I'm currently sitting in the food court, using their free Wi-Fi, watching the 2017 Pacific Rim International Futsal Cup at this amazing new facility. I never played a lick of soccer in my life, but my partner spent most her life playing. Because of this, we decided to come check this place out. She cannot stop raving about how nice the facility is!! Unbeknownst to us, the Director came and sat down next to us and "talked story" and gave us a lot of good info. My partner even asked about a women's league. We didn't even know who he was until much later, which impressed us both because of how friendly and accommodating he was. The facility is super clean...it just opened in October. They have a food court on the 2nd level that overlooks Court 1 (you can seen Court 2 as well). Court 3 is on the 2nd level. As of right now, they only have mens leagues but have a growing interest in womens. On Fridays, they have open play for $15. There is ample parking, even the parking lot is clean! There is an elevator to accommodate those who cannot climb the stairs. There are multiple television monitors throughout the building keeping you apprised of the scores. There is a small pro shop where you can purchase various shirts, balls, and indoor shoes. I'm surprised this business was not on Yelp yet, so now it is!!

    Thank you 808 Futsal!

My son has had a hard time figuring out what he wants to do as an extra curricular sport. He's…read moretried flag football, judo, soccer and basketball. He was really enjoying basketball and didn't seem too keen on soccer (and actually hated judo although he was doing it the longest). Enter Nemesis Soccer Academy, founded this past summer (2018) by Ben Villaflor, who was a great soccer player in Hawaii. My son first said he was not interested in playing but decided to give it a shot because he found a pair of soccer shoes that he wanted to buy (and I refused to get it unless he played club soccer). Ben's vision and philosophy might be different than other clubs. The focus at my son's age (8) is on development of the individual player. It is to develop skill at your age and your ability - giving you the tools to grow as an individual. Yes, you are very much part of a team, but you're developing your ability in order to be the most successful you can be when all is said and done. Focus and the goal at this age is not on winning and goals - it is about developing skill, protecting the ball, being aggressive on the ball, ball control, touches on the ball and all the good stuff that comes with it. Yes, they will learn more to the game as the years go on. The boys at this age are given equal opportunity to touch the ball in games, play different positions and learn from each other. I'm shocked by how much skill my son (and really all the kids on his team) have picked up and have been able to use in games, and how much they have grown just in 3 months. Many on the team came from previous club teams so I can't speak to how it differs as my son didn't play club soccer before. But I've seen so much growth, enthusiasm, smiling and great attitudes. The boys are developing friendships, confidence and so much more. In just 3 months, my son went from not wanting to play to someone who will not stop kicking the ball around... the house, the park, I've found the ball in his bed while he's sleeping - it's everywhere. He even wrote a paper in school about soccer! The coaches have been amazing and the parents are equally as amazing too! We're grateful for an opportunity to be a part of this club!

Really good soccer facilities so many fields parking is an issue. Too bad they only have a one lane…read moreroad for In-N-Out traffic. The stadium is nice and bathrooms are nice there but other than that get there early, especially on the weekend. It's crowded

This soccer complex is HUGE. Don't mistake it for the Patsy Mink Park in Waipio by Outback Steak…read moreHouse. This one you need to head to Waipahu and turn left by the school then keep going straight til your reach the fields. There's quite a bit of parking stalls but just depends on how many games are going on at that area you're headed to. Most of our games this time around are at 14 so just look for the signs. Luckily the few times we've come we didn't need to use the restrooms or even know where they are. Watch the weather. Might be a good idea to bring an umbrella to protect yourself from the harsh sun or intermittent drizzle. Feel for the kids who are playing in the rain like this past Saturday. Thoughtful coaches put up a tent for their players comfort during pep talks or water breaks. You might want to bring a collapsible chair if sitting on a goza(mat) or the ground is not for you. In that case you may need to invest in a rolling cart cuz you'll probably pack some bottled water and snacks too along with your chairs and umbrellas. Good chance to soak in some natural vitamin D and watch or cheer for your favorite player or team.
