    New skills!

Ok this place is a little hard to find, but so worth it. For a dark room with some poles, Fit for a Goddess packs a huge empowerment punch. I walked in to an intro class as an event, knowing no one but thinking, "hey I love fitness and feeling sexy, so let's do this!" For a group of shy girls, everyone jumped right in. We started on yoga mats on the floor for a warm up with some sass. Push-ups were seductive, crunches were flirty. Ok, this is fun. Next we learned some basic moves and a short routine on the poles. It was super fun! All of the ladies were encouraging and cheering each other on. As the great Shania Twain sang, "Man, I feel like a woman!" Highly recommend this studio for bachelorettes , girls night out, fitness, or just finding your next sexy playlist, because damn, Gina! I wish I'd taken notes on the music. Gina was the instructor/mentor/owner/mood setter/goddess extraordinaire. She was bad ass, fun, and amazing! She turned that room full of shy girls into empowered women who felt pretty good about doing a little sexy dance. Thanks, girl!

Since my last review, this place has gotten an upgrade. There are now 7 45 mm spin xpoles. **Ladies, if you are still unsure whether or not to try out this place, let me help** Things I love about FFG: ~friendly atmosphere. Everyone I've talked to in intro classes always say the same thing, that they're afraid they're not strong enough, not flexible enough, not sexy enough, etc. etc. That is all I hear. Well guess what ladies, it doesn't matter. The intro is supposed to be like dipping your big toe into the ocean to test out how cold it is. If it's too cold, you decide not to go. Simple. The intro class is really to test where you're at physically and mentally. You will learn a lot about yourself in those 1 hr and 30 minutes, I promise you. You will learn that you are not as shy as you thought you were, that you're probably stronger than you make yourself out to be. And if it's the complete opposite? That's okay too, because everyone in that room is super friendly. ~JUDGE-FREE: seriously cannot emphasize this enough. New incomers always feel like they don't want to try it because they're afraid the other girls will judge them for not being able to execute "easy" moves. Everyone is different. One move may be easier for one girl, and completely impossible for the other. If you try out a class, you'll see that instead of judgement, everyone is encouraging each other and making each other feel good about themselves. ~Amazing upper body workout: Like any other sport, to see results, you need to put in the time and dedication to practice. You can't just go to one intro class and expect to be strong right away. You also can't judge the sport with just one intro class. Try out different instructors per intro, they each have their own style of teaching. With that said, the higher the level, the harder the moves get. So if you really want to start seeing your upper body strength improving, stick to it until you're in level 8/Superstars. The first 2 levels are mostly dancing to get you ladies more comfortable with your body and the pole. But in level 3, you start going upside down. I know it might be pricey, but if you fall in love with pole like I know mostly everyone here did, it'll be well worth it. I think everyone here instantly got addicted. I know I did.

If you want to get your fitness on, this is the place for you!! Honestly the best part about this business is the owner, Gina- she genuinely cares about her clients and teaching you safety, confidence and Pole skills your partner will die for. Her instruction is amazing. If you see her name pop up, take her class! Tip: great place to take your bridesmaids for a bachelorette party!! There are two studios so sometimes classes overlap. The studio is VERY clean, so bonus! Also, they have mats and pads you can borrow if you forget to bring your own. Classes are held 7 days a week for various levels. Class times vary from 60-90minutes. You can be a beginner with no experience or an expert that has been doing it for 10 years! There are TONS of classes for all types- * Pole work * stretching * choreography work * Floor work * foam rolling / recovery * invert conditioning * booty, ab work Etc etc,. You can see; classes are not solely about doing tricks on the pole! Buuuuut, who wouldn't want to learn how to do that! Even if you are remotely thinking about researching more- come take a intro class. You won't regret it. Heck, after I was done I felt like "where has this been all my life?!" It's a huge way to break out of your shell and become more confident! You can learn how to be more sexy with time and it's empowering. Parking: if you're feeling ballsy and want to meter park- pay. They check all the time. Meters can be found along ward Ave. there is a small parking lot for the studio and other businesses however it fills up quickly and you can get door dings pretty easy. You can park across the way by Ross/ Jamba Juice / Starbucks with ease The studio location: it's a bit hidden- walk up the staircase and turn to your right it should be #201 & #202. Once you figure out where, it's easy to find. Ambiance; amazing. Sensual. Great place to workout and hidden from public view yaaay! Haha Also, for many of the classes- NO men are allowed. Gay friends welcomed though! All in all, try it! At least once in your life- you may find a new hobby! All ages welcomed, the first class I took had 18 year olds and 55 year olds!

OMG the best exercise experience I've ever had! If you have not yet tried a poll class you have to try it at least once! It was so much fun, I forgot I was even working out (but I felt it the next day lol). This class really helps to build confidence and muscle all at the same time! Our instructor Jamie was very professional, friendly and made you feel comfortable all at the same time. I definitely have to go back again! Location/Parking: Shopping center customer parking available

If you're feeling adventurous and wanna have a great workout, this is the place to be! The first time I came to FFG, my girlfriends threw me a private party for my birthday. Although I was excited I didn't know what to expect. Gina, the owner who was also our Goddess guide for the evening, made me feel at ease. We had a blast learning a sexy pole, wall, floor, AND chair routine... SO MUCH FUN!! I walked in feeling sheepish and curious but walked out feeling empowered and SEXY AS HECK!! *sassy hair flip* They offer a variety of classes at various times of the day which is a plus with my schedule. All the instructors are FABULOUS... helpful, knowledgeable, creative, and encouraging. Check out their merchandise. A lot of cute tops and bottoms as well as other items. Couple of tips: Bring water. If you forget, bottles of water are available for purchase. DO NOT WEAR LOTION. Oily, greasy skin will prevent you from being able to grip the pole. *Just think Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies* Small parking lot with less than 20 visitor stalls so parking is a hit or miss but plenty of metered street parking. Most of all come with an open mind and HAVE FUN!

My coworkers and I enjoyed the introductory class.

My girlfriend will be attending a class and I was wondering if there's a seating area where I may watch?

There is a bench and maybe floor space to sit against the wall. However, most classes are women only and maybe the other women in the class may not be comfortable having an audience.

Recently, I've noticed that on my account activity, I've been attending a ballet class. I don't attend those classes, and I've been very careful of not entering a class that wasn't my respective class. I asked someone about this and they told me there was a girl in the ballet class that had the same name as me and they would fix it. Fine. Next day, I see it again, I'm being charged for a ballet class. I'm fuming at this point. I call, they say again, it'll be fixed. It doesn't. Nothing I do is getting this issue fixed and I'm sick of having to call everyday because they're not checking the email of who is checking in. I doubt she has the same email as me, and if I have to keep going through this then I don't think I'll be staying at the studio.

Inner city studios are known for having zero parking, but there are actually a few stalls in their lot + street parking + parking @ a nearby shopping center (shh.) - so many different classes for the keiki AND adults. That's right. I know some of y'all secretly want to appear on world of dance and you can fulfill those dreams here. Classes change around every season for the adult classes, but hip hop 1 and street femme on Tuesday nights + hip hop 2 and intro to hip hop on Wednesday nights are here to stay! - all of the instructors are personable! New studios can be intimidating; here's how to navigate this one: 1. The building is a two-story blue building next to Still and Moving Center. Enter through the right door that has a small Honolulu Dance Studio sign on it. 2. You'll see a narrow stairwell on your left. Walk up the stairwell, put your outside shoes on the shoe rack on the top, and slip your dance shoes on (yes, you need indoor shoes specifically for dance, whether that's ballet slippers, jazz shoes, indoor hip hop shoes). 3. Walk over to the registration table on the left and fill out a clipboard to get yourself/your child registered + pay. 4. Wait until the dance instructor calls you in, put your water + belongings on the inner racks, and have FUN! Hope to see you in class!

Here was my experience on a Monday evening (8:30-10). AMBIANCE: Surroundings - Not the most touristy part of Honolulu but it's across a pretty nice apartment complex regardless be cautious. The studio itself is on the second floor. Pretty spacious that's decked out with a mirror and space for about 15-20 people. I got lost at first but after hearing music bumping, I knew I was in the right area. They got mirrors to check yourself. Parking - There's street parking or a parking lot right next door. Customer Service - The open session was pretty fun. I enjoyed the beats and the company. Marc was the main person in charge and he was pretty helpful. TL;DR OVERALL 5 Stars. Dancing is always hard, regardless if you're a beginner or not. It can be difficult from mastering a move to creating your art, but what helps if you're in a supportive environment and these are one of those spaces. I encourage people of all ages to check this place out. Advice: * Bring water * Don't be afraid to ask for help.

I've heard of Studio 808's dance programs but have never taken a class until I heard about the Zumba class being offered there. You can take the stairs or elevator to the 2nd floor and reach the studio on the Leeward Drive-Inn side. Once arriving, there is a front desk area set up in front of the studio where people were manning. You can pay in cash or Venmo (I did the mobile pay option because I didn't have cash). Fortunately, Studio 808 has also catered the Zumba class as a remote class so you can actually sign up for the class and dance from home by watching the instructor. Upon arriving to the class, the room was overall clean and spacious. Because the class is also done virtually, there wasn't many people in the room. The Zumba instructor was Erin and I have nothing but great things to say about him. As someone who isn't a dancer, Erin was kind enough to teach the lessons via virtual cam and in-person. The overall class was a lot of fun and I enjoyed the music better at Studio 808 compared to the Zumba classes I take at 24 Hour Fitness. I would definitely recommend to go with Erin because he's exudes positive energy, always smiles while breaking a sweat and definitely knows what he's doing. I was even watching the participants online (who were older folks) and they seemed to thoroughly enjoy the class at home as they would in studio. If you're up for doing a Zumba class in Waipahu (or simply at your own home), I would definitely recommend this class to take. Admission is about $7 per class but the first class is free! Classes are every Tuesday from 6-7pm.
