Wonton Soup

Nothin too special but good enough would not come back as I live close to china town but was in the area and decided to try it.

Cold noodles with bean sprouts and cucumber

I've been searching for good liangpi and hand pulled noodles in the area and finally found some at Home Taste. The noodles were chewy and bouncy, not too thick and the chili oil sauce, bean sprouts and cucumbers provided the perfect balance between spicy, salty and fresh. We also enjoyed the pork and cabbage dumplings and the noodles with cumin lamb. Both were flavorful but my favorite was definitely the cold noodles. Service was quick and prices were reasonable. Will definitely be back to try more items!

Had a great dinner at Home Taste! Was able to enjoy a braised beef soup and it definitely was tasty. The restaurant was lonely on a Thursday afternoon, but picked up as the evening got darker. They did have a lot of to go orders which is amazing!

Excellent food and the hand pulled noodles is exquisite! I would definitely eat there again but more as takeout as i feel the indoor space is a bit disorganized and need some work. Service was good.

Pork & Leek dumplings

Simple authentic yummy Chinese eatery with basic decor in Arlington. If no one at counter, just ring bell for service. Good: - H5 sesame chicken is very good and tender. - H16 red braised pork belly is flavorful fatty pork in black sauce, goes well with potatoes. - pan fried dumplings are ok, nicely pan fried with good amount of meat filling. Ok: - D8 hand pulled noodles with chopped pork, bean sprout and mushroom is tasty good, though mostly noodles with little meat. - leek and pork dumplings are northern style with thick skin and modest filling

Great menu, very authentic. I asked for same as Asian gentleman was having, my bad, as the heat almost killed me. Will bring my Dad a nd wife who both enjoy spice more than I do. Great service.

Free thin noodles for spending above 25

The food was a little bland and low quality but I could see the chef was working with what they had. While it wasn't high in quality (you pay for what you get) it is definitely more authentic than your typical chinese American foods (which they also have on the menu). Cute mom and pop place!

The lamb cumin hand pulled noodles were 5/5. We didn't think the vegetable dumplings were as exceptional

Really delicious hand pulled noodles (we got cumin lamb noodles, and also the beef noodle soup). Scallion pancakes were less exciting.

Real authentic Chinese. Our 3 meals were delicious and the noodles the best that I have ever had. Can't wait to go back.

The waitresses are always attentive. My family loves the food here. I am skeptical of the negative reviews posted about this establishment. If you are a fan of spicy food, I recommend any of their dishes that has longhorn peppers in them. The heat from the peppers fires up your tongue but doesn't linger. The crunch of the peppers also adds a nice texture. The seasoning and sauces in the longhorn peppers dishes compliments the meat, be it beef or pork. I like their vegetable dishes too. The vegetables are singed on the outside but have that snap that reminds you of their freshness. All in all, I am a fan of this establishment and you should pay them a visit.

Sweet and sour everything!! So good!…read more This place never disappoints! We came for dinner on a Sunday night and it wasn't too busy. They have a lot of seating for small and big groups. I always like to order their hot pot of tea which was perfect that night because it was pretty cold outside. They have a huge menu which is always overwhelming but everything we have tried so far has been very good. This time we got the veggie dish that came with tofu, twice cooked pork, fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. Everything came out nice and hot and we quickly dove in! We wanted to finish everything but we left half of our food so we could have leftovers. I really liked the pork that night. It was very flavorful and the meat was nice and tender. The chicken was also very good and nice and tangy. The service is always really great. They really like to top off your tea pot with hot water even before you have a chance to finish it. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We had a really great meal and next time we will order some dumplings!!

For a late 2pm Saturday lunch I stopped by Taipei Gourmet. The establishment was one-third full, so…read moreI received a seat immediately. I ordered the beef noodle soup ($15.95) and vegetarian leek pie ($9.95). Both came out within 10 minutes. The beef noodle soup had the thin flat wheat noodle ubiquitous in Taiwanese noodle soups. The soup was well-flavored with stock. Too many of these sorts of places over-rely on soy sauce, making a salty yet thin and underflavored bowl. Not here. I will nitpick and say that I would like larger chunks of beef, not the sort of cubed stew beef you see at the supermarket. The vegetarian leek pie (as it's called in the menu) is a pastry stuffed with chive (not leek), egg, and vermicelli. It was decently salted and hot. The portion sizes were quite satisfying as well. Closing thought - this place has, so far, the closest to what I would consider a decent bowl of Taiwanese beef noodle soup I've had in the Boston metro area so far. I'm always on the lookout for it

I was in area for appointment. Opted to try for a first time as reviews are positive…read more Nice clean restaurant, sunny, nice lunch vibes. Service was strange... hot tea came to table right away and was watered down and minimal tea flavor. I ordered a sesame chicken lunch special which came with soup egg drop soup, spring roll , white rice. I ordered a side of beef teriyaki . Waitress asked 1 or 2 teriyaki ? I assumed how many teriyaki sticks or small or large options? I said 2. Egg drop soup and spring roll shows up with duck sauce... egg drop soup was very good. Spring roll was excellent and filling was fresh. Then Next 2 orders of beef teriyaki with 4 sticks each show up??? She takes away my duck sauce from my spring roll... and leaves me with no duck sauce for my beef teriyaki? I now ask for duck sauce for teriyaki? She brings out a hot spicy sauce instead of duck sauce ? The sesame chicken was very good but more sweet and sour sauce flavor than sesame ? The beef teriyaki was extremely tough meat and I had to ask for a knife to cut up? No glass of water as I saw other tables getting water? I had to ask for water as tea wasn't doing it for me ? Then another duck sauce shows up I didn't ask for but glad it did arrive and was needed? Teriyaki had great flavor but tough like beef jerky and one order would have been enough to tolerate without the confusion of getting 2 orders and then also charged for two ? I found the service confusing and not a smooth outing? Then both the waitresses disappeared while waiting for the check . I asked for a glass of water at this point. No fortune cookie, pineapple or exit offering with the check? All in all I was confused.. but I would eat again here and assume staff trying ... next time I'll be very clear what 1 vs 2 means. The menu does look many good options and convenience with parking, location and nice dining room. I would have rate 4-5 stars but the teriyaki wasn't tender and too tough to enjoy.

One of my favorite little lunch spots in the area. Simple, straightforward, no BS kinda casual spot…read morewith decently priced lunch specials and an acceptable culinary repertoire to back it all up. In fact, ever since the other Chinese spot changed ownership, I entirely switched to eating here whenever I want a quick sit down Chinese meal. The food is good. It comes out pretty fast. It's done pretty well. And the best part, it just doesn't remotely hurt the wallet. Even being a regular, I'm still amused at how the service is so stereotypical Chinese in the way that I'm just another soul coming in to be fed and not remembered or acknowledged. Mind you, I'm here a LOT and am usually the only one sitting there eating while delivery people repeatedly come and go. Anyways, two reasons why I'm unable to give them 5 stars. First, the tap water they serve...tastes like @#$%. I don't know what it is but I've actually started bringing my own water bottle (or just ordered a soda). Two, the steamed rice is inconsistent. Half the time, it's perfect. The other half...is wet and mushy (I want to say a reheat but isn't that just such a faux pax in Chinese cuisine?). Nonetheless, this is one of the few four and less starred places on my list that I will still continue to frequent and recommend to anyone in the area wanting a quick and decent meal for cheap!

Service was just ok. I needed water glass refilled but no one around? Same block as Home Taste ( some of best hand made noodles around). They have lunch specials which says hand written ad Mon-Fri only . On web site ... didn't say just Monday-Friday and hand written on menu in restaurant? Oh well regular price a lot higher than lunch special price . Add on 2.00 for white rice as no rice with the dish? The shredded dish was good flavors and would order again. I don't see returning... prices high I'll go next door to Home Taste again
