absolutely disgusting. The only positives I can cite are the blackout curtains (worked well) and that there was a mini-fridge and microwave in the room. The continental breakfast was okay, too. But if you actually want to sleep on your trip, don't stay here. This place clearly does not care one bit about helping you get a decent night's rest. Never. Ever. Again.

That was a bit frustrating as we have a 10-month old we just drove with for a couple hours. Either way, we went a couple blocks down the road and had some pizza while we waited for the room. Now for the room, when we arrive, the door to the full-size refrigerator was open. Therefore, the refrigerator was not cold at all and the groceries we brought would have to stay in the cooler until the refrigerator became cold enough. Upon my investigation, when the door to the hotel room opens, the handle briefly attaches to the door of the refrigerator, pulling that open as the heavy room door shuts. Voila - Sherlock Holmes has cracked the case! HA! Bathroom - a couple of issues here; the Water pressure - there was none! Also, there was no bathtub for the baby which we requested a room with a bathtub. Let's talk space and beds. It had two queen-sized beds, room was spacious enough for us 3 adults and baby. There was a couch which pulled out into a sleeper. Comfortable? NOT IN THE LEAST! The mattress on both beds seemed like they were a decade old and all you could feel were the springs, no soft comfort. The bed nearest the window loss it's springiness as you just sank right into the middle. Whoa! But I guess if you like super sinking springy beds, this would be to your liking. The kitchenette; you'll have to ask for a hot plate if you want to cook in your room. At first we were looking everywhere for it, because they don't mention upon check-in that they need to actually give one to you upon request. Also, the microwave above the sink was not working at all. No power at all, and upon our attempts to reach Yessenia at the front desk for assistance, they never picked up. So, again, Sherlock Holmes to the case and with the use of the ottoman to climb upon and check above the cabinetry, we found the appliance was not plugged in. Sheesh, these guys are making me work for my stay. Sherlock solves another case at this location. The pool area could be smelled from the hallway downstairs; I understand the use of chlorine, but whew it was strong. The pool was fine, not heated but not freezing. The hot tub had so much bubbles I wasn't sure what was going on in there, I did not attempt to make use of it. The bbq grill outside for use was nice, however, they do not clean it, so clean it yourself before use. Also, the bbq cooking utensils are also used by other guests, so again, be mindful of what you're cooking with. Breakfast is from 6am-9am in the morning and it was okay. They offer three types of cereal, boiled eggs, there's a waffle maker, bagels, muffins, toast, oatmeal, usually a type of protein (bacon, chicken, or sausage), and biscuits. They have regular milk, almond, and oat milk, as well as juice, coffee, and tea. I recommend not going too late because they will not make anymore food by the 8:30 mark. The woman said, no that's it, just what's left - which was cold eggs, waffle, and muffins. Yikes! Oh, also this is not a baby friendly place. There are outlets all over the place that are not guarded. Just a helpful hint for parents out there. Unfortunately the check-out process with Yessenia was not great. She appeared to be annoyed with a customer before me and continued on with me. I advised her that the customer service she was providing was not how a person in her position should be acting. Maybe she was having a bad day, but if that's the case, take a break and switch out with someone else. So would I stay here again, definitely not. Paying nearly $500 for this type of service and room is not worth it.
