I have to start with that coconut cake. I literally was like WTF?? How is it sooo soft, yet moist, and not too sweet. The coconut flesh tastes so fresh. I regret not taking home another slice. And the sauce has a sweetness to it that goes great with the filling. The Thai was also great. Not too sweet. I ended up getting the Krapow. It's not a dish on any "typical" Thai restaurant and I love it. I got the spicy level and it was perfect. This restaurant really is a gem. The place is small and service is okay, even on the slow days. Their menu was confusing because there were two types of menu, a noodle and then a food menu. I don't know why it just wasn't all on one menu. We ordered from both menus. Pad Thai: 4/5, probably the best thing there. Popular Pork Noodle Soup: 3/5, it was good but broth was concentrated a bit. Grilled Pork: 3/5, it was good. Pork Larb: 3/5, it was okay. Chicken kaprow: 1/5, very salty. Could barely eat it. Pad see ew: 1/5, very sweet and not enjoyable. Overall, visit was just okay. I feel shitty that I'm leaving this less than stellar review but I had really high hopes for Patti's. The running commentary with certain friends is "if Coty says it's good, it's worth going to." Coty does, so we did. I was meeting those friends here for lunch today and arrived a few minutes before 2. My friends were about 5 minutes behind me. I went in and the ladies working asked if it was just me and I said I had a couple friends 5 minutes out. "We close in 15 minutes".... I mean the sign on the door and online both said 2:30 and nothing on the menu would take a long time to prep. I should have honestly just left, it felt weird but I was committed to trying it at this point. She told me to pick whatever table, so I sat at the first clean one that could accommodate the three of us. It took a couple minutes for someone to bring a menu. Friends got in just after 2, we all put our orders in without wasting time debating, and just had the strangest vibe waiting and then eating. It's a small place but the waitress deliberately hip checked my friend while passing between tables and didn't acknowledge it/apologize. Around 2:10 someone came in for lunch and they told the guy they were closed and to come back at 4:30. They clearly have no problem turning people away so if they didn't want my business half an hour+ before they wind down between lunch and dinner they should have said something instead of the passive aggressive bs. Or they could just say they close at 2 on the sign. We didn't linger or take our time eating, and I ended up just abandoning half my soup because the vibe wasn't it. I wish we had a fraction of the friendly energy everyone else had both in the reviews and at the other tables. As for our order, I got the keaw-nam soup, they got the pad-see-eew and curry puffs. We also got some Thai teas and a soda. The soup was fine. The wontons were exceptionally good and clearly homemade, pork and veggies were fine, broth was fine. Again, I rushed through eating because of the atmosphere, but it wasn't some sort of mind blowing experience that would make me want to deal with rude bs. The curry puffs had a nice texture but the filling was oddly sweet. I liked having one, but the second one didn't hit the same. The Thai tea was very diluted. The other dish was given a 2.5/5 when we left and chatted outside (where I also had the last curry puff because standing around outside to eat was infinitely better than being inside). If the attitude didn't suck I would be down to come back and see what the rest of the menu is like. If the whole food experience was amazing I would be down to come back and attribute it to a bad day. But honestly, Pinellas, and especially Pinellas Park, has so many amazing and diverse Asian food options, this is not worth a second visit. read more

Been to Patti's Kitchen three times now, & my second visit was my favorite. My fave dish was actually the brothless dish with pork called Ba-me-hang. I still think about this dish and I sure wish I ordered it on my last visit. My last visit was a chilly night and I knew this place had tons of soup options. This time I picked the seafood soup called Yen-ya-fo. I order it mild with egg noodles, but unfortunately it was still spicy. I did still eat it and I know the flavor is pretty enhanced but it's def not a repeat for me. I ordered my hubby the pork soup with egg noodles and added won ton, but I'd agree with him that his soup lacked flavor. His second visit was also the better visit for us. I do want to come back here just for the pork brothless dish. The server was the same server as last time and she's really friendly, helpful, & will definitely give great recommendations. Fantastic place! Probably my favorite Thai restaurant in the area! Too many Thai restaurants in the area serve the same curry dishes. I love that this place goes a different route and focuses on street food, mainly rice and noodle dishes. Service can be a little slow sometimes, but that is forgivable because the people are friendly and the food is fire. I got the Moo Gra Tiem and it was fantastic! The pork slices were tender and flavorful and the rice was generous. But the real kicker was the dipping sauce. That fish sauce and chili dipping sauce took everything to another level with just the right amount of savory and spice! Overall, don't pass on this place! Heard about this place on the FB group Tampa Bay Asian Foodies and they did not steer me wrong! While not near my home or work, I did have an opportunity to swing by today between an appointment and work. So glad I did! I tried the tew ped toon (duck soup) because I love duck and I love Asian soups. I asked for Thai Hot. So delicious! Nice and spicy. I also got the flower tea. Sweet and cold and just the right accompaniment to something spicy. I will definitely make an effort to make my way over to Pinellas Park again to go here. Pattis is a hidden gem and I'm surprised they don't have a full house considering how tasty the food is. Let's start with the duck soup, it's very fragrant with quite a bit of cardamom flavor and a sweet and savory profile that is comparable to pho but with its own style, it's excellent and a must try . Next up we have the kana moo - marinated pork , Chinese broccoli with a a garlic sauce with a scoop of white rice on the side. Kana moo reminds me of a traditional stir fry in a Chinese restaurant, pork is cooked perfectly , a beautiful fried egg , Chinese broccoli as well and the garlic sauce is great , it's salty enough to want to mix with the rice because if the rice wasn't here it would be a tad too salty for my liking. Lastly we have the insane coconut cake. This is not your average coconut cake in fact you probably won't find another like it anywhere else. For those who are familiar with the taste of young Thai coconuts this is exactly that but converted into dessert form. The cake is fluffy , filled with a house made coconut Thai coconut cream with real tender coconut pieces inside, the same goes for the top so your getting multiple layers of coconut with each bite. Rare ethnic food # 64. Thai Street Food This is noodle restaurant has a lot to boast about. It is first Thai street food in the Bay Area. Their menu concentrated on noodle with many different choices. It is a true 5 stars restaurant to my book. I once been to a street vendor in Singapore that received the Michelin Star. This restaurant will be our Tampa Bay Street Food That has Michelin star quality. We started with Namtok Moo. It is the grilled slice pork with Namtok sauce with roasted rice powder. The marinated was good. The slice beef is great. Our fist entree is the Ba Mee Moo Dang. It is the BBQ pork with egg noodle. It is a dry both noodle dish. Very similar to Malaysia dry wonton noodle dish except they use BBQ pork. I like the sauce at bottom of the dish. So you need to mixed before you eat will help the flavor. The second entree is the Tew Pad Toon. It is the duck noodle soup. The duck is deboned. The duck is cook in the broil herbal soup. The soup base also from that. I think this dish win my heart. We have a lot love for this restaurant. Although it is too far for me to visit but I will make the effort to revisit. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I was so excited to try this place because of the amazing reviews. This hole in the wall place seemed authentic and the prices were amazing! Around $10-$11 for an authentic Thai noodle meal? Yes please! On the positives: really clean restaurant, nice waitress who was also the hostess. This place definitely is following the covid guidelines. The tables are spaced apart enough, they clean and sanitize each table thoroughly and the waitress was even wearing gloves! My beef noodle soup called Tew Neua Toon dish was amazing! Flavorful broth, big chunks of beef, delicious Chinese broccoli! I would love to eat this everyday! The negatives: the marinated pork (Namtok Moo) and the ground pork with rice dish. The appetizer we got which was the Namtok Moo was very salty and the sauce tasted artificial. It tasted like one of those pre-made Asian sauces you can buy in the international aisle in the supermarket. The pork was also very chewy and rubbery. The Ka Prow was a ground pork stir fried with Thai basil sauce, onion and fried egg. The meat was again, way too salty and had an overwhelming taste of spice. It was just too much for me. I don't know if they used msg but it tasted a bit too strong. Overall, I thought the noodles were amazing but the other two dishes were not good at all. I do think this place has authentic noodles and some authentic dishes but I think they could do better with the sauces. The prices here were very reasonable. Prompt for service but can be slow since there was really one person working the front. However we were impressed with the food. We ordered shrimp pad Thai and pork meatball soup in brown sauce. These are some delectable Thai street food from Patti's Kitchen I had the pleasure of enjoying last night with my bf! Thai Curry Puffs (tastes like an Indian Samosa! The skin is crunchy and crispy. The filling is so hearty!) Grilled Pork Balls (The side sauce is sweet and spicy! I thought that even on its own, the pork ball was chewy and savory! Great taste!) This dish was not on the menu, it was on special. It has shrimp, squid, fish balls, watercress, and fried tofu! The soup was sweet and spicy. I chose a thin rice noodle to come with my soup. We also got the Coconut Cake (not pictured). Our server says they make it in house, fresh everyday. They use a special type of young coconut that they get from Thailand. The young coconut is no joke! It was so tender to taste. The cake was salty, savory, and deliciously sweet. It had such of perfect balance of sweet.
