I stayed at work one day rather than go back to my home office in order to be closeby and attend the adult gymnastics class. Athough the facility was nice, it's really tiny. The size of a single company warehouse. They sure do get creative with the space - in that there was a private lesson happening and the kid was tumbling through our class space as well. This would be an amazing aerial studio (high ceilings) but it's pretty cramped, although I have to say they do their best to utilize the space efficiently. This review is for adult gymnastics only. In short: it's the kids class, with adults participating. Not very satisfying. And my warmup was led by like a six year old. As an adult participant, I was not impressed, but don't keep this from bringing your children.

Very disappointed with their customer service. Every single month we were charged on the 20th then I get an email from them saying that my billing date is the 17th. My charge did not go through for the next month yet and I cancelled 48 hours prior to when I was regularly charged yet they refuse to cancel the pending charge. Their customer service is horrible and they just seem money hungry. I have been to other locally owned gyms who would easily refund us if we emailed them 48 hours prior to when they bill but I guess this gym does not care about their clients. The overall gym is very small, there is another review for adult gymnastics that gives it 2/3 stars and I have to agree with them. You spend more than half the class stretching and maybe 10 minutes doing actually gymnastics. Sometimes you only do the activity once because of how little time you're given doing actual gymnastics. I would recommend another place that has two hour adult gymnastics for half the price!

We then received an email closer to the start of the session. When we arrived for the first time, the girls were provided shirts and they got their name tags and got right into it. It's definitely a little harder with younger ones since their attention span isn't always there but they do try to keep them engaged and easier to call them when they have their name tags on. They are separated into three different groups. The beginners, returnees and most likely the better bunch. I don't know how they categorize it but that's just my guess. We attend the ages 5-8 group so I'm not too sure how the older classes work. For an hour and a half session, I feel that the money is worth it! I'd recommend it for anyone looking for an activity for their kids to try it out!

We appreciate her fun and positive teaching approach. She catches what can be improved quickly and gives magical tips and tricks to make my daughter's performance better. My daughter has done gymnastics competitively and Ms. Lubi was able to brush up her skills as well. Moreover, when trying new skills, she challenges my daughter to try them but in a gentle way. She always checks in with my daughter if she is willing to try on her own. If my daughter doesn't feel comfortable, then she waits and continues to encourage her. She is so sweet and approachable. I can reach out to her, no problem. She replies back to me quickly. Although her place may be a bit cozy to work on the full gymnastic spectrum, it is perfect to improve my daughter's skills. Her gym is equipped with all kinds of equipment such as jump ropes, yoga mats and yoga blocks, air mattress, beam, a small bar and so on. We had a total of 8 private sessions with Ms. Lubi. My daughter was able to improve her skills and became more confident. We will miss her very much.

RWDA = my dance home…read more Every Saturday from age 4-17+ I'd be at Rosalie Woodson Dance Academy ALL DAY LONG. It was my second home. My weekend home. I absolutely loved it there. :) I started with ballet and tap early on and added on gymnastics and jazz throughout the years. You make LIFELONG FRIENDS at this studio. Students are encouraged to learn ballet, which establishes a solid foundation as a dancer. It's a piece of cake learning other styles once you've practiced years of ballet. They surely teach you discipline and how to be a fine, classy lady (or gentleman!). This is a great studio to send your kids to (or yourself! They have adult classes, too!) if you want good, classic, WHOLESOME ballet, tap, jazz and broadway styles. They also offer hip hop and salsa. Taking dance lessons at RWDA and performing at the Blaisdell Concert Hall (now annual performances are at Hawaii Theatre) really help build my self-confidence as a child and improved my posture. I learned how to be organized and punctual from attending scheduled rehearsals and having various costume changes throughout the show (my Caboodles box full of bobby pins and accessories had to be in order or I'd miss my number!). I also learned how to put on stage makeup (that it needs to be a lot bolder than what you'd normally wear because the lights wash out the color). Again, the friendships that I have developed throughout the years are priceless. I still hang out with my RWDA dance buddies til this day! The studio is conveniently located next to Aiea Library, where I have studied a bunch before, after, and in-between dance classes as a kid. There are also many restaurants and convenience stores around the area that are safe and fun to check out when you need a snack in-between classes or to hang out with your dance buddies. (Or for you parents that are waiting for your keiki!) The teachers are all excellent and caring. I remember Miss Woodson herself used to help fit me in my tap and pointe shoes. She'd even show me how to screw on my taps to my tap shoes! I love how students that have grown up here eventually come back to teach to carry on the tradition. If you're interested in taking lessons, you should watch the annual Showstoppers show at Hawaii Theatre usually held the last week of June. Not to miss! However, that is only once a year, so if you've missed this year's one, you can always call the studio and check out the next mall show or try out a class! If I ever decide to have kids, I'd for sure send them here! P.S. Yelp, it's Rosalie Woodson Dance Academy. The business listing's all backwards. ;)

We previously attended another gym that, while well-intentioned, simply couldn't accommodate the growing number of students. The space was too limited, making it difficult for the kids to fully practice their routines or safely develop their skills. Additionally, the environment was sometimes impacted by inconsistent attitudes from the coaching staff, which hindered our overall experience. Since transitioning to this current facility, the difference has been remarkable. The gym is expansive, offering ample space for movement, which is crucial for young athletes to safely train and perform. The coaches here are not only skilled and knowledgeable, but they genuinely enjoy what they do - a quality that shows in their enthusiastic and encouraging approach. They've taught my daughters a wide range of techniques with care, structure, and positivity, helping them grow both in confidence and ability. We couldn't be more pleased with the supportive atmosphere and the professionalism of the coaching staff. Highly recommend this gym to any family seeking a high-quality gymnastics program.
