The absolute worst taste in Chinese food I've ever had. Do not waste your money on this place. There are plenty of other good Chinese restaurants in the Largo area. Do not go here.!!!! read more

Best crab rangoons around! They spice up their general tao, so it has amazing flavor. I love this place, the young girl always helps me when I have questions. I usually get delivery or do pickup but I think this is family owned and I always love to support family owned restaurants. read more

The place was really not clean. It looks like they are 1 step away from closing. There is absolutely no great places for Chinese food in a 5 mile area here. The noodles were awful. The chicken was like eating a rubber band. Just bad- and the customer service was terrible. No thank you or hello- what you want? read more

I thought the food was pretty good. I am used to Chinese food from Boston. I did not eat in the restaurant - it was a takeout order - both times. I got the "typical" stuff: lo mein, egg rolls, beef & broccoli, etc. The restaurant seemed to be clean enough- not sure what people expect. Having worked in food service for several years, I thought this place was OK. Service was fine - a little understanding goes a long way. English is not an easy language to learn. read more

I had a craving for Chinese food! Honestly wanting some moo shu pork, I discovered that hardly any to go restaurants serve that any longer. So I settled for my second favorite, pork egg foo yung. They did not disappoint! When I picked up the bag to go. I noted how heavy it was. When I got home, I realized it was because there were three huge patties and a nearly a pint of gravy! I couldn't finish the meal, even though it was so delicious, I was tempted. Instead, it was dinner that night and lunch the next day. I'll definitely be back! read more

We go here frequently. The food is always fresh with prompt service. It's a great value.

Love the house special soup! Lots of veggies, meat, shrimp, and wontons. Always hot and yummy. Service is always fast and friendly. :) read more

China Gate - House Special Soup - Chinese Near Me - Largo, Florida

Really nothing great to say Nor nothing bad kind of middle of the road. Takeout Chinese food. Typical nothing really stood out.

Third time is a charm! I have recently had a massive craving for hot and sour soup. First place had zero flavor but good ingredients, second place minimal flavor but literally had cabbage, button mushrooms and a few pieces of tofu - nothing else! Tonight is the winner! China Gate's H&S is nice and spicy with nice sour notes, tons of veggies, pork and tofu - exactly what I'm used to and was looking for! read more

China Gate - a bowl of stew with a spoon in it - Chinese Near Me - Largo, Florida

Placed an order on my lunch break over the phone for fried chicken wings and pork fried rice and wasn't impressed. The wings were lowkey burnt and tasted like they had been fried in old grease. The pork fried rice was OK but i'm not use to eating fried rice that doesn't have some type of small vegetables cut up inside of it. I also saw a few reviews mentioning the Crab Rangoon which I ordered but did not finish because the filling inside of them was too sweet. I wont write this place off completely since it is extremely close to my job and everything was piping hot. I may have a better experience after I have tried a few more menu items. read more

It's always quick, always tasty, good range of items on the menu and everyone is very nice

Food was good. I really enjoyed the experience since called for pick up and food was ready in about 15 minutes. I had the bourbon chicken and it was good. Next time I will probably ask for some extra sauce since I like it a bit wet. read more

I have tried several Chinese places around the area, trying to find my go to spot. Well this one ended up the winner. The food was great, prices were good. It's not a fancy place at all, and there is still a Covid wall between the front and back, but that's ok with me. If you want decent Chinese food I recommend you give this place a try. read more

I'm going to give this place a five star review for now although I've only eaten there once. The only meal my husband will eat is General Tso's chicken. This one has been the best so far. Big chunks of chicken not over done with the breading. Enough sauce to keep it juicy. I had spicy chicken which comes with no breading. Lots of vegetable. I'll try different things next time. read more

NEVER had a bad meal!! Even after our Hurricane these ppl were open and ready to serve! Amazing! There is NO other choice for us! Thanks guys! read more

China Gate - the entrance to a chinese restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Largo, Florida

Like many have said DO NOT ORDER ONLINE!!! I put in an order at 7:20pm. At 8:20 I called restaurant she said she would call delivery driver. They said they never got my order from beyond menu!!!! Update: after many calls to BeyondMenu and China Gate, at 10:00 I FINALLY got my food. I even gave in and made something as China Gate called. Long story short. The people at the restaurant did an amazing job making up for the error and suggested I order direct from them now on. That is exactly what I'm going to do! Order from here just NOT online!!!! read more

Good China take out food ...quick service and good prices I ordered egg roll and beef cow mein read more

Awesome food, everything we ordered came out great, the people were welcoming and I'll definitely come here again

Not very good!! Got food delivered, new to town and trying to find a favorite. Ordered steamed dumplings, spring rolls and lemon chicken. The dumplings were terrible. Too big, doughy and bland. The spring rolls were good. The lemon chik was just average. The lemon sauce wasn't sweet or very lemony. Not very impressed and prob will not order again. read more

Good food above average . A solid Chinese spot. Everything I tried was good General Tso , shrimp egg foo young , shrimp & vegetables. The best I have found I. The Tampa area so far. read more

We moved here in October of 2019 , we finally found the best Chinese food! The food is fantastic, we order a lot of spareribs , off the bone. This is the first Chinese restaurant that does NOT server you fatty meat. Everything meal we have gotten has been delicious . You will not be disappointed . read more

The owner taking orders over the phone needs a vacation. She is very short and did not give delivery time or thank you for the business. Needs to hire a phone gal with a bit of personality. Geez... read more

Tried to order lunch for delivery. Man answering the phone basically spoke no English. After 5 minutes of frustration he said "I am canceling order" and hung up. Very poor experience. Also, restroom is "out of order" and children are running around the kitchen: a very dangerous situation. Health Department should be notified! read more

Love this place. Sweet and sour chicken and pork lomein is yummy. Crab Rangoon is really good too.

This is my go-to takeout Chinese food place. The food is always prepared well and the staff is always friendly. I have ordered from here several times and have never had a bad meal. I recently discovered that they offer online ordering now too which is a plus. I like to see the prices before I order and never have a menu handy. read more

Best Chinese food around town. I'd write more, but I have the Flu - and I really want to slurp down some Wonton Soup. read more

Very nice when I ordered and went and picked up. Have had a lot of Chinese They have odd looking Crab ragoon but WOW was Really Really Great!!!!!! Also order the sweet-and-sour chicken and was impressed with the red sauce not too thick not too runny not too sweet really good as well. Beef and broccoli was a little bit different than normal seasonings we're good .... Will give this 4 out of five stars ...... highly recommend crab Rangoon five star for that one........ read more

Overall not that impressive. We ordered the Sesame Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken dinners for take out. Each came with fried rice and an egg roll. First the good. Food was ready on time and was hot and well packaged. The egg rolls were very good ;crunchy on the outside and tasty in the middle. Service was prompt and friendly. The Kung Pao chicken was pretty good. Not too hot and not too mild. Good flavors and tasted fresh. The not so good. The fried rice had very little flavor and was a touch gummy. The Sesame Chicken was sub-par and I wouldn't order again. Nice big portion but about 75% of the chicken was tough and chewy. The dish was more like sweet and sour chicken with sesame seeds sprinkled on top. Overall a so so experience. I will probably try again for comparison but will stay away from any fried chicken dishes. read more

The SIGN says "NY Style Chinese Food" but I'm from NY/NJ area and this food is nothing like the food back home. I ordered general tso chicken and is RED and the chicken is GUMM. The pork egg roll didn't taste like pork. I would not eat here again. read more

China Gate - Wasn't happy with this food. Says NY style Chinese but it by far it's NOT. Gummy chicken and General tso sauce is RED! - Chinese Near Me - Largo, Florida

I've eaten here before & enjoyed the food, but I wouldn't recommend ordering from their web site. Ordered delivery 1 hour 15 minutes before closing but it was never confirmed or delivered. I even called the restaurant to confirm but was told that they hadn't received the order and to wait until the delivery service contacted me. Plan to pick up, but don't trust the delivery service read more

Had their flyer delivered at my house yesterday, my baby tortoise in the front enclosure is now missing. I don't know what to do about it as there are not any witness..I hope they read this review and return my baby, he's on a special diet and I was making a larger enclosure in the back, wish I had made it sooner. so sad. This is the best Chinese food in Pinellas County! I was trying to be healthy and asked them to do spicy chicken and vegetables with only chicken broth (no sauce). They were SO nice, did that for me, and it was DELICIOUS. I am hooked, and will be eating this at least once a week. Definitely give this one a try; you won't be disappointed! read more

I gave the 5 stars be because the food is delicious, I've lived in clearwater for a year now and have finally found a place that has everything that I like with a great taste. However the delivery is SLOW AF!! I am currently still waiting on food that I ordered for my daughter and I over an hour ago...its 4pm I ordered the food at 2:42 pm. I called a few minutes ago and was told that there are a lot of deliveries and my food had just left to be delivered this was at 3:54pm. DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY. read more

I decided to treat my wife who absolutely LOVES chinese food on a Friday night. I perused the menu and we decided to order two combo dinners. We have tried half a dozen places and we thought we would try this one. Out of all the places this one is absolutely the worst. First for two chicken combos delivered we were hit with a $40 tab plus tip. The portions were two foil trays smaller than a TV dinner. The delivery time we were told was 45 minutes. They came within 20. Strange. I can't get takeout that quick! Then we tasted the food. The visual appeal of my hmm... bourbon chicken. A brown tasteless mass of chunks of old stuff (could've been any mystery meat. no sauce.) With limp flaccid vegetables. I've had crispier carrots in a pot roast. As I could hear my wife crunch on her undercooked broccoli. Not even worthy of a salad. My dog didn't even come over for a taste. Utterly disappointing. Sorry honey. But on a positive note, they made every other place seem so much better. The canned cokes were the best part of the meal. Ramsey would throw this in the bin lol. read more

We've never had a bad meal from here, and tonight tried the honey chicken for the first time--AMAZING. It was the perfect blend of sweet and savory; even the broccoli in the dish was delicious! The service is nearly always prompt and it's reasonably priced. This is the only Chinese place we'll order from. read more

DO NOT COME HERE .The owner is so RUDE and messy with his service , I ordered honey chicken and it was very hard and tasted like it was rotten , it stunk up my whole house , when I called the manager he was very rude and said he won't deliver to me again. This deserves NO stars. Do not come here read more

I think this is possibly the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. The lo main was flavorless. The dumplings had large pieces of bone In them. Nothing out of the $60 order was good, such a disappointment. read more

The first time we tried this restaurant. The food was good so we ordered from here again yesterday. I don't know if they're getting greedy but the container of sweet & sour sauce for my husbands chicken barely covered half the chicken. Okay, not too bad. BUT, I ordered steak on a stick which now sits in my trash can!!! Could not bite it. Could not chew the very small piece I was able to finally cut/tear off the end. Had to spit it out cuz I was afraid I'd break a tooth. Not even dog worthy!!!! Come on people. You started out good. Serve quality food or I won't be the only person telling neighbors not to order from there. read more

I basing this review on a delivery type order. My first interaction is with a female on the phone taking my order. There is a notable strong language barrier. I'm not always understanding what she is saying; however, she seems to understand me perfectly. So the ordering process was slightly difficult, however everything was delivered correctly. On completing the order, I was given a 45 minute time frame for the food to arrive. I must say, they were quick, the arrival of my lunch was only 20 min. Today I ordered the fried dumplings, and a lunch special of general tso's chicken. The dumplings were very good. They have one side fried, and just a light brown color with a nice crispy texture. The filling in the dumplings was very tasty, I'm unsure of what they are filled with, and I didn't ask. It is a meat product of some type and delicious. They are delivered with a brown watery type dipping sauce. This is also very good, slightly salty, with a tangy finish, as well as a hint of onion. The lunch special size was plenty of food, there is at least enough for 2 meals. It was very hot on arrival, so hot that I was able to burn my tongue attempting to eat it. It the general tso's chicken served with fried rice, and an egg roll. The fried rice is cooked perfectly. The vegetables in the fried rice taste quite fresh as well. I have not yet tried the egg roll, however after experiencing the other foods, I'm sure I will like it. I must say this is one of the better Chinese type restaurants I have ordered from. I'm sure I will order again from them. read more
