My experience with the leadership and overall culture was much less positive. There appear to be clear favorites, and not every player seems to receive the same treatment, recognition, or opportunities. Player promotions can feel influenced by relationships rather than solely by performance, effort, and development. Team formation also raises questions. Many of the same players repeatedly end up together, creating a sense of established cliques and making it harder for players outside those groups to receive the same opportunities. I also did not feel that leadership advocated equally for players outside of their preferred club or circle. While having access to a nice indoor facility is a benefit, a facility alone does not develop a player. I have seen players with far fewer resources develop into amazing athletes through hard work, good coaching, and the right support. There is a lot of potential here, but greater fairness, transparency, and consistency from leadership would make a significant difference.

When my son feels like his hitting is off or if he isn't getting as much reps during practice, he asks me to make an appt with Vern. Vern is extremely patient and comes up with innovative ways to get the kids to learn the correct mechanics. Not only has he helped my son improve his swing, but he taught him when and which balls to swing at and take. Coming here has really given him confidence at the plate. We also see Duane at 808 Kaneohe for pitching. Although my son isn't a pitcher, we see him for arm strengthening and to keep his arm healthy. We first went to Duane when my son moved over to the bigger field. In just a couple of lessons, he was able to make the throw from catcher to 2nd. Because many of the coaches are also parents, it's clear they genuinely want to see the kids succeed, and that really shows in the way they coach. We are so happy that we were introduced to this gym by our family friend Olivia. We were able to…read moreget an introductory meeting with Phoebe who was very informative, understanding and answered all of our questions. This gym is conveniently located in latter half of Waipahu. It is on backstreet cul de sac - right hand side. One entrance and parking on the left side of the lot only. If there is no parking in the lot, then there is also street parking. The gym is spacious with flooring for tumbling, and different equipment to cater to the gymnastics classes. The coaches are so great too! My daughter has been going to private lessons with Coach Lawrence and Coach Kiana. She has been able to improve on her skills for her back handspring. They are very patient and willing to work with her at a progressive pace. They also help with her mental block, confidence and encourage her before, during and after practice. Even she notices the difference only after a few weeks of coming here. We truly appreciate the Coaches and team at Ohana Gymnastics. Highly recommened to anyone who is interested!

I signed my son up for one class for fielding workout. I went online to their website where there…read moreare all the classes with specific time slots. They only allow a certain number of students, so when that is filled they will close the class. You pay online and show up for your class. Parking is tricky since it is a small parking lot. There are a few customer stalls, but it is limited. When facing the warehouse it is in the far right inside corner. You must walk upstairs to the second floor (no elevator). There is a small waiting area for parents and the rest of the warehouse has Astro Turf and netting for practice. There's no check in desk, so you just come during your time and go see the coach. My son was having a bad day, so he missed the first 20 minutes of class. However, once he went and tried it, he ended up having a lot of fun. We have not had the opportunity to go back yet due to a busy winter season, but I am hoping to put him in some private lessons.

This one you need to head to Waipahu and turn left by the school then keep going straight til your reach the fields. There's quite a bit of parking stalls but just depends on how many games are going on at that area you're headed to. Most of our games this time around are at 14 so just look for the signs. Luckily the few times we've come we didn't need to use the restrooms or even know where they are. Watch the weather. Might be a good idea to bring an umbrella to protect yourself from the harsh sun or intermittent drizzle. Feel for the kids who are playing in the rain like this past Saturday. Thoughtful coaches put up a tent for their players comfort during pep talks or water breaks. You might want to bring a collapsible chair if sitting on a goza(mat) or the ground is not for you. In that case you may need to invest in a rolling cart cuz you'll probably pack some bottled water and snacks too along with your chairs and umbrellas. Good chance to soak in some natural vitamin D and watch or cheer for your favorite player or team.
