I love this gym but it's not quite 5 stars and I'll explain why. Lets first go through the…read morepositives of this gym. Pros: It's spacious, everybody is serious at this gym (no chit chatting/on their phone just sitting at the machine), parking is always readily available, they have a WOMEN'S SECTION (this is a huge plus for me!! Ladies, you'll love this section! No boys allowed!), lots of machines and free weights, music is always bumpin' with good music, lots of disinfecting stations. Although they are not opened 24 hours right now due to COVID, this place is great and I don't have to wait for any machines or weights. I can't wait till the classes open up so I could try it, too. Cons: They need to clean...and I mean clean the dusts on the walls and floors. This is minor and could be resolved quickly but it makes me wonder how often they clean when I see the same dust piles week after week in the same area. The women's restroom smells ALL the time. Not sure if there's a plumbing issue but I gag every time I go into the locker room. There's no WIFI... I was surprised they had no WIFI. Otherwise, great gym!

Its not a "family" gym at all. They play favorites. Machines are taken up by the large group trainings they have everyday. Machines are always broken. Big crowds at night that you cant even find a working machine. A/C is always broken. Large gym bags are everywhere. Men are always in the women section. Staff turn around rate is extremely high because staff is treated like disposable trash. The group trainings are formed in cliques and women who tear other down and compete against eachother. Instagram influencers are set up with their phones and tripods everywhere, especially at night. Bathrooms are not well cleaned. Its been a clown show since Dave left. No longer a serious bodybuilding gym since.

Mm. There are basically no places on Oahu that provide adult gymnastics and if there are, let me…read moreknow!! I stayed at work one day rather than go back to my home office in order to be closeby and attend the adult gymnastics class. Athough the facility was nice, it's really tiny. The size of a single company warehouse. They sure do get creative with the space - in that there was a private lesson happening and the kid was tumbling through our class space as well. This would be an amazing aerial studio (high ceilings) but it's pretty cramped, although I have to say they do their best to utilize the space efficiently. This review is for adult gymnastics only. In short: it's the kids class, with adults participating. Not very satisfying. And my warmup was led by like a six year old. As an adult participant, I was not impressed, but don't keep this from bringing your children.

Very disappointed with their customer service. I was charged all of my previous months on the 20th…read moreof every month so I emailed them on the 18th to cancel as per their policy is to cancel 48 hours prior to the billing cycle. Every single month we were charged on the 20th then I get an email from them saying that my billing date is the 17th. My charge did not go through for the next month yet and I cancelled 48 hours prior to when I was regularly charged yet they refuse to cancel the pending charge. Their customer service is horrible and they just seem money hungry. I have been to other locally owned gyms who would easily refund us if we emailed them 48 hours prior to when they bill but I guess this gym does not care about their clients. The overall gym is very small, there is another review for adult gymnastics that gives it 2/3 stars and I have to agree with them. You spend more than half the class stretching and maybe 10 minutes doing actually gymnastics. Sometimes you only do the activity once because of how little time you're given doing actual gymnastics. I would recommend another place that has two hour adult gymnastics for half the price!

I'm surprised this gym doesn't have a lot of reviews, so I guess write one. I was actually driving…read morenear the auto parts store and I noticed this garage that had a giant boxing ring in the back and a lot of different types of punching bags. Curious, I stepped inside and saw two guys in the ring with headgear sparring with each other. I also saw above me on the walls these giant pictures of all the fighters the gym trained. I was greeted by Coach Phil who looked a bit intimidating at first, but was very nice guy. He talked about how most people don't even know there's a boxing gym in Aiea, but said they were legitamate none the less. Going on to say that unlike other gyms boxing gyms where guys would have ego and start beef, BoxFit is about respect and honing your skills in order to get better. Whether you're an absolute beginner or an experienced competitor, Coach Phil said we're all learning new things everyday at our own pace. He said if I'm curious, come to a class (first one's free). If I like it, I can join. If not, no sweat. So I came the following Tuesday evening. Coah Phil said he normally swings by the gym during late evenings around 8pm so I would be trained by Coach Jazelle. I recognized her from one of the fighters pictured up on the walls. Like Coach Phil, I was also bit intimidated by her at first but eventually I learned she was also nice. Before the class started, she taught me the basic punches like the jab, stright, hook and uppercut. She said I need to remember those punches. I also noticed that the age of the participants were quite varied. Some looked to be in grade school, some looked to be only a few years younger than me and there were also a few who looked to be older than me. It was a really diverse group of students. So during the beginning of the class, Coach Jaz told us to get in our stance with our hands up. She called out certain punches by their assigned number and we were to perform those punches. At times she would demonstrate the correct form for those punches and tell us to do them again. We would do this for about 10 minutes. Next we would follow a certain curriculum that's written on a dry-erase board. They would be activities like performing combinations on a heavy bag, practice punch timing on the speed bad or the double-end bag, running, box jumping and many other exercies. We would spend about 3 minutes per station. Even though it was only a 45 minute class, it feels like a full body workout. Of course I decided to join the gym, but there are different tiers for the membership. You pay to either go once a week, twice a week or an unlimited number of times per week. How this works is let's say you sign up for the once per week membership and you go to the morning class on Tuesday. After that you feel like you have enough energy to join the evening Tuesday class. You can do that. Once a week meaning you can train all you want for one day out of the week and you can do all the classes or free training on your chosen day. With other gyms like 24 Hour Fitness and UFC gym, they can cost an arm and a leg while also feel quite boring. With BoxFit, the initiation fee is a lot less and I actually feel motivated to go to this gym. I'm never bored there. I want to learn to punch faster, slip punches, increase my stamina and my agility. Also if you want to box competitavely, they do that there as well. You would just need to talk to the coaches. Everyone has their own skill level and their own pace so don't feel frustrated. The coaches will help you. For anybody who wants to try something new and get active, I would highly recommend checking this place out. You can sit on a foldable chair and observe the classes to see if they're right for you.

I've been boxing, doing muay thai, Jiu Jitsu and other forms of combat for over 20 years, and at this point they're all kind of "ways of life" for me, so when I find a good gym I tend to hold onto it. 808 is a great boxing gym -- they have different group sessions, based on your skill level and what you want to do, and they have lots of different times throughout the week so it's not too hard to fit into your schedule (they also do one-on-one training too). I like the group sparring sessions because you get a chance to spar with people of many different skill levels, which is great for honing in on different skill sets (e.g., if you're an expert, sparring against someone who's more new, you can hold back and maybe just practice dodging, etc.). It's more affordable than other boxing gyms I've been to, especially considering that we're in Hawaii. Definitely gonna be back again.
