Reached out to coach Jason, and he definitely said he could work with her. We signed up for 4 private sessions, and after seeing the small improvements in a month, we signed up for 8 more. Facilities is waaaaaay out by barber point airport, but it is Big & spacious. There's a big open area to run & sprint, & there's an area with weights & gym equipment. My daughter does one session in the morning(930a) and another at night(7p) on different days, and obviously night is definitely cooler than the morning session. She tried 7a one time, but she realized it was too early for her. Coach Jason is AWESOME! He explains to us what she needed to work on and what he did for the day. There are tables under a big canopy tent to watch, and we love how he pushes & supports her. My daughter says she enjoys it, although her facial expressions during session says otherwise. But the results from coach Jason's training, she notices on and off the court, encourages her to have that "go get it" mentality and keep going back for more. We have seen Coach Paul on a few occasions and he is always friendly and acknowledges us. Mahalo coach Jason & phase 1 for helping us on the development of our daughter as an athlete. We look forward to continuing to come here for her, as well as the future when our 4 year old son can start training.

They started as a fill in during the off season only to turn into being a priority year round. Couch Paul is a huge motivator. It seems to me that he loves sports and the athletes just as much. No matter what sport, Phase 1 is there to train the athlete as a whole. You can see the effectiveness of the program when you see how hard the kids train for an hour or two and then walk away with a huge grin on their face. The coaches consistently take the time to stop, correct form, and give the kids opportunities to grow and improve. Every correction is done in a positive and encouraging way, which really motivates the players to keep getting better for themselves, their coaches, and their teammates. I'm very happy with the coaching my kids are receiving and the support they get not only from their coaches but from their teammates as well. Because many of the coaches are also parents, it's clear they genuinely want to see the kids succeed, and that really shows in the way they coach. When we decided to switch hockey programs on Oahu, my kids and I were welcomed with open arms. I'm incredibly grateful they had room for my kids and treated them as aspiring players from day one. He is always looking forward to practice and his games. HIHI does play on an outdoor rink and while they're working hard to get permitting for tiles and coverings, we are at the mercy of the elements (mainly rain / storms). The coaches and parents at HIHI are completely devoted to this program - they are there almost everyday coaching practice, coaching games and mentoring the keiki. They also offer pick up games throughout the different weeknights (and weekends after games) - open to anyone who wants to play. He was really enjoying basketball and didn't seem too keen on soccer (and actually hated judo although he was doing it the longest). Enter Nemesis Soccer Academy, founded this past summer (2018) by Ben Villaflor, who was a great soccer player in Hawaii. My son first said he was not interested in playing but decided to give it a shot because he found a pair of soccer shoes that he wanted to buy (and I refused to get it unless he played club soccer). Ben's vision and philosophy might be different than other clubs. The focus at my son's age (8) is on development of the individual player. It is to develop skill at your age and your ability - giving you the tools to grow as an individual. Yes, you are very much part of a team, but you're developing your ability in order to be the most successful you can be when all is said and done. Focus and the goal at this age is not on winning and goals - it is about developing skill, protecting the ball, being aggressive on the ball, ball control, touches on the ball and all the good stuff that comes with it. Yes, they will learn more to the game as the years go on. The boys at this age are given equal opportunity to touch the ball in games, play different positions and learn from each other. I'm shocked by how much skill my son (and really all the kids on his team) have picked up and have been able to use in games, and how much they have grown just in 3 months. Many on the team came from previous club teams so I can't speak to how it differs as my son didn't play club soccer before. But I've seen so much growth, enthusiasm, smiling and great attitudes. The boys are developing friendships, confidence and so much more. In just 3 months, my son went from not wanting to play to someone who will not stop kicking the ball around... the house, the park, I've found the ball in his bed while he's sleeping - it's everywhere. This store focuses on baseball equipment and apparel, including shoes, but also has a full indoor area for batting and pitching practice. They have a few dedicated stalls right outside up the ramp, ring bell to be let in. They have jerseys, cleats, gloves, belts, training gear, bats, balls, and anything else you could need. If they don't have the exact thing in stock, they can order it. The associate Ella working that day was very friendly and immediately helpful to find what I needed. I purchased shoes and a belt; they had just the sizes I needed and she was patient to help me find just the right things. I thought their prices were reasonable, plus it's great to support a local business over ordering online and potentially not getting what you need on time. I'd love to come back and check out the cages sometime soon. If you're a baseball fan or need equipment for school or community leagues, this is a great spot!

He has three teenage boys that are awesome baseball players. Anyway, the boy practices his hitting with Coach Jamie and most of the time, I am watching him hit. It gets really noisy in the batting cages. My watch tells me that it's too loud! There are screens up that would say where the ball potentially goes depending on how it is hit. It's pretty cool. Anyway, the batting cages make up a good portion of this space. The other portion is the store. The cashier is towards the back. Don't worry, they have to let you in if you are gonna buy something or even look around. I think the prices are fair. But I am not always buying pants, bats, or gloves. If you are a serious ball player, you must come here at least once to check this place out.

when I started golf 4 plus years ago and before meeting Dennis Scarpucci with Blackhawk, I was…read moreshooting well over 120 and it would have taken a miracle to break a 100 as my technique was absolutely awful, my balls went in every direction other then the direction I wanted it to go, I lost over 15 balls just playing 18 holes, etc. Then I met Dennis and he totally changed my game. Now I'm shooting low 90's and even broken 80 a few times, I actually now use the driver from the Tee (I was using irons as my driver was not nice to me if you know what I mean), my yardage have improved and I would say my overall game has improve as well. I brought my first year Mustang team to Hawaii Baseball Academy, as we had 4 players new to…read morebaseball and many were in their first year of the Mustang division. A good number of players were short arming their throws and didn't have the basics down. Hawaii Baseball Academy/Cory Ishigo set up a clinic for the kids, with four skills stations including stretching (throwing, catching for catchers, pitching and batting). From the start, I could see the kids developing better throwing motions and technique. I noticed many of the new players started throwing with much better velocity after the stretching and throwing drills. The kids really enjoyed the experience of the clinic (held at the Kailua High School baseball field) going from skill station to skill station, as well as training at a high school facility. The coaches were great, they were very supportive and positive. The stretching and throwing drills took the longest (2 hour clinic) which cut into the batting drills. We were running out of time so the batting drills were a bit rushed (hence the 4 star rating, otherwise 5 star for everything else), but I was very happy with the clinic overall. I also had my two boys take Cory's pitching clinic the week before and both threw with much better velocity and technique after the clinic. I highly recommend HBA/Cory to any parent that wants their child to receive proper and professional baseball instruction.
