My 14yr old Daughter has been at Pdd since she was 5yrs old.. This review is long over due and prolly the most honest review you will get.. Now after 9yrs at a place that we frequent 24 to 30hrs a week the staff, dancers, owners, dance parents and teachers become like a 2nd family..especially when we began to compete and travel as a studio..so just like family there are moments of joy sadness anger..overwhelmed..uncertainty..enchantment and magic..but at the end of the day for my family and my daughter there is a specific goal in mind..my young lady aspires to be an all around entertainer actress/model/dancer..she is a working professional already and benefits from the calibar of teaching and opportunities PDD offers over the years we been here.. pdd did not start as a competitive studio..in fact the owners did not have a desire to do competitions until Jump came to Honolulu and by chance PDD entered a couple numbers and the Parents that year were hooked and wanted to compete .this was before my daughter was even out of pre ballet..it took 2yrs of convincing from parents for wendy and Jeremy to consider having a Company team that competed bc the Parents asked for it.. Through traveling to Vegas every year with the Company team at Pdd my daughter found she loved Tap and Ballroom and with an overwhelming request by many dancers Miss Wendy made Tap and Ballroom happen..it has been a journey through teachers and scheduling and has not always been pleasant or easy but every year when we assess what benefits My Daughters long term goals..moving studios just doesnt make sense..would we save money? Yes.. would she be trained in ballroom. Hip hop..and tap to the caliber that challenges her? The answer is an astounding No There is no studio on the island that offers everything PDD does and to the caliber it does.. We have an original cast member of Lion King Broadway teaching Jazz Our Hip hop director holds Best Choreographer award from Tdas Our teachers in general have all worked professionally as dancers in the genre they teach..from Disneyparks to commercials to disney cruises..to professional gigs currently around the island and the mainland Was my Daughter always the stand out dancers in class..nope..did she always get the lead or get called out Nope..and ya know what that did!! It gave her Grit and some sad moments that turned into pure determination to train and become better.. Bc let me tell you compared to mainland studios and competitions Hawaii dancers are blessed with lots of encouragement and Aloha in their environments and for dancers that want to expand beyond PDD after high school into this as a profession Pdd is the only choice for her My dancer is a non traditional dancer that thrives in genres like Tap and ballroom Most studios on island that are at a competitive level focus in classical genres like ballet..jazz contemporary or heavily focused on Hip Hop..and street dance with very little technique classes The shows put on every year are a production of Magic..not A TYPICAL recital..you wont see the same dances from Tik Tok being done in tshirts and jeans..you are seeing a full blown production from sets..to theme to quick changes to music to MC.. So productions cost $$ Which btw do you all know the average square foot cost for businesses in Hawaii are about $715/sq feet?? Keep that in Mind when you look at rhe spaces Pdd holds classes in and Holds productions in.. We have trained on the mainland many summers with mutliple studios and choreographers and although Pdd is the more expensive choice in studios its not even close to what mainland studios charge for the intimate relationships your dancer will develop over time and dedication.. On top of ..Pdd staff and owners are overly organized with spread sheets and timelines and throughly professional.. My daughter has been able to meet and dance with Eva igo Jenna Johnson Hawk mark villaver Sienna lalau Miles keeny Comfort Fedoke Just to name a few through classes and workshops at Pdd Not to Mention Pdd has a whole musical.theater department and their own Black box theater that hosts productions.( i can do whole other review on that) Just like with anything Pdd may not be what your looking for in dance or acting or voice but you will have a hard time finding anywhere else that offers what Pdd has.. Also the one thing I know you for sure will not find anywhere else is the aloha and ohana welcome comittee that comes packaged in a Mom Named Jenn So if you are a pdd new family..or thinking about trying out Pdd or simply want a honest opinion about Lmk i got 9yrs of experience with this epic dance studio and my 4yr old just fell in love with dance as well.. so looks like i will have another 14yrs ..LOL MAHALOS FOR READING FOLKS!! read more

If I could give zero stars, then I would. It is unfortunate that I must write this review because I wanted so badly to like Pas De Deux. However, recent communication with the owner Wendy has forced me to find another company which will be more compassionate and receptive to parents. There is so much to say about the lack of professionalism by the owner. In a nutshell, the owner replied to my concern about poor communication in the rudest way possible: ⁃ Insinuated that my daughter's participation in the final production wasn't necessary because it was an optional performance run by students. Went on to tell me in person that the bar wasn't set very high as a result. That speaks volumes about their lack of confidence for the student who worked hard to produce an amazing play that I enjoyed watching. (Kudos to the student director!) ⁃ Lacks the ability to take responsibility for a flaw in her business. Puts it back on the parent that they should do more despite multiple phone calls made to the studio. ⁃ Rather than work with me as a concerned parent, owner suggested I take my business elsewhere. ⁃ Made it a point to emphasize that my daughter was a major health concern even though I provided her with two negative COVID-19 tests. If you want a caring and empathetic company, Pas De Deux is not for you. She basically told me to "get lost" because I shared my concern about a lack of communication. All the other points she made in her response to my concern was unnecessary and speaks to her inability to care about patrons for her business. As a parent who wants to provide her daughter with an opportunity to experience the arts, especially during these difficult times, you would think an owner would be more open to working with families to ensure everyone is enjoying the arts and all that it has to offer. read more

If you are still looking for a great performing arts studio for your aspiring performer, Pas De Deux is for you! Located in Waipio Gentry a quarter mile from Costco, PDD is centrally located, so super convenient for all of us in Central and West Oahu. My lovely daughter has been enjoying learning ballet and Jazz at PDD since they first opened up in May 2010 at their old location. Fast forward 5.5 years ahead, and she's developed into a talented and passionate performer who refuses to miss a day of dance, even if she's not feeling well. That's the kind of dedication and enjoyment my daughter has derived from Pas De Deux, and that thrills me. Proprietors Jeremy and Wendy Gilbert are two of the most energetic, creative and passionate people I know, and I love that their spirit is rubbing off on my baby girl. It's been fun to witness, and my daughter got the opportunity to compete on behalf of PDD in Salt Lake City in February 2016, then a special performance at Walt Disney World in June of 2016. We are a military family who moves frequently and we've been a part of several studios at our various duty stations. PDD has wonderful instructors but the owners are business minded and money driven. We've never experienced a vibe like that at our other studios. There's a real lack of aloha. On the surface they seem nice but if you have questions or concerns they become nasty and even threatened to pull one of our children out of a show because we expressed some concerns about costs. Other reviews have similar stories. We spoke with a teacher there who had similar concerns but felt like they couldn't say anything for fear of retribution and losing their job. It's a small island and we wanted to be part of a fun studio during our time there. This wasn't it. I would recommend Ballet Hawaii if you have a serious ballerina. We joined a smaller hula studio that had a much more welcoming, warm atmosphere and our family enjoyed that so much more. PDD isn't worth the stress, money, or your time. And now I see that they're requiring vaccines AND masks?! Easy pass. read more

Monthly fees are reasonable... (about $65/month/class), classes once a week for one hour for most options.... but you must factor in total costs of everything else required to attend. Required performances every 6 months... or there is a high possibility of being kicked out of the class. Few "non-performing" class options. This is the notice you receive prior to the performance signup cut off: Cost:  $50 Performance Fee, $85-$105 Costume, Hip Hop shoes $65 (same style as last year) and $25-$35 Tickets plus tax *When calculating total costs please factor in monthly tuition, dance shoes, tights, make-up, hair, other optional costs such as dance portraits and show shirts. (Ya--- you have to pay for your own tickets to watch your child) Parent Participation:  We require parents to participate backstage in 5 hour shifts during the show.  If you cannot help during show dates, please indicate that when you sign the contract so we can give you a different volunteer assignment leading up to the show dates.   (Ummm.... I'm paying you and you are requiring me to work for you? Nope.) Also, for each of the classes (age groups) you need a specific color of uniform; leotard for ballet or jazz, tshirt for hip hop, etc. This is not what is worn in a performance and not part of that costume fee. The shoes and uniform for regular weekly classes adds up quickly... and can only be purchased through PDD (as it has their logo on the merchandise). They need to adjust prices and be more flexible on where outfits are purchased from (allow students to buy any type of leotard, tights, shoes within regulation from any seller/store). Dont require colors for age groups.... and $65 for hip hop shoes for a performance for a child is ridiculous. Only positive: teachers are friendly and my daughter enjoys her classes. But the cost brings the rating way down..... I cant afford for my daughter to have this hobby. read more

I initially found PDD online and what started as a "fun" extra curricular activity for my daughter, now became her passion along with her little sister. PDD offers Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Ballroom, Hula, Voice, and Theater and there are so many options so you really can decide how much time and money you want to commit to. Ms. Wendy, the owner, definitely has a vision. She makes things happen and really gives these girls the opportunity to take dance to the next level. This year we had the privilege to participate in competitions and I got a glimpse of what they all do behind the scenes from the directors, teachers, admins, parents, and students. I do have to say Ms. Wendy did a great job of making all the adjustments that came daily with the daily changes/restrictions but kept on going. She definitely had to make a lot of tough decisions and had to stand firm on them. I'm sure they weren't easy ones to make as every small business owners had to make adjustments these past couple years. There are so many amazing teachers at the studio and I really can't name them all but the ballet director, Ms. Annri, is a teacher that my daughter had for many years. She has a lot of experience and I appreciate that she will encourage the girls to work hard. My daughter has grown so much as a ballet dancer by learning from her. Both my daughters has Ms. Allicia for Jazz and she is amazing with the little ones! I can definitely see how much progress they've made within a year. I'm sure she pushes them hard, like all the other teachers, but my kids just love to go to jazz class and are willing to put in the work! Ms. Kaleigh is the Jazz (director) that works with the older girls. She has taught my daughter different types of dance and really has helped work on her flexibility and different skills this past year. PDD offers great opportunities for these Hawaii dancers which, I don't feel like we get a lot of opportunity in Hawaii because we have to consider the cost of travel and what not but I can tell that Ms. Wendy, Mr. Jeremy, and all the teachers will take these dancers to the next level and we're proud that we can be a part of it. read more

PDD is hands down the BEST studio on island. The roots for this studio run deep in the entertainment business, and teachers and staff they have brought on board are some of the best! We are a military family so we move often, and with each move, have to find a new dance home. PDD welcomed us as O'Hana, and is making this move especially hard. This studio has non performing classes, and the option to audition for company. The offerings are amazing from traditional ballet classes to Tahitian, Hula and ballroom. The hip hop program has proven to be phenomenal! My dancer has grown SO much with this studio, and the training she has received here is going to be hard to beat. The bios for the teachers will have you content that your dancer will obtain a well rounded dance curriculum as each background is amazing. The prices for this studio are comparable to any studio, the quality of training, the amazing facility and program offerings are worth EVERY cent! The uniform and shoe requirements are standard, and are well thought out by the owners/teachers. The costume prices for performances are reasonable, and the rules/expectations for dancers and their families are what make a studio amazing. Also, the admin staff is amazing too! They are friendly and knowledgeable and can help with any questions you may have. I know this studio is going to continue to evolve and will only get better. We are sad we will not be here for all of it, but will always consider this studio a HUGE part of our dancers journey. We are excited to see PDD continue to grow! I went to pas de deux as a child for a solid few years and I can honestly say that the treatment I received as a dancer was near traumatizing. I have no idea if the Tahitian teacher still instructs there, but I vividly recall being threatened to have our fingers taped together if we (a group of 7/8 year olds) could not keep them straight. When my mom called in to report that happening, the owner Wendy practically laughed in our face and told her "Your girls love it here and you will never leave" I don't care if this studio is the last one on the planet, I will never return here. If I could promote this dance studio all the time and where cloths, masks shoes anything even decal my car I would. They are a very tight nit family and they love there students. My son loves there hip hop class, there ballet and there jazz and he still wants to do more!!!! They employ the most amazing teachers there who show every kids there the love for dance. Dean loved a teacher who had to move away and after she did she sent him a YouTube link on a Russian male dancers to show him that he could do that one day and he loved it and decided he wants to try one day. The owners are also amazing!!!! They know each one of the kids and they love to talk to the parents. They make me wish that when I move again I could take the whole place with me! I now have very high expectations for any future dance schools my 2 kids will be in. It's unbelievable how they're can juggle that many students' parents on a Saturday and still answer phones and try to be nice all together. This place is joke. Absolutely No Aloha. What everyone is saying is true, but you don't really get it until you experience it. The owners are money hungry. Not only are they not kama'aina (Walnut Creek, CA & NY), but they also act like it. They will squeeze every penny out of you and you will do it because you love your child. My kid was 3 years old and she had to get a "uniform" for every dance class she was in, like hip hop and ballet. You even have to get the right color shoes. They have their own store in the studio and charge you more than you would spend on Amazon. They know the price of living in Hawaii is already high, but they don't care. You will also have to pay for your child to participate in ALL events because they're too high makamaka to do local shopping center stages (even if they're toddlers) and you will have to pay around $50 plus dollars for each person attending. Ridiculous. On top of that, if you complain, the other parents are right, YOU are the problem, not the owner or company. She and her husband will not take ANY accountability and didn't get the note that the customer is always right. A simple genuine "sorry" would go along way instead of passive aggressive behavior like, "I'm sorry you weren't happy with us, but I know you can find that somewhere else", etc. Basically saying, "Sorry, Not Sorry". It's so obvious that they do not have children by the comments and remarks they make to you when talking about child safety and concerns. Do yourself a favor and don't get sucked into this studio. The instructors are very good, but the ethics, values, and accountability of the Owners and admin are not. Even the office manager is awful. If you open an email she sent she assumes that you read the email and now are officially informed and therefore, "you knew", period. It doesn't matter if the email is a novel (not exaggerating). I guess no one has ever accidentally opened an email or skimmed through something. They are seriously crazy. We bailed that place and went to Hypersquad and my kid loved it. The whole vibe is so much better and more chill and cool. The admin is not whack. Hypersquad also does lots of community service unlike PDD and your kid doesn't have to pay out of your okole to participate. And, I like that Hypersquad are legit Kama'aina and made it far in World of Dance. You can feel the Aloha there. And, Wendy, please do not bother replying to this critique. Its our experience and our opinion, not yours. I know it will kill you, but for once, respect the wishes of the parents instead of your ego. Mahalo! read more

We moved to the island last summer and joined PDD so that my daughter could continue to pursue her love of dance. I could tell right away that she would receive top of the line training and these past several months have proven that the owner Ms. Wendy and teachers go out of their way to provide maximum opportunities for their dancers despite the challenges of being on an island so far from mainland events. Needless to say my daughter has fallen in love with her new dance home. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly she adjusted because she tends to be more shy, but she loved it from day one! A large part of that is because of the kindness from everyone. It is the tone and atmosphere that is set by Ms. Wendy and her husband Jeremy, one of encouragement, acceptance and embracing each and every one of their dancers as part of their ohana. That same spirit of kindness is reflected in the teachers as well as the dancers, from the teen mentors to the minis! While no one is perfect, what I truly appreciate about Wendy is that from what I've observed she takes the time to address any issues in a loving, compassionate and caring way, understanding the dynamics of a perfectly imperfect family so that everyone can grow to be the best version of themselves! It gives me comfort that as my daughter grows and goes through the ups and downs of life, she will have a safe place to express herself and grow in character. So grateful to have found PDD! We (I'm not alone) parents have a LOVE HATE relationship with this studio. Been with them since they opened up in old Waipahu they are now in Waipio (parking is horrendous and they really need AC stat)! Costco and 7-11 nearby. Why the love hate? Our kids love to dance! Hate that they are disorganized, late with communication, and most of their decisions (although that's why they're in business) is $$$$ driven! The facility is very nice and offers many styles of dance. However, the school is very strict, and if your child has a poor or short attention span, I would not recommend this school. My 5-year-old son tried a Pre-Hip Hop class. I told the teacher my son is autistic, but he was able to follow fairly well. Still, the class was too advanced for him. My son lost focus after 40 minutes. When the teacher saw that, she suggested we leave and to try the 3-4 year-old class since it was shorter. What prevented me from considering the 3-4 year old class was because earlier, my husband saw the same teacher kick a child out of the 3-4 year-old class. She brought the girl to the father and asked sternly, "Is this your child? I can't teach her. She doesn't pay attention. She forfeits the lesson." The child's parents had paid for the class, but because she wasn't paying attention, the teacher kicked her out. This is a 3-4 year-old child we are talking about. Had my son been a paying student, the same thing would have happened, since we were asked to leave after 40 minutes of his trial class. In addition, there are no absolute beginner classes available for newbies in my son's age group, so we'll be looking elsewhere. I appreciate that this school offers a free trial class, because then you can see if your child can handle the class or enjoys it. Unfortunately, this school is not a good fit for my son, since he is autistic and can sometimes lose focus or be unpredictable. The school has a low tolerance for inattentiveness. If your 3-5 year-old child is mature for his/her age, has good concentration/attention span, picks up steps quickly and shows self-discipline, then this school is a good fit for you. read more

Pas De Deux Hawaii is an AMAZING dance studio located in Central Oahu near Costco Waipio. They have been a special part of our lives for over a decade now and has been a constant positive in my child's daily routine. Even more so during these difficult covid times. With our everyday lives turned upside down, Pas De Deux Hawaii has managed to maintain their influence and structure to ensure that my daughter's dance training remained consistent. Zoom classes were professionally taught and led by their own live teachers who, by the way, are award winning professionals. When the studio was finally given the green light to open up to an extremely limited capacity by state governed covid guidelines, the studio owners Wendy and Jeremy Gilbert went out of their way to ensure that the teachers, staff and especially the students were safe, healthy and happy. Health and temp checks were taken upon entry for each individual, masks are mandatory for EVERYONE the entire time while in studio, dancers were instructed to maintain social distancing the entire time in and outside of the studio, UV cleaners were set up, air filtration was amped up, vigorous cleaning was done before, during and after classes, communication via email, text, FB, IG, and BAND was maintained for the most up to date information, even an extremely informative covid safety video was created for all to view. I just wanted to share my daughter's and my experience with Pas De Deux. My daughter is 6 years old and has been going for almost three years now. Our experience so far has been a positive one! Amy has wonderful teachers Ms Anri who teaches ballet and Ms Shauna who teaches hula. I have seen my daughter grow physically and emotionally at this school. Parents at anytime can watch their child practice as they have glass windows. Also they have two waiting areas with TVs so your other children won't get bored. The upstairs waiting room has four desks so you can get your own work done as you are waiting in air conditioned comfort! They have performances twice a year but it isn't mandatory that your child attend. I had my daughter skip one performance. My family loves the performances because it allows the grandparents to watch their grandchild on stage. It doesn't matter if your child is the worst dancer, everyone has a chance to perform unlike other studios which hand-select who gets to perform. They ask that your child attend their scheduled classes, pay for their performance fee and pay for their costume. The monthly tuition is not outrageous, $55 per a month for preballet. This includes weekly one- hour classes. They require that you buy their leotards from them but the ballet shoes and pink tights I have bought from somewhere else. They just sell the items at the studio to make it easier for the parents who don't want to order online or travel in town to buy those items. The staff has always treated me nicely. On my side, I try to be patient because I know how it is trying to service customers. Also, a previous review mentioned that after each class a "Dancer of the Day" is awarded. Every dancer receives a sticker at the end of each practice and they can out it in their sticker book. However, a dancer of the day award goes to someone who is putting in a little extra, maybe smiling throughout their performance. My daughter gets disappointed too but I just tell her that "you have to keep trying hard... One day you'll get it!" (I think for a period there were several classes that weren't passing out the dancer of the day award and parents were complaining.) When she finally got it after several months she was so thrilled because it meant something! I know that some parents have given this studio one or two stars but no place is perfect. If you look at the yelp ratings and comments of other places, there are always people who aren't going to be happy. Also, read the policies for each studio and you will see that Pas De Deux's policies are not outrageous. See for yourself. read more

My daughter has been dancing with Pas de Deux since we moved to O'ahu in 2011. She absolutely loves her classes, her instructors & performing. As parents, we couldn't be more pleased with the extraordinary level of professionalism we have always encountered at PDD. Yes, parking is difficult (even at the new facility) but then again, parking is tough anywhere on the island. And yes, when you add up tuition, attire & performance fees it does get a bit expensive, as many extra-curricular activities for children are nowadays. Keep in mind that participation in the performances is completely optional to students. We find what we pay at PDD to be a small sacrifice for a high quality dance school that makes our daughter very happy. read more

It's terrible how Pas De Deux Hawai'i singles out students for trying to grow their skills and their influence as a dancer by taking classes from another studio that you are not truly dedicated to. If you or your kid is going to dance here, do not expect the studio owner Wendy Calio to let your child take open classes from another studio and allow them to dance at Pas De Deux. My 4 yr old daughter enjoys her hip hop dance class very much! She's currently prepping for her first performance! This place is filled with colorful art all over the studio! Makes it bright and fun atmosphere for the kids! Also has a little station for kids to color and chairs everywhere for the parents! It's an awesome experience! My daughter's instructor seems right on in teaching the dance moves to the young ones. read more

Was told it was a beginners/first timer class. Instructor was 2 mins late and did more focusing on the girls who were not beginners. Take your own sarong as they don't tell new potential clients to bring their own. Nice studio but would recommend a different instructor. Instructors name was Auli'i Kama. read more

What a mess! Very unorganized. Would not bring my kids back. They make shows in Thier studio and don't control ticket sales. If you are not quick to buy tickets you can't watch your kids preform. But bottom line for them is money and not the passion to teach the art of dance. read more

The only reason I even gave them two stars is for the voice teacher my Daughter had, she was great. EVERYTHING else about this place is ridiculous. It is overpriced, completely unorganized, and DO NOT expect a response to any emails or voice mails left with them. Private lesson students pay for the whole month so if something happens and the school is closed or you can't make it, the school is paid for the lesson anyway (over $1 a minute by the way). Tried it for a couple of years and was relieved when our daughter decided she did not want to keep going there. She wanted to learn Hip Hop and although she enjoyed it at the start, she realized that all they want to teach is routines for their shows at the LCC. The shows are very nice. The teaching part was bad. They do not teach Hip Hop, they teach routines for their shows. Big difference! The teaching itself was god awful. Every performance they required a new "uniform". A uniform could consist of jeans, t-shirt, hoodie, etc. They would charge parents an arm and a leg for what they called "uniforms". They will nickel and dime you until the piggy bank is empty. I honestly believe that dance is secondary to profit and publicity at this place. Again, if your child wants to LEARN Hip Hop, this is not the place to go. read more

My daughter attended this dance studio for a few months, she loved the class and the teacher which was the only reason why I kept her in enrolled. Not only are you overcharged with multiple different fees. your HAS child be in the recital or they kick out of class until recital is finished (which by the way is a couple hundred $$ and give you a short amount of time or no notice to how much it all is). Yes, I found out that day it was due and how much it is and that it was her last day (So why did I have to pay a annual fee if she could only attend 3 months worth of classes then have to wait until the end of the year to come back? ). Also, I purchased her uniform when I signed her up. Which was months ago, I haven't gotten it yet. But can't get my money back? "PDD CREDIT" the lady said. So I told her to apply that to her "prorated" amount I had to pay for her last class since we're not financially able to do the ricital. But nope. They charged me full amount 10 days BEFORE the actual fee date. They were trying to give me credit again but nope. I'm no longer going back with this many problems. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS! THE LADY I TALKED TO HAD TOO MUCH ATTITUDE I HAD THROW MY ATTITUDE RIGHT BACK. I emailed them for my refund, and they gave me 3/4 of it. And kept the prorate rate. Which if that's the case I want my 30$ back from the uniform I haven't received yet! They don't reply/answer emails or calls to fix this problem. They need to get it together. Everyone seems like they're on different pages here.yeah it's a nice place, but the money and the customer service is definitely not worth it. I'm done with this place. For the most part this is a great studio.. it can get pricey around recital times.. every little thing has a hefty price tag. Our kiddo loves the classes though and is very happy and that's all that matters to us. read more

Great family environment for people of all ages. I used to help A LITTLE a few years ago and the people that are part of this team are family not just to me but to each other. Prices are very reasonable for their great quality and growth in the arts are strongly encouraged for those who train here. I read a few reviews and the ones who gave this studio low ratings didn't have that bread (money) to be attending here and or seemed like they had some personal issues. kinda funny to read. Pas De Deux Hawaii is by far one of the best performing arts talent prep schools in Hawaii. They are so much more than just dance. My daughter is 6 and has been dancing since she was 2.5 years old. She started with PDD at age 4 and her love of dance and performing has blossomed. She takes jazz, ballet, hula and hip hop at PDD and if you ever ask her which class is her favorite she always replies "all of them"! I'm at the studio at least 3x a week, I've volunteered at almost every show my daughter has been in & my family has been in the theatre business for over 20+ years. Believe me when I tell you I know what I'm talking about. It's the caring, fun & loving spirits of the teachers that keep the children engaged and loving dance. It's the attention to details by the owners that ensures a fabulous performance 2x a year. The fact that most of the staff are parents of the dance students shows just how much this school means to our children. Pas De Deux Hawaii is the place to be if your child wants to get into show business or is like my daughter and just loves to dance. Check them out during their free trials. Stop by the studio for a tour. It's a great place. On a side note...They are not the only company to ever make an announcement about not taking pictures or video during the performance. It is prohibited during all dance performances. Their costume fees are totally acceptable. Other dance companies charge the same amount as a "cleaning fee" and you have to return them. With PDD you get to KEEP these exquisite costumes. The owners are the real deal. Being in show business themselves they know what it takes to put on a great show. Isn't that part of the reason you put your child in dance? So you, friends & family can watch them perform on stage and see how much they have learned and accomplished? read more

New facility still being completed. My kid loves it! She has grown so much--she's always had confidence, but the discipline of learning the art of dance helps to shape the person you become. I like that there is a fall series so that parents can see the progress of their children -- IF they want to participate (my friend opted out because she didn't want her daughters to feel the pressure as they just started dancing). And having an in-house theatre allows for the families and friends to see their performers in action. I know she is not going to be a prima ballerina, but she says "dancing is her talent" hahaha. I never had an issue starting my daughter in their programs, getting her into trial classes, etc. my daughter is almost 7 and has been saying for years "I want to be a ballerina". Once we got settled I called to get her a trial class and they called back in a timely manner, and she was hooked. Her ballet instructor Miss Chandler has a huge heart for these kids and gives it her best effort. My daughter decided hula wasn't for her and when I wanted to switch out hula for a jazz trial, the admin did it on the spot and got her in to try the next week. She loves pas de Deux and I think the price is very reasonable and affordable, and they work with each kid nicely. She's happy. read more
