I've been to Schofield Bowling Alley multiple times and my experiences have not really improved. A year ago the food was pretty decent but it has lately been worse. I'm not sure what changed but the pizza is not good and turned my stomach, the cookies are incredibly hard, and the hotdogs had bits of cartilage. Now on top of all this - they recently implemented a rule of not allowing any food or drink onto the table in the middle of the bowling seating where in any other bowling establishment is a very common practice. This is a NEW rule and one employee was extremely rude about it. It's understandable but inconvenient now. The only redeeming factor is the price to bowl. If you're looking for a cheap game and have nothing else to do it can be a good spot. Most of the employees are pretty friendly too. read more

It's been a minute since we've been bowling so last night, my husband and I headed to Schofield Bowling Alley for some inexpensive fun. It was busy with a good sized crowd. The alley itself, while showing signs of age and crying out for some modern touches, had an old-school vibe. The lanes were well-maintained, and we had a good time getting into the game. I've always enjoyed the sounds of pins crashing and fun banter that you hear going on. We did have the bowling balls get stuck in the return a couple of times and once the pins didn't reset. The service button on didn't work so my husband walked up to the desk and they fixed it quickly. A standout of the evening was the staff at the food counter. They were super friendly and had lots of smiles. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite match up to their enthusiasm. My husband had a cheese burger and fries, and I had waffle fries and friend pickles. Honestly, we found them underwhelming. The flavors were lackluster, leaving us a disappointed. We played two games and rented shoes it came to $22 for the night. Nevertheless, the overall experience was a good one. Would definitely go again. read more

My brother them got into bowling almost a year ago and go almost daily. I go once in a while, my brother gave me one of his bowling balls that he does not really use. Anyways... Schofield bowling is clean and well maintained. I live Ewa and I'm willing to make the drive there because of that. The food... don't expect amazing food, it's a bowling alley. Food is what you'd expect for a bowling alley... but it's edible and for the prices there it is decent. Prices in general there is a lot less than any other bowling alley. Price per game, shoe rentals and everything is cheaper. Getting in is a little of an hassle compared to if you just go to barbers point bowling center but that's because it is on base. You have to stop and show identification and what not but nothing major. If you aren't military personnel.. don't worry. They let civilians on as well, just tell them you're there for the bowling alley and they'll give you a day pass. Overall I would go back and even more likely because that's my brother's preferred spot. I won't be going daily like my brother but I most definitely will be back. read more

Never been to this Alley till last night (Saturday). Fun times bowling with Family & Friends. We got there at 5:30pm and it wasn't too busy. A lot of people started to arrive around 7pm. That's when most of the lanes were being used. The snack bar had a long line that took a while to shorten. Pretty good selection of food and drinks which is reasonably priced. The three hard working wahine's running that snack bar was awesome! Even the wahine at the front/check-in desk was awesome! The alley is super clean. AC set at the perfect temperature. I rarely bowl but when I do, I prefer the lights on. Not into the cosmic style that they had the entire 4 hours we were there. read more

Fun fun fun for the whole family! If you love to bowl & are a military family with base access then this is definitely the place to go. You will need a military ID to get onto base to head here. The bowling alley here is clean, the staff is so sweet and it is very affordable at $4 a game paired with a $3 shoe rental. This was my husbands idea and boy I am so glad we came. Our daughter had fun exploring and cheering us on. We ended up playing two games and made sure to check out the snack bar as well and the loco mocos we ordered were delicious and cooked to perfection and had a generous portion! My husband even managed to get a haircut at the Barber shop also located within the bowling alley. Will definitely be back again soon! read more

This is always our go-to bowling spot. The rates are always phenomenal and they just remodeled the lanes. The staff is very courteous and respectful. It feels clean and organized. If you have base access and can get on to bowl, this is the spot to go! The people bowling are always very nice and respectful. We never have to worry about who is playing next to us. Luckily, no masks are required. They will disinfect your ball for you and bring the toddler bowling slide, if you need it. While your bowling, you can also grab some munchies and brews. We did grab a couple appetizers, but they're basically heated and fried frozen food. The beer is reasonably priced, as well. We will continue to come here in the future! read more

I took my 5 year old niece here for a morning of fun! She had a blast. The staff was friendly and was able to assist us in getting shoes and pointing the way in getting a lighter ball for her. It was easy to get her the bumpers and a ball slopey thingy to help her bowl. This is a great way to spend some quality family time. I highly recommend. read more

I usually come here with my husband and we love bowling here. The lanes are nice and we've never had a problem with that however if you come here I would definitely recommend not ordering food. OMG, I really enjoyed our time spent at the Schofield Bowling Center. I wasn't feeling well and hubby made me get out the house. We originally showed up at 11am to find that they didn't open til 3pm. So we left and went to check out H-Mary to kill some time. When we returned, I was amazed to see all the families that were together bowling. Holding birthday parties. So there's 4 of us and we're on lane 18. Right in the middle of the scene. All you hear is laughter and pins. We visit the food court. Ordered up world famous curly fires. I was hesitant about ordering the Fried Pickles. However, I digress. They were the bomb. I had to order 2 more because the guys demolished them. At 5pm stars the cosmic bowling. All the lights go out and there's disco lights everywhere. It actually made bowling so much more fun. We bowled. We laughed. We laughed so hard that we cried. We left full of Fried Pickles. It's been a while since I've been to this bowling alley. It looks fantastic inside. Very modern and clean. The food counter was closed and opened back up at 5 pm so I missed it. Getting through the gate is simple. You just need one person, preferably the driver to show their military ID. Everyone else in the car just needs to show a form of ID upon request. From Lyman Gate, drive straight until you see a brown sign on the right side that says "Bowljng Center". Don't drive too fast or you'll miss it like we did. I followed the address on yelp and got even more lost. Apparently the bowling center is located in building 577 but there's a sign right out the entrance doors that says otherwise. Our bowling lane was in good and working condition. We even got to control the bumpers from our side without having to go and call a guy. As for service, we didn't encounter any problems. The guy and the girl at the counter were normal lol unlike what others have experienced. Food wise, yes it's all the bad and greasy food you can think of. But!! They do have other things on the menu like "loco moco". I haven't tried it though. The fries were good and the nachos were good. The pizza was big, very cheesy, not like your typical Papa Johns or Pizza Hut kind of pizza but it was still good. The only downside during this visit was that we didn't get to experience cosmo night. We got here around 6:30pm and stayed until 8:30pm and nothing happened. They didn't even play music. One of their ceiling fans above us weren't working, but despite the little things, I'd say it was still pretty fun coming here. You can't beat the price. It's cheaper and better than going other places. And the neighborhood isn't sketchy. read more

The building itself is up to the standard of any other bowling alley, and the discounted rates are a great bonus. We have had a great time here in the past, but had an awful experience this Saturday night. Their hours on the door claim they close at 10PM, we walk in at 9:10 on a weekend and are denied a lane because they have already closed the registers. Not only did we not get to bowl, the way the whole front desk staff talked to us was downright demeaning. They acted like we were bad people for wanting to enjoy our night, complete with eye rolls and attitude. I'm sure Schofield can hire people with some form of customer service as opposed to rude people who are too lazy to do their job. read more

My family and I bowl here quite often. Though I have been here a whole lot more than they have. It used to be a weekly Monday night tournament thing. I would tag along with my papa and he would pay me for helping out and to play games in the game room. My usuals at the food stand was grilled cheese or chili cheese fries. Decently priced games to play and shoes to rent. A nice family outing with friends was our latest visit. The cosmo lights and music were working, luckily. However, you can choose to request songs for a price. The unfortunate part is that someone thought it would be a great idea to play scream music. Why is that an option!? Ew. For civilians to gain access, enter through lineman gate and provide the guard with valid ID & documents such as car registration, safety check and insurance card I believe. However, the sponsor doesn't have to be the person driving the vehicle. As long as their military ID is valid and all other ID's are provided at the gate. But if you don't have one you still need to get a pass and they make you open up your vehicle hood, doors, and trunk while you stand aside. read more

They have a bar and a counter that served food, so you can eat/drink while waiting. We played 2 games, had fun, but wanted out, too crowded. One of my favorite places. When I was pregnant I bowled every week sometimes twice a week. Went on Thursday for a quick after work challenge with my boyfriend. Tuesday's and Thursday's have $1 games which is awesome! There was a little bit of a wait which was fine because I stopped by the shop there to buy my shoes! The place is always well kept because they have people cleaning all the time. At the concession stand I got chicken strips and fries which to me tasted just like Jack In The Box lol. They're fast and friendly. The only thing that bummed me out since haven't been there in a year or so is that they removed the game TVs from the waiting area of the lanes. those were my favorite to play photo hunt! Always call the check on other days and times you go. They have league playing on certain days and some leagues are big that take up a lot of the lanes. If you do go and a league is playing it's still nice to watch. We have a lot of talented bowlers here and you'll pick up tips from watching them. Lol read more

The snack bar offers the basics due to the fact that it's a military base and the soldiers like their Cheese burgers and fried Philly steaks and fried chicken. But everyday they have a daily specials. Pork Adobo, Hamburger steak, Pastele stew and Baked Spaghetti. I had Pork Guisantes today and it was real good. If you are able to go onto the base, eat the snack bar. $10.25 is two scoops of rice, Mac salad or tossed salad , entree and a large drink. Great deal. read more

The prices are low and there are many lanes open. The process for non military is very thorough. We had to open all doors and trunk and all adults had to get out of the car, give the officer our id, type in our social security number, take a photo and they printed out our pass. read more

With the closing of most public bowling centers on Oahu, luckily for us bowlers civilians are allowed to come on base and bowl here. To enter you need your drivers license & your car must have a current registration and safety check. They inspect your car inside and out, then they give you a pass good for that day only. It has 44 lanes and it's usually not a problem getting lanes for practice. We usually come here during week nights since they stay open until 10pm. So if you're looking somewhere to sharpen your game, this is the place to go! read more

First of all, there ain't even very many bowling alleys, so how can you really put one down. What do you want it to do, close? Pluses: It is close to my house and, on Sunday nights (when we usually go), there isn't traffic. There is always available mega touch machines, parking, lanes, balls, shoes, and ramps (for the 5 year old). Prices, as far as I know, are reasonable. No outrageous swearing, intoxication, etc. being that it is on the Military base. Finger foods, i.e. garlic french fries, chicken wings, are heavenly pieces of grease that are not greasy. (How the hello? I wish I knew.) Not too sure about the prices. Minuses: I am not a competitive bowler, so I'm not really that picky. Nothing to insert here. read more

Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. The drive from the Pearl City/ Aiea area is about 20min-ish to Schofield which isn't badly all. People here loo-love the food. Who doesn't love bowling alley food it's the best! They offer items such as a veggie platter, pizza, chicken wings, etc. The pricing is great and affordable for families/ military/civilians around $2. Saturday is cosmic bowling so they turn off the lights and turn on the strobes. Unfortunately the music wasn't working tonight so we couldn't get the full experience but still enjoyed the lights and hanging out. They have bumpers for kiddos, so you can include your little ones in on the fun. Definitely recommend as a great affordable family/friend activity. read more

The Schofield Bowling Pro shop is now our go to spot for bowling equipment. The Shop worker, treats you like their own. He goes through everything on the different types of ball you may want to get to match your bowling style. Not only that, but he teaches you how a good bowling ball feels and what a shitty one feels like. Today, I got my motive ball drilled with new grips and feels amazing. If you have access to the base, definitely a place to buy or get your equipment checked. Can't wait to use my freshly drilled ball on the lanes!!! read more

If you love to bowl, you should come here. They just renovated the place. So all new flooring, walls, and even brand new shoes. Only downside to them renovating was that the floors were a little slippery but not too much were me or my family fell or slipped but it was hard to grip. It took me a few tries to get my gripping right on my feet and I was able to adjust. I think with time the floors will become broken into. The shoes were nice because they were still new and not all worn out like old bowling shoes. The seating areas around the bowling lanes were all new furniture including the tables and chairs right above the bowling lanes. They had a sign up saying have cosmic bowling every Sunday from 5-9pm. Not sure if they have other nights they do cosmic bowling. Bowling games are $3/game and $3 or $4 for shoe rentals. With the screens there are different themes you can choose from if you want to look at something different. If you don't have e a military ID you can always go get a pass and say you want to go bowling. There are lots of lanes. Good is reasonably priced with hot dogs were $1.50 or $2. They also serve beer, which is always a plus. Lots of parking. There are signs to show you where the bowling alley is located as it's off of the main entrance road. Clean and newly renovated so now is the time to enjoy. read more

Chaperoned kids for a field trip. Place was clean. Not crowded on a Monday from 9 am until noon. About 12ish several folks/groups both retirees and uniformed started coming in to eat and bowl. Bathrooms were fairly clean. Breakfast, lunch, & dinner served here...fast food type. Fairly good breakfast though with pancakes eggs bacon juice etc. Kitchen Staff was so-so...must not like their job much. Guess that's what happens when u work at a bowling alley. I've come here a few times both with my family for fun and with coworkers as a team building experience. This place is very reasonably priced. For active duty military, they have a lunch special where its like $2 or something for a couple games and shoes or something like that. Even for DoD civilians, its still a great price compared to off post (and likely less crowded). The shoes here are clean and newer looking which I appreciate. The lanes here are nice and clean. The balls are decent, but finding the lighter sizes can be a little difficult at times. They offer children balls here and have the bumpers and ramps for them as well. The best part of this place is the food. Its your regular alley food like pizza, wings, burgers, and fries--but SUPER cheap! My family and I love coming here to get some food and play a couple of games for cheaper than the price of movie tickets alone. A definite must for family fun time! read more

We love having family time at the bowling alley!! The place looks a little dated from the outside but the lanes are very well maintained, rarely have issue with the pin setters freezing, and good cheap eats and drinks. Only place on post you can get mozzarella sticks - seen soldiers come in just to eat them and leave. For a family of three it costs us on average $10 - $15 for 2 or 3 games each and shoe rental - which is a really good price!! Given the high cost of activities on Oahu. Plus you don't have to deal with tourist, long lines, people not respecting personal space. We normally come during lunch time or a little after and make an afternoon of bowling and eating good greasy bowling alley food. While we aren't pros a bowling there is a pro shop that has a good selection of balls, shoes, and accessories. I personally already own mine own ball; tired of trying to find a ball that would fit my fat fingers and not weight a ton. Never had an issue with disrespectful staff or other bowlers; of course there are the occasional kids that don't understand bowling etiquette but who cares its just for fun. If you are looking for some cheap fun and food or drinks then I would highly recommend the Schofield Bowling Alley; pretty sure they have leagues and cosmic bowling too if you are interested in that. read more

Came here tonight for a family outing and called ahead since getting on base is much more strict than 15 years ago. Before you head out to Schofield make sure you (the driver) have a current driver's license, car registration, and insurance card. All other passengers over 16 must present a valid picture ID as well. All visitors must enter through Lyman Gate and will be directed to a vehicle search area. Be prepared to step out of your vehicle and open the hood and truck. It's a quick process during the off times. Getting to the alley is really simple from the gate. Seniors (55 and older) and Jr (under 18) bowl for $2.25. It's $3.00 for adults during non cosmic times. Cosmic bowling is $3.75. I believe rental shoes were $2.00 per pair. I love bowling at Schofield as it was my favorite alley for tournaments. I'm not a big fan of cosmic bowling but it is nice to have when you live in the central part of the island. read more

To be honest i never had horrible service until tonight. The lady there i believe her name is sydney. She is a young caucasian lady. We got there at 7 something and she was getting mad because we had a party of 13. She kept repeating her self that they close at 9 and once its 9 shes out. She kept rushing us while we was going to pay. Shes like its $50 so all you guys just gather your money so its faster. Were like not everybodys here and shes like ohh ok. Im like wth like don't be trying to rush us and stuff just because you like go home at 9. Later she called us assholes and she told this other lady that dont worry i like you guys just not them and pointing to us. Im guessing she just dosnt care about customer service because if she did she would of been nicer instead of being rude and disrespectful. We wanted to go bowling so we decided to come here because Aiea is waaaaaay to crowded. First of all, it was very easy to get on base. Went through the main gate, gave our ID's and got passes. DONE. We went on a Saturday which cosmic bowling I believe starts at 6pm. It took us about 15 minutes to get our lanes but after that it was really fun! PROs -lots of lanes -not that crowded -cost for cosmic bowling $3.75 per game (civilian price) -food is pretty good -music was good CONs -it's far away if you live in town -not many seats in the bowling area After we were done I was like, why don't we do this more often. Decided to have a family night out with friends here and was looking forward to cosmic bowling. When we got in the parking lot we noticed there was a portable bathroom truck parked out front. That can't be good... walked up the stairs and the automatic door is out of order... Ok it gets worse. Inside, there's no music. Come to find out they are under renovation but still open for bowling. The crappy thing is that the prices are still the same. $25 a lane per hour up to 8 people per lane. Cosmic bowling with no music just means flashing lights. Not so much fun. Before "cosmic bowling" started, lanes are $15 an hour per lane including shoes. The food is good and not a bad deal either, not taxed. Lots of parking but the lot is full of pot holes. I'm glad the facility is getting a facelift I just wish they'd have some kind of "pardon our dust" discount lol. Our lane continually broke down. There was a 5-15 minute wait every time it did. We were just told "sorry he's busy" in an irritated tone (less than half the lanes were open). When I asked if we could move lanes because it was the third time it happened I was told almost the entire place was reserved for league teams. So I was offered no refund, no nothing. It took us, a group of 4 people, over 2.5 hours to bowl. The bathrooms are outside in a trailer, so you have to take your bowling shoes off to go to the restroom. So if you have young kids account for that (and the possibility for accidents). read more
