I started hearing about this place on a social media site. Decided that I did not want to cook over the 4th holiday, so I ordered lots of items from Home Flavor. Every dish was five star. Fresh, lots of fresh chunky vegetables in the chow mien and the fried rice. Nothing was greasy or overly salty. The orange chicken was stellar with pieces of orange rind and mildly spicy. So yummy. Mongolian beef was lovely slices of top quality meat with no fat and again, mildly spicy. Even their rice was the highest quality and plenty of it. I'm so glad I tried this little place. The interior has what I might cautiously call a "lack of ambiance", however, the diners who were there were being beautifully taken care of and seemed happy with the service. My boyfriend and I dined in for the first time after hearing amazing reviews and we are so happy we did! Easily the best Chinese food both of us have ever had, I brought a takeout order for my dad as well and my whole family tried and agreed it is the best Chinese food that they have also had! We tried the orange chicken, Mongolian beef, sichuan fried green beans, egg rolls, beef lo mein, and they brought us out a complimentary eggplant in garlic sauce-which is something I don't think I'd typically order but was absolutely amazing and I will now reorder every time! Portion sizes are great and so are the prices. You can tell the food is cooked with quality ingredients, care, and by someone who is passionate about cooking! We have lived in Pinellas for 12+ years and have tried many Chinese food restaurants and basically gave up because they all fell short of actually being good until today. It is a small restaurant that is very clean and appears to be family operated. The parking is going to be an huge issue because there is not enough spaces for the strip center. That being said the food was freshly prepared and the servings were so large we had to take them home. The best Chinese food we have had in Pinellas and so much better than any other by far. I've been reading about Home Flavor Chinese restaurant in Largo and all the wonderful reviews it received so I wanted to try it for myself. This is a Mom and Pop restaurant with their young son adding an extra hand. It is not a fancy place frankly bare bones it was a sushi joint before under different owners. What it lacks in elegance it more than makes up in the quality of the food. The owners are very friendly and they explained that in order to maintain freshness and keep costs down they are initially prepping a limited amount of dishes until they get busier and invest in bringing in another cook. It makes a lot of sense and it's a wonderful business model to slowly grow the business while maintaining quality ingredients. I started out with the hot and sour soup and although I would have liked some shredded pork in the soup the reality is most Chinese restaurants have eliminated the pork as well as woods ear mushrooms in their recipes many years ago as an economical move but that being said the soup was delightful! It had the right amount of heat and amazing hearty flavor. I had a homemade egg roll and it was very tasty. For my main dish I had the Sichuan Shrimp. I really enjoyed this dish. It was so different from the typical sub par Chinese food in the area. The vegetables were all fresh and crisp the sauce and seasoning was really yummy!!! The dish had the right amount of spice for my taste buds and I'm sure if you want the spice more or less intense they owners will gladly accommodate you. There was a very generous amount of shrimp in the dish and they as well were very tasty. A nice and very generous touch was a cucumber salad the wife brought out for me to enjoy. I'm not a big cucumber lover but the cucumbers with the homemade dressing were really good and actually complimented the heat from my dish with the cucumbers refreshing coolness and delicious dressing providing a nice contrast from the heat of my dish. A perfect yin and yang of harmony and balance. That also brought out delicious and fresh watermelon as a dessert and palate refresher. As I said in my previous reviews I don't hand out 5 stars very easily but I had no hesitation in placing Home Flavor at 5 stars for the pride, sincerity and work that they are placing into THEIR restaurant and as well as each dish. They are wonderful, caring people who make you feel like a friend and a guest at their table. Please give them a try as they truly deserve it for many reasons. read more

The decor is nothing fancy but the food was delicious. The hot and sour food was the best sour soup I've had in the area. I ordered the beef in black bean sauce because it's a dish I enjoyed in Philadelphia's China Town and have not seen it locally until tonight. Very flavorful. Fresh and crispy vegetables. Amazing food! The best hot and sour soup I've ever eaten. We've been here multiple times and have not been disappointed in anything.

Decided to go to Home Favor because my usual restaurant only does take-away. From the reviews, I was just expecting a good, standard Chinese dinner. The location and interior do not suggest fancy. We ordered three items Chicken Lo Mein, Pepper steak with onions and Sweet and Sour Pork ribs. (With a new restaurant, I usually stick to some of the old standards.) Each dish completely exceeded our expectations. In addition to being tasty, they had flavor elevated above what can be found in the typical Chinese restaurant. Perfectly cooked noodles and vegetables, complex and tasty sauces and meat that is tender, juicy and full of flavor. Everything was very fresh and prepared to order. We stuffed ourselves and used the rice to capture the last drops of the sauces - it was just THAT good. Immediately went on my list of favorites. Home Flavor is a Home Run. read more

Awesome new authentic Chinese restaurant serving food from Northeastern China. The owners take great pride in the quality of the dishes they serve and the food comes out fresh, hot, and filled with love! They adjust the spice level to your preference so your spice cravings will surely be satisfied. We've mostly focused on the "Chef's Specials" but other diners said that the dishes on the main menu were outstanding! It's very nicely decorated with 3 large booths and 4 or 5 regular 4 tops so not huge. We've also done takeaway and everything was piping hot and delicious. I've only gotten takeout or delivery from this gem, but my expectations have been consistently exceeded with each visit! I typically get the Moo Goo Gai Pan, which is phenomenal but I tried the House Lo Mein recently and wow! It was delicious. This is not only some of the best Chinese food I've had in the area, but honestly some of the best food period. Super flavorful and yummy. Definitely give it a shot. read more

The food is okay, similar to other Chinese food in the area, and the employee that I talked to was great, he even brought my food out to me because I am a handicapped person who uses a wheelchair. He even made sure my order was customized to my needs. So all of that was great. But the parking lot isn't adequate for the types of businesses located there. A bar and a restaurant alone need more parking than what is there. For that alone it's dangerous and I won't go back. I'm not sure how business licenses went through for that location based on the types of businesses that are there. Maybe a hair salon where people make appointments and come and go, but not a tiny parking lot where there's a possibility of drunks leaving and possibly killing someone; not that a drunk person should ever drive, but hey, I'm realistic.
