It's one of the cleanest, quietest beach near kapolei. That is not common to come by! Prior entering to the beach, you do have to drive to Kapalina Beach Homes (beach side apartment rentals) and go through security. Once you let security know you're heading to the beach, they'll grab a pic of your insurance car and license plate. I have had no issues entering this cute village. The beach is so spacious, you'll for sure find an area where you could be far from others. There were chairs and umbrellas that are set up for anyone's use. If you're feeling snacky, the D'lish at the beach is a great bar/grill that is reasonably priced. I've seen family have big patty's in the pavilion. Also have seen people use the multiple grills around the beach entrance. My favorite perk of the beach is that it's dog friendly! What a gem of a place to discover.

We love the food area, I personally love using the gym, and my husband, kids, and I all really enjoy the pool and water area. The kids have also had such a great experience with the sports clinics. It's just such a positive, family-friendly environment overall, and you can tell a lot of care goes into the facility and programs. We're very grateful to have such a great family facility here on Oahu!

They always have a few lifeguards on duty, and the pool even has a rock climbing area. How unique! They have a lot of other programs you can sign up for and even do plays sometimes throughout the year. This is in my opinion one of the best recreational centers on Oahu! The staff is awesome here. They are helpful and friendly! There is also a place where they serve coffee and food. Affordability wise, considering the variety of amenities they have including pickleball tournaments and the option for family plans, you get a lot of value much more than you would get with a typical gym membership. We pay roughly $100 a month for a small family and so that's a great value in my opinion!

For laps, I love the Patsy Mink/Veteran's pool in Waipio, but for kids play, this pool is convenient and more than sufficient with its 2 shallow areas and area for diving and jumping, in the deep section of the pool. Suggestion: even if it is salt water, it would be best to have googles as the water burns the eyes quickly. It is the ideal spot for a birthday party with the big park available next to it, but what is inconvenient is that this pool is not consistently open. You have to check. With the government the way it is, I'm just glad it is still open but I check before going. Also, if there are parties at the park, like this weekend, those parties can cause the pool to get pretty full as it is a pretty small pool. No one got hurt though so that works. There is usually an abundance of parking available, even with the parties at the park, and I found that all of the life guards are pretty alert and yet respectful in their approach to correcting dangerous behavior. The showers can be a bit cold, but I have found that overall, the water of the pool is warmer then most. Even on those empty days without all those bodies in the water, distributing their heat and, um, maybe other heating elements. lol I'm not sure but it could be heated. Put on your sunscreen and sunglasses because even though free swim is usually between 3:15 and 5, it can be sunny! Oh, just in case you were wondering, on weekdays there are usually 2 lanes open for lap swim and it usually is empty. I don't believe there is lap swim on weekends. Happy Swimming!

It is near homes in waikele, next to the fire station, and across of the waikele stores. Parking lot is huge and can accomdoate large crowds I used to go to this pool all the time when I was younger, and im surprised they are still open and have free swim here!! Definitely aging facilities but still pretty good for a public swimming pool!
