Bar Stool on sale.
Mattie L.

Really nice items for everyday, gifts, and all your everyday needs. Beautiful, reasonable items to fit everyone's needs.

This location is bigger than the pearland location. It has more supplies and a wide variety of anything you might need for your home decor. Rugs, lamps, window treatments, vases, bathroom supplies, mirrors, organizers and kitchen supplies. The staff was helpful and quick during checkout

Good items. Bad customer service. Expect to wait a while even if only one person is in front of you.

Great stuff but it's a nightmare returning items. They should have a counter dedicated to returns

For my aunt, it's the go-to place for entire flats of mix and match edible plants, and also unusual plants. She says it's the best quality, selection and price. She now goes here with friends and family when I cannot go with her. For my friend its an opportunity for fancifulness, like you're in the opening of a Disney female main character scene where nature is chirping and buzzing in a concentration of a diverse, bountiful, beautiful plant life, and for me its both the practicality of edible plants, native plants, and unusual plants. I've seen the owner give a talk at OHBA. It cemented my respect for EG. So much comprehensive knowledge, and deep care. Before, I had noticed the employees are happy, present, and knowledgeable. EG is leagues beyond corporate stores. Yes, support local, but also seems EG is authentically supporting the local community too.

Took off one star because I feel like some of the plants were not the best condition. My coneflower died within a couple of days. I think the outdoor plants are a decent value. The indoor plants are a bit pricy. Plenty of parking overall. I rushed through shopping but I want to come back when it's not raining because there's definitely more to explore.

The rose trees were few but I know I got a late start this year and will return earlier for best selections. I'm on their Facebook group and know they just got their David Austin roses in so I had to come in today and leave with two roses. Value is great - their hanging baskets are gorgeous and the proven selection ones were only $24.99 each. He was looking for Dallas Red lantana and of course he would find it here. I bought several herbs and other flowers. Also we got pictures with the Easter Bunny today! There are goats and chickens, too. I bought so much before that I was given a $15 credit to apply to today's purchase! Highly recommended and there was live music and a food truck.

I recently visited this Lowe's for some yard project supplies, and while it wasn't a terrible…read moreexperience, it definitely had some frustrating aspects worth pointing out. This is especially true if you're planning a visit or relying on product reviews. First, the store was reasonably clean, and we managed to grab a cart that was in good shape (not one of those decades-old, squeaky, impossible-to-push types), which I appreciated. The hardscaping section was a bit of a letdown. They didn't have nearly as many options as I was hoping for, but I still ended up purchasing a few things to test at home, including a huge plant, several pots, and a bunch of miscellaneous items. Our cart was overflowing by the time we reached checkout. The checkout process itself needs serious improvement. Aside from the contractor desk, it's basically all self-checkout, which is usually my preference. But if you're buying anything without a visible barcode, like loose stones or landscaping rock, it quickly becomes a hassle. The rocks weren't marked, and I hadn't taken photos of the barcodes for every sample. I scanned the ones I had photographed and searched the Lowe's website for the rest. An employee passed by and said she'd be back to help after assisting someone else. We managed to figure most of it out on our own, and eventually, another employee helped us with the final rock that we couldn't identify. Here's the deal: if Lowe's wants to push self-checkout (which is fine), they really need to provide customers with the same item lookup book that employees use. Expecting people to self-checkout without giving them the tools to look up unmarked items is just a bad system. From now on, I'll be photographing every barcode before heading to the register. That's my hot tip for you. While I was there, I also found a hose reel I wanted to buy. It was the Style Selections steel 100 ft container hose reel. I looked it up on Lowe's website and saw that it had great reviews. I noticed there was also a 125 ft version with similarly glowing reviews. Since my cart was full and I'd injured my back the day before, I figured I'd just order it online and have it delivered. Once I got home and looked at the reviews more carefully, I realized almost all of them are incentivized. Many were written through influenster.com or started with some variation of, "I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review." Lowe's also has its own program called the "Lowe's Incentivized Reviewer Program." This program offers customers a Lowe's e-gift card for posting reviews for items they have previously purchased. These are marked with a little "Loop" icon. The problem is, when hundreds of reviews for a product are incentivized, the entire system becomes meaningless. These aren't like Yelp reviews, where people volunteer their time to provide honest, unpaid feedback. These reviews are made in exchange for some kind of benefit. To get an actual sense of what customers genuinely think, you'd have to manually sift through the entire list and sort out the non-incentivized ones--maybe even create a spreadsheet. It's absurd. Lastly, while I didn't have too much trouble scanning everything myself, I can't imagine how difficult it would be for someone who is elderly or has a disability. Some of the items are large, heavy, or awkward to handle. There was only one employee overseeing multiple checkout stations, and she was elderly herself. My mom, for instance, would've just given up and walked out. Even if most people prefer self-checkout these days, the store should still have at least one or two full-service lanes available for customers who need extra help--whether due to physical limitations or just having a cart full of difficult items. All in all, I don't hate Lowe's--and I'll probably be back out of necessity--but they could make some easy improvements that would go a long way. Better checkout support, honest product reviews, and more customer-friendly policies would make this location a lot more pleasant to shop at.

The problem came when it was time to check out. The guy on the first register from the checkout line to the left around 1:45pm on December 24, 2024 is the reason I am leaving this review. My mom and I were next in line to checkout and the other registers were occupied by other customers alsobchecking out. When the young cashier guy finished ringing up his customer instead of checking us out next, he walks off and pretends to busy himself with something which was very obvious he didn't want to ring up anyone BUT when the next register opened up and my mom and I walked to the next cashier he immediately went back to his register to take the next customer behind us. At that moment it was extremely clear he didn't not want to ring us up for whatever reason but that was extremely rude! I don't want to say race was a part of it but I can't think of any other reason he choose to intentionally not ring us up when we had the same amount of items the customer he helped before and after us had. This really messed up our first time experience at Ollies. The cashier lady to the right side we ended up going to was very nice and signed my mom up for the Ollies Army rewards. After we left I called and spoke to the manager, I think his name is Mike or Michael. I explained what just took place and he was very nice and said he will run the cameras back and also notify upper management. We appreciate him for hearing our concern and not dismissing us. Hopefully the cashier takes a customer service course or finds a new job where he free to be rude else where. This was very upsetting to be treated the way we were and it being obvious in plain sight. Hopefully a real consequence for the young boy comes out of it.
