Parking is street parking or in a nearby lot. You will have to call to get the door code to get in. I took the beginner lyra class and the class had 5 people in it and 4 lyras were rigged. The class was 1.5 hours long and was very intense since people were all at different levels. The instructor and other students were very nice, inclusive, and encouraging. read more

Oh lordttt, here we go! So my friend and I came to the Twerk class on Friday night and yalllll LET ME TELL YOU! I woke up this morning feeling alive and sore as ever haha! Seriously though that class is a full body workout and super fun! I recommend it to EVERYONE! Parking - street or structure parking. Someone wrote a review about parking and thank you for that cause if not we wouldn't been lost. Since the class is from 7-8:15pm we ended up paying $2.50, cash only! So don't forget to bring $$$!! You're in Chinatown after all!! To get into the studio, YOU HAVE TO CALL! My friend and I was so confused we almost walked around the building 2x but then she found their IG and called. They lock the doors cause y'all know how it be out in the streets, late at night there. So make sure you call to let them know you're downstairs then they'll let you in. They also have a special key card for that floor so literally only people going to that floor have access. They also have a pole dancing class too so maybe that's why... anywhoooo, When we called the guy was super nice! He let us up the elevator and told us we were doing the right thing and called. Let us up, took our temp, filled out some paperwork. We washed our hands and we made our way to the floor. The instructor came and then class started. The instructor started off by introductions, which was nice!!!!! Since it was my first time I was a bit shy BUT my friend and I take a heels class that's a bit more intimate so that kinda broke me out of my dance shyness. This twerk class is more like, we in the club, socially distanced AND since it's all females, this was even better!!!! Everyone was literally shaking their asses, not giving a rats about anything. No judgments about nothing AND hyping each other up. Also, if you needed help, the instructor came and showed you how to do it. I think my fave part was the warm up cause you really get to stretch and feel the music! I honestly loved this class so much and honey for the price, $13 is such a gooooooood price, you bet I'll be there next week baby!!!! ;) Also, might I just add the instructors booty is goals and it's so intimidating!!!!! You can just imagine yours doing the same thing, even if it's not LOL!! Also, you think you're not doing the moves but because you don't have the same butt shape and thickness, it doesn't feel it. However, it definitely is. I love that you learn twerk moves, but at the same time in the end they actually choreograph a dance for you to a twerk song!! I just love it so much, it's just so fun!!!!! read more

I came here with my Meetup ladies, there were 8 of us. Booking was an easy experience, everything was done over email. The total cost for a group of 8 was $523, this included a private 2 hour class with an instructor. This is a hard place to find, your GPS will say you arrived and all you will see is meat and vegetable markets in the middle of Chinatown. I walked toward the back and around and just happened upon the directory that said it's on the second floor. I was expecting something outside but there was nothing. When we got to the door it was locked and it said to call. We called and someone told us the code for the door. They could've just told us that via email but no biggie. Our instructor was Olga, she was very nice and knew her stuff. I took a pole dancing class before and it was ok but the pole was spinning and I fell. Olga had the static poles and at the end She changed them to spin. This was a fun class, prepare to sweat and bring lots of water. You can also buy bottled water for $2. We all laughed, learned, and had a great time. I'd gladly come back! read more

I've attended 8 classes at PoleArity and loved every class. The studio has several different kinds of classes and absolutely amazing instructors. Everyone I've met has been so kind. I would highly recommend PoleArity Studio. read more

I would call this place my 2nd home because honestly I feel so welcomed by my dance peers and my dance instructors. And whenever I come here, I find my inner self confidence growing :) How the payment work here: (Option A) If you don't have time to commit to a monthly membership, you can pay $20 per pole class for non-members and come by any time you want. (Option B) If life permits, you can do their 3 month membership and take 8 classes per a month and it can be ANY classes depending on your level. With tax, it costs about $103 per a month, there is an initial 3 month commitment and its required for new membership members. Here's the link if you want to see more prices they offer: http://polearitystudio.com/memberships/student-memberships/ Anyway, I came here around beginning Oct 2017 and took their 'Intro to pole' class and I fell in love with it instantly! Since I was busy with work, I was doing 'option A', it can be very expensive and I had to stop after a month because I was going through some personal stuff. Speeding onto ending of Jan 2018 my mental health is now good and found a stable job, I finally can do 'option B'! I'm currently taking their hip hop twerk class, pole, jazz, and burlesque classes. I really recommend this dance studio to anyone who wants to boost their self esteem or purely just for fun! And guys are also welcome to join these classes too! read more

My friends and I took a beginners class here and it was super fun! The parking is tucked away in a sketchy looking lot, but you can easily turn into it if you're going down Nimitz from Ala Moana. Once you're parked, you go towards the Chinese looking doors and have to go up to the 2nd floor. Once inside, you'll find the door but it'll be locked. There'll be directions to call a number so that they can let you in. Once inside, it was like a regular dance studio and there were poles scattered around the room. Our instructor's name was Olga! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and we were a little nervous since we were beginners but they made us feel at home. Pole dancing is tough! I give major props to those who make it seem so easy and light weight! It's a lot of gripping and not having slippery hands and holding your weight. We got some bruises on our legs but overall we had a lot of fun learning the hardest "basics" ever! It was $20 a class and you have to take a couple beginner classes before advancing to the next class--but worth it. Thank you PoleArity for the fun night out! read more

I've been wanting to take a pole dance class for years. When I walked into Polarity studio, I first noticed how clean it was. Upon arrival, my instructor Brian informed me about taking the elevator up since I had no idea where the studio was (which it's upstairs). He was super friendly and fun. I enjoyed my first pole dance class and can't wait to come back to dance again. read more

Love the ladies and I love pole. But the location just gets to me, I feel a little unsafe with the walk from the parking lot to the studio...they have showcases which I think is great especially for the students who wants to get over stage fright and learn to perform in front of an audience. Love Olga's exotic class! I just love that style of dance, I just wish I had longer legs to make it look pretty. But she comes up with a routine on the spot and that's creative talent right there. All the instructors here are friendly and amazing at what they do. Definitely take a class if you're in the area. read more

We took the Pole 1 class with Shakira Peoples for our friend's bachelorette party! We were a group of 7 and were almost the only ones there. We cannot describe how great our experience with Shakira was! She spent time getting to know us, understanding our comfort and what we wanted out of the class, helping each of us individually, and tailoring the class as we went! She also hyped us up the whole time and made the whole experience so much fun! Everyone in the group who lives here will absolutely be going back! read more

Wish I had more positive feedback to share, but alas I don't. I was visiting the area and emailed the studio as the class I wanted required instructor approval before enrolling. Never got a response. Why would you require instructor approval, and then not respond to your emails? I have been to numerous pole studios across the United states, and I have ALWAYS recieved a response to my emails! Probably because they want business. This place...not so much. A hard pass for me. read more

Took my first Intro to Pole class with Rika about six months ago, and was instantly hooked into the world of pole dancing. I love how it is both sport and art, strength and beauty, body and mind. I've taken classes with all the pole instructors who are supportive, encouraging, and inspiring. I took the Intro class four times before moving into the Beginner class, which I have been taking for a couple of months now. I'm hoping to move into Intermediate soon. The instructors structure the class based on the level of the students who show up that day. There is always a move to challenge you and always a move to make you feel accomplished. I'm also taking the Climbing and Inverting class, which is definitely a workout, especially for your upper body. Going upside down is fun, too! The Raw Flexibility class is great for those who are not flexy, like myself. I have been consistently stretching, though, and can definitely feel myself becoming more flexible. Like anything, consistency will help you get better. The instructors also offer private pole sessions where you can get focused attention. This has been extremely helpful, and also very satisfying since I love focused, intense workouts where I am pushed hard. They ask you to repeat moves, on both your strong and weak sides, challenging your body and mind. I come to pole dancing from a weight lifting background, so I love the strength-based moves such as the handspring (see photo), which I'm working on getting to be more controlled and streamlined. I love how classes are co-ed and how staff and students all have a good attitude. I miss Josh (pictured with me in the photo), who moved away, and hope they will get another male instructor soon. The studio space is clean and inviting with a nice dance floor. I would like to have a male pole instructor again at the studio, as well as a water fountain. Thank you, PoleArity Studio! Yay for my first Yelp review! read more

So glad to finally take a professional level pole class. I may be a beginner but I felt that I was treated as if I were capable. The owner happened to be subbing and it was definitely a treat. You won't find this level of instruction of technique anywhere else on the island. Kindness, patience and encouragement made me want to make this class a staple in my schedule. The value far exceeded the $20 drop in fee! read more

I'll try to keep this brief, as it's just a review for our experience at the student showcase. Multiple points are worthy of complaint (sold raffle tickets and told afterward that we had to be present to claim if we won, when the raffle was apparently going to be at 11pm, hardly any seating, a really strange vibe to the entire experience) but I would only feel the need to warn someone about our treatment from the management. PoleArity regularly advertises on Eventbrite which is where I read about this student showcase. The event said 730-11pm and a price with a little information. Nothing particularly detailed. My husband and I decided to forgo a movie date night to have dinner and try to get tickets at the door for this showcase. We got in at 730 with no problems, $20/person plus our $5/pp raffle tickets that got ya a drink even though we knew we would have to leave before the raffle (which again they didn't tell us until we already paid). So $50 buy in at that point. We managed to find seats we weaseled away from the bar, and perched to sip our drinks. At 830, the show still hadn't started and they began offering short demo classes, which is fun, but not at all what we came for. At 9, they still hadn't started (the performers and the MC who I think is the owner? were taking shots in the bar area). Knowing I had to leave soon to get home to release my babysitter, I gave up and asked one of the girls at the front for a refund of my entry price, minus the raffle tickets and drinks. She said no. I somewhat dumbfoundedly asked her to ask her boss to allow my refund, since we saw none of the show that we paid for. The MC came up to me and told me, after I explained what I wanted, that he wasn't going to refund me because they "don't do refunds". Seeing as we paid in cash, I'm certain that could have reached back into their little cash box and given me my $40 back. I understand having a general "no refund" policy but at this point we had received nothing for what we paid and context is a necessary consideration in business decisions. I, once more, stated that it seemed really unfair since we arrived at 730 and they hadn't even commenced by nine. He said "it says on the flier that we start at 830", which it turns out is true, but was completely missing from the eventbrite listing. Apparently I was supposed to see this event online and then go walk around in Chinatown to find a flier on a wall Incase there was any more pertinent information they left out. He eventually offered to give me free tickets to the next student show, which I ultimately declined because I have literally zero desire to ever step foot in this building again. Too bad, because this person seems to be the promoter or organizer of a wine and poetry event I had planned on attending next month. Naturally, I will abstain now. Where I come from, taking money for something that you did not provide is called stealing. read more

PoleArity is run by the friendliest group of folks - alas, not so good on answering emails or writing class descriptions. My experience as follows: I always write an intro email when visiting a new studio - it will incl link to a recent pole video of me, so I am permitted to go to the right level class. I wrote almost two weeks before arriving in HI to no reply - but I still went because they had classes that fit my skill set (on paper) and schedule. I arrived early and was met by the studio owner and instructor. Both were incredibly welcoming, as well as my fellow students. PoleArity is a mixed use performance arts space, but it is very open and poles are well spaced apart. While I loved every second of Beau's Intermediate II class - the skills taught were much more advance than someone who can - as extracted from the class description - Invert (both sides), crucifix, chair spin, and basic pole skills. Regardless, he is a great instructor who was able to break down the steps to obtaining the tricks e.g. shoulder mount pop. So I guess it's a little bit of choose your own adventure going on here. It will not deter me from going back... just bring yourself and your A game :) read more

I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER giving this place your business. Why? Because in one of the most dire times of our history, this establishment has proven to be a scheming, disgusting, POS!!! They have refused to fix the issues regarding collecting payments for months they have "rendered services" and after numerous with the manager and minions! No avail!!! I have not received my refunds, the auto deducts for monthly fees continue! I have complied with every request they have issued yet deducts still occur! I call and call talk to every Nancy there yet no one is willing to address it! They sent a email saying this is how to go about getting your refund or to discontinue deducts, I complied immediately yet ask me why months later are they still collecting their fees!? Nicole, Nicolette, nicotrash... you are an absolute disgrace to consider yourself a business owner! U are shady and scummy to say the least. So since this business has refused, REFUSED!!! To give me my money back and still continue to collect every month, I took it upon myself to report you folks to the BBB, yes nicotrash, you read that right!? Reported! Anyone looking for a good pole dancing class this is not the place. They will twirl around the pole while u try to get an answer to a business matter. read more

This is one of my first time doing pole classes in general let alone Hawaii. Not familiar with the Honolulu area. Save your money, go to Fit For A Goddess instead. Highly don't recommend PoleArity. During this pandemic, PoleArity informed me that I have an "option to freeze my account or continue classes." After I emailed them to freeze my account, they continued to withdrawal my monthly payment with no explanation. 2 weeks ago, I got in contact with one gentleman, and sent him screen shots of my emails I sent to PoleArity, and asked for a status, he said they are "working on it" and to date I got no response. Like the previous comments, I've reported my issues to the Better Business Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce to further investigate. This establishment should be ashamed of themselves that they take advantage of people- even during a pandemic. read more

Love this place! I took two drop-in classes, one Lyra and one pole class, since I was on vacation and they were great! The website and sign-up are easy to use and you can adjust your class times if something comes up. The staff were so friendly and helpful. If you have any trouble, they are there to help you immediately. The other students were also very friendly and it felt like a great community. I wish I had more time to take more classes! read more

Tonight we went and did a stiletto fitness class here. Put on yo booty shorts (or yoga pants however I don't recommend for the pole), a cute tank, stilettos and come shake your booty and whip that hair. Yes!! I tell you what by the end of the night I'm twerking and shaking my booty like whoa! It was such a blast. At the end of the night this Pole instructor helped us with how to do some moves on the pole. Let's just say I have T-Rex little arms and shouldn't of wore yoga pants because I was slipping and sliding down that pole. I have a new found respect for my stripper friends. I'm contemplating on signing up for more classes so I can learn how the heck that stripper at 939 can twerk the ceiling. Lawd have Mercy!! Ever since I seen this it has been on my bucket list. Lol Beginners got to start somewhere and I can't get a pole at the Casa de Leilei until I learn. Definitely recommend. Bring out your inner sexy. After I emailed them to cancel membership multiple times with no replies, the company kept charging me monthly. Tried calling them multiple times but nobody ever answers the phone. Filed a dispute with the bank and got the charges reimbursed then Polarity kept charging me monthly anyways and on top of that withdrew back from my account the 3 charges that were refunded by the bank to my account. Had to contact the fraud department to get this resolve. Shady company. Very disappointed. read more

Went last night for some Stiletto Fitness with friends. It was tons of fun and Leana was such a fun a great instructor. I wish they had classes in the mornings or afternoons. Only evening classes :( I don't think I've ever had a fitness instructor as great and encouraging as Leana. I totally want to take more of her classes! Leana if you read this, you should have morning classes! Got a great work out, and definitely got squats in for the day. My only complaint is the area is sketchy, but that comes with Chinatown at night. We forgot water bottles, thank goodness Leana had some! Next time, remember water bottles and a change of clothes so that I'm not in skimpy clothes walking back to the car through the darkness of Chinatown. Always go in a big group if you can ladies!
