Been seeing pictures of the food from this place on one of the groups I'm in and since we were driving by, we decided to stopped by for dinner. We sat ourselves with no problems. There was a huge party next to us so it was a bit loud but that's not the restaurant's fault. Servers were very attentive despite the big party. There was some waiting on the food but nothing insane. My fiancé got the Panang pork ribs , the meat was super tender, it was definitely Thai spicy tho. I got Basil chicken, a lot milder but still a lil spice. I think the mains are big enough to share for 2 people for sure. Overall, good place. Food is fresh and really tasty!

This is probably my 6th visit over the years. The food is outstanding but the service is sometimes hit or miss. Tonight our group ordered Pad Thai wings, beef pad Thai, miso soup, and beef massaman curry. All were a 10/10 easily. Tonight was a miss night for service. We were brought 2 cokes even though we ordered 1 coke and a sangria. We never got a refill or received water and waited awhile to get our check. Had the service been better, it would have earned 5 stars.

I stopped in here the other day and it was a very nice place with a friendly waitress and good food. We ordered a Tom Kha Gai and a wonton soup to start and both were very good. I ordered Panang beef curry with brown rice and my wife ordered Pad see ew. Everything was delicious and we will be returning very soon.

There's Thai food and there's Kao Thai's Thai food...light-years better! I started with the Tom Kha (shrimp soup) That was an awesome choice. Silky coconut broth intermingled with just the right amount of spice (medium hot for me), loaded with big, fat, plump shrimp, basil, onions and ginger...all perfectly balanced. (I added diced baby Chinese eggplant to mine and they were coked to perfection. Yummy! I then had the main event: Pad Makhue (baby eggplant) Eggplants stir-fried with house sauce, basil bell peppers and onions) Again, medium spice and it was perfect. Having had Thai food around the world, including in Thailand, I wasn't sure how Kao Thai would rate. Thgey are outstanding and the prices are reasonable. Go and enjoy or order through Uber eats.

I order from here weekly. It's always delicious. Last night I received this for free in my order, what a sweet surprise! Love this place

I need not to forget about this Thai restaurant. It was so good. I'm still remembering how much I loved it there. I feel like they definitely have different menu options compared to the usual traditional Thai dishes you see everywhere. I ordered a chicken tom kha soup, shrimp in a pot and my hubby ordered the Thai fried chicken here. Seriously so many unique flavors from this food. Service was great and welcoming and it's a nice cool spot. It wasn't crowded at all when we went. I need to go back here!! Definitely a place I will want to try more from.

5 stars for the Thai food, 4 for the sushi. It looked like a nice spot to dine in at but we took our food to go. Service was quick and everything was delicious! Would definitely recommend and come back!

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambience 5/5 Finally a Thai spot that doesn't mess around with their spice , I ordered Thai hot because guess what ladies and gentleman it's that way in Thailand !!! Let's talk ga prow , Thai basil, fish sauce and a subtle sweetness. I loved the Thai spicy level , it was just borderline too hot but that's where spice lovers draw the line, the initial bites were very hot but I got used to it as I ate. This was very good and a new Thai dish I haven't had before. Going to add more to this isn't soon :)

My companion and I have been to this restaurant nearly a year ago. We decided to return and try the Tom Kha Gai and garden rolls (aka Summer Rolls aka Spring Rolls). The waitress greeted us as we walked in and we were immediately seated. The restaurant was fairly empty and the service was prompt. The restaurant was fairly quiet with light, jazz music playing in the background. Very easy to communicate and the tables were not too tight. We ordered two cups of the Tom Kha, which was the whole point of going. If a Thai restaurant does a good Tom Kha you're usually gonna have a good meal. The Tom Kha was creamy and had the right amount of lemongrass and Galangal. Very good. The garden rolls were interesting, but very tasty. For starters, they did not have the vermicelli and it came sliced, almost like sushi. The greens inside coupled with the shrimp and peanut sauce was very good. In fact, when we next make these at home, we may leave out the vermicelli. We split the monster roll as our appetizer. The fish was fresh as was the crab. The shrimp was lightly fried. We are planning on coming back again to try some of the other items on the menu that looked as good.

They were victim to a fire but are back full speed ahead with impeccable service, food, & drinks as ever. The staff is both friendly and genuinely wants you to have a good experience. They have mastered both the Thai and Japanese aspects of the menu (obviously in the name but a lot of places are strong in only certain categories). Everything we tried was insane. The Krab Rangoons really stood out to me as those are a dish everyone loves and wants to order at each place and they do theirs spring roll style so you get a bite of everything in every single bite - it's not all in the middle or barely filled. The Thai teas blew us away. We couldn't get enough. The rolls WOWWW was so hard to decide but our server, Kyle hooked it up with the recs. Same with the Thai side of the menu - the fried rice AND the pad kee mao were FIRE. I really wanted to try the curry but will definitely get next time as we could only order/eat so much! Can't wait to go back!!! What we ordered: - Krab rangoons (served in spring roll form - best form imo) - Garlic edamame - Basil fried rice w/ chicken - Pad kee mao w/ beef - TST roll - Angry bird roll - Volcano roll - Dragon roll - Salmon nigiri - Thai tea (og) - Thai green tea (matcha)

I love Thai food but have found many places to have been "americanized". We got the Pad Thai Tofu and Mud Sa Mon Curry with beef. There were a couple items we could do without. PARENTS WEEKEND ADVENTURE!!!…read more Went down to St. Pete/Treasure island for the weekend. Many reviews coming!!! We start with Sawatdee Thai & Sushi!!! We were excited to find a Sushi place a few doors down from where we were starting our weekend with a New Japanese HeadSpa Experience. (Checkout that review as well) We just wanted a quick roll to get something in our stomachs. The interior was nice and clean. It was themed nicely with touches of Asian elements. The Service was great as well. There was no one in the pace as we were there around 1-1:30 on a Friday, but we did see to go orders being picked up. The server was very nice and attentive to us through the meal. The challenge came with the sushi. The rice was hot not cold or room temp. I watched the sushi maker put a thing of rice in the microwave, but I thought that was to replace what she was using to make our sushi, but... NOPE it was for our dishes. It really turned my wife's 2 California rolls and my specialty curry heat = Spicy Salmon roll into the worst sushi we have ever had. The sushi roller needs to realize you should never use warm rice for sushi. We let it sit for a couple minutes to get the rice to be a cooler temp. Then once they were palatable, we ate them. The fish was fresh, but not spicy at all. The roe was such a small portion on the end pieces of the roll. Roe should be spread across all the pieces when it says it's part of the roll. Food to Value ratio: ok. If the rice and citrus heat were as they should have been it would have been a better Value. We paid 40$ with tip for 1 specialty roll and 2 California rolls. I paid less for the same meal at other places around St. Pete. We will most likely hit one of those spots next time, but... AS ALWAYS TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!!

My dad ordered a tom yum chicken soup and it was a nice sized bowl with lots of chicken and veggies. The spring roll appetizer was tasty and crisp. Star of the evening was the outstanding jungle curry, at Thai spicy level. I saw online that they have the crispy duck soup & thought I would see if they make the whole duck/on the bone, not just a duck breast. I love the crispy duck but I like it on the bone, they usually give you half a duck so you get a mixture of duck, leg/thigh meat dark & breast meat, the flavors are better with the duck on the bone with the light & dark duck meats. Anyhoo, they didn't have Red Curry Crispy duck on the menu but they were so kind as to make it for me. They told me they make it on the bone, they just cut it off the bone before serving. This sounded reasonable & I have to have my Crispy Duck fix, so Presto! Like magic, soon, a lovely lunch plate of Red Curry Crispy Duck, cut off the bone, was indeed presented to me OuiOui. I was also brought a side salad & crispy veggie egg roll. The salad was super fresh, but I didn't like the dressing. It was way too sweet, pooled into the bottom of the cup. Next time I will ask for no dressing. The egg roll was perfectly cooked, however it was served cold/room temperature. Would have been better served hot or at least warm. I'm very pleased that I have found a crispy duck dish that has light & dark duck meats. Not just a duck breast. The crispy duck here was also cooked beautifully. I asked for it Thai HOT & my nose was running. It was a perfect Thai Hot for Moi OuiOui. I noticed a lot of Door Dash & take out coming & going. Some ladies were chatting while waiting & they were all talking about how good the crispy duck is here OuiOui. Agreed. The Crispy Duck here is very good. I'm so glad they cook the whole duck on the bone, I know for a fact they do bc I got a tiny piece of it on my plate :( I'm not happy I got the tiny piece of bone on my lunch plate, but I'm very happy that you cook the whole duck. It's unfortunate I got a piece of bone, but the dish is delicious. I also loved the artistic way the veggies were cut in the dish, they were cooked perfectly al dente, the rice was also fabulous & the Red Curry was a very lovely Thai HOT. The prices are also very reasonable. To the Chef: Thank you for making me the Red Curry Crispy Duck. It was delicious. I prefer it served whole, on the bone, however, if you're going to serve it cut OFF the bone "boneless" it must be indeed boneless. I had a piece of bone on my plate. (See photos) I hope that you can be more careful with the tiny bones in the future, as I would love to explore the rest of your menu & try the Red Curry Duck again in the future. Will Return to update.

We arrived around 10:15 p.m. on a Friday night, with the restaurant closing at 11:00 p.m. Maybe that contributed to our experience, although several other parties were seated after us, so we weren't the last customers of the evening. We ordered quickly since we already knew what we wanted. My partner ordered the special, I ordered the ramen, and we shared the fried shrimp dumplings as an appetizer. Our server was friendly and attentive, though it was clear the staff was beginning to transition into closing mode. Unfortunately, that affected the atmosphere. While we were still eating, employees were spraying tables and mopping nearby. The smell of cleaning chemicals mixed with our food, which made the dining experience less enjoyable. When my ramen arrived, it looked more like a wonton soup or pho than the ramen I was expecting. I didn't question it because I assumed it might be their interpretation of the dish. However, the broth was quite bland, and the vegetables were still somewhat undercooked. The chicken had no seasoning, it tasted like it was boiled within the broth. After a few bites and sips, I decided not to finish it. My partner seemed to enjoy his meal, though he tends to be pretty easygoing when it comes to food. I didn't try his dish since it was very spicy and that's not really my thing. The restaurant is in a great location on Central Avenue, which makes it a fun area to walk around and people-watch. However, with most dishes priced around $20, I expected a better overall experience and higher quality food. Unfortunately, this isn't a place I would return to.
