Everything look pretty nice and reasonable prices (they do have high price tags on some items). No one greeted us or asked us if we needed help but they were very busy so I assume that's why. This store was fairly open with furniture nicely displayed. Some sets were not kept together on the sales floor. Overall quality was good. Prices were a tad high. Really disappointed with the lady working the jewelry counter tonight! I came in to look at and purchase a few pieces of jewelry for myself and my mom for Christmas, I had cash in my purse and full intentions of leaving the store with some sparkly items in hand, but unfortunately left with nothing. I only looked at one ring and when I set it down on the felt tray she took it, put it back in the case, locked the door and walked away from me without saying so much as another word. Not sure if she was passing judgment based of my attire (comfy clothes), my lack of jewelry (left at home), or just simply couldn't care less about providing a good experience. At least 3/4 of the items we purchased there fell apart over time. This table didn't fall apart but they charged $2500 (delivered) for it which isn't that bad. Here's what they do - we moved and couldn't use a round table so they only but it back for $1000 and will only give us 50% of that when they sell it. Do the math - they probably make around $5000+ on this one table, making money on the same people twice. There attitude is "take it or leave it". We do not recommend buying anything from these guys. They are nothing more than glorified junk dealers scamming their own patrons. read more

Both my mother and myself had sold things there and we're very satisfied. Last year I did business with the home consignment center in Savi Ranch. While smaller, it was just as well set up. I like this store and it gets some very good items for resale. As an interior designer, I recognize most of the brands that they resell here and they are particular about what they take. They have a pair of nightstands here recently that I designed when I worked for Steven Shell for Bramble and they had them priced at $499 each which I thought was fairly high. They said it was from Bramble but it was a Steven Shell night stand and I designed the entire line (mostly dressers a bed, bedroom furniture & TV units) after Steven's original design! I also had the jewelry lady look at my gold watch that I do not wear anymore and she gave me a price. I do recommend this place and I think they have a good selection of upholstery as well as case goods. They do get top dollar but apparently people here are willing to pay that!? First time Today I came in looking for a lamp for a dresser since I'm tired of hearing my husband talk about how this one corner is so dimly lit and how he wishes we had a light there. So like a good wife, I went out and spent some money, honey!!! I first found a lamp at home goods, it was $30 for an average lamp. Then I just happened to drive by and noticed the consignment store had lamps inside. Like a moth to a flame, I ran inside and was drawn to this lamp. Pros: -great selection and variety of pieces -great condition -I love the TEST DRIVE concept. So they authorize your card and then you have until 5:30 the next day to bring in the item prior until then before your credit card is charged for the item, after that time...that baby is yours to keep. Cons: -I probably walked around for 10 minutes where no one acknowledged my presence but at the same time I wouldn't want people on me like flies, so maybe just a hello/welcome would be nice. -there were about 3 of the table lamps that I was looking at and two of them were priced differently, I of course grabbed the least expensive one and was on my way. Check price tags so you don't have to pay more than necessary. The one I purchased was $99 and the other was $129. I returned that generic Home Goods lamp and although I paid $40 more from Home Consignment, my lamp has character and I like it! read more

Don't go near them.... they're rude and don't have an ounce of respect for anyone!!!!! I called this store to see wether they take my slightly used dining set, and they asked for pictures. I sent them more than enough pictures with all the details. Over the email, they gave me range quote, and they said when you bring it in, we'll give you the exact price! Today when I called them again to make sure that they want them and then rent a UHAUL, they again said yes, we take them. My husband and I both took the day off, spent the whole morning packing up and making sure that they get to the shop with no damage. When we got here, as soon as we off loaded almost everything, they said that they CAN NOT TAKE the set!!!!! Don't waste your time, energy and money buying/selling anything to these people! We have been to many Home Consignment stores in OC and Riverside; however the staff in this branch are not cooperative and lack customer service and communication skills. Today we wanted to buy a painting and we asked the lady there to hold it for us until tomorrow to think about it. After taking my information She told us that she cannot guarantee the price until tomorrow....!! At this point we immediately cancelled the hold and left the place. Never back to this place... there are many better places that have better customer service than this place. Very disappointed in my dealings with The Home Consignment store in Laguna Niguel. I had consigned something there this summer. It was not purchased, which is totally fine and not their fault. I was contacted by someone from the store at the end of summer and the person asked if I would to keep them on consignment a bit longer which I agreed to. Then in November, I got a call saying that they still had not been purchased. The person asked if I would to come pick up the item or donate it. I said I would be happy to come pick them up. I called back and spoke with someone again, letting them know that I was very sick and could not get by, she assured me no problem to come by when I can. I went by after I recovered (about a month later) and they told me they had been donated! I understand that I had not been able to pick them up sooner. However, they did have a note in their system saying that I had said I'd be by to pick them up. of course, there is no other notes stating that I had called back, I would have much appreciated them calling to double check before donating, knowing that someone had spoken with me and they put a note in the system that I wanted to pick them up. Would have been an easy phone call. I do not think that is right and I will never shop or consign something there again. Beware! read more

Good location with easy parking. The store itself is stuffed not only Wall to Wall but floor to ceiling and outside so there is a ton of stuff to look at. Not everything is consignment as there are loads of items that are straight from China, Thailand etc... and dirt cheap but to be honest some of these items are just a small step above the paintings we used to see of dogs playing poker. Others are great finds and priced well. The crew that works in the store gossips more than a hair salon and frankly aren't too friendly but that's just my opinion. read more

I would like to share the great experience that I had with Linda at the jewelry counter. I walked in and presented 3 pieces of jewelry to sell. Linda was very personable, reviewed each piece's markings (for value) and gave me a fair listing price for each. The process was quick and easy. Based on the experience I then made an appointment for a couple days later to bring in about 20 more pieces! When I arrived at the appointment i was told that one of the first pieces had already sold! Linda (and her adorable husband.. a retired jeweler who works there too) cleaned up a few of my pieces in need and they were very knowledgeable about some of the unusual stones in my jewelry. While a 60/40 split may seem unfair to many, the alternative is to bring jewelry to a place that just melts down the metal and give no value to any gems OR you can sell in a garage sale for much less. I very rarely go there anymore. Only when I'm in a hurry and under pressure will I go there. I have been insulted a few times by a older arrogant blonde sales clerk. I had a list of things I needed for my business. At the counter I was preparing to pay but while she was writing the purchase order I asked to use their restroom. They said no, I was surprised and said even though I'm a paying customer? I am trying to pay but it hit me and I have to go. They said walk to the market. I was disgusted that the blonde who thinks she's NEWPORT BEACHES babe of the year, states arrogantly , we have much higher sales to better buyers than you. I left and didn't go back for several years. I've gone in twice since then but I just can't buy there. I've wanted to but I don't. The man is nice, he's a good sales person. But I just don't like the people there a one dark haired woman was fine. I had life saving surgery and I will not do business with a store that can't allow a paying customer use of a ladies room. Some can't walk to a grocery store to use their bathroom. So for thinking their so " sophisticated and uppitty-up." You would think they would value their customers more. I'll go where the owners treat my choice to go their graciously and welcoming. Little do they know my family had one of the most popular furniture, antique and accessories for home and office, with customers from famous movies and the top music scene of the day. JEWELRY SELLERS BEWARE!! Yesterday I brought a ring in for a consignment evaluation that was gifted to me as being "vintage". Linda and Jessica were extremely nice.. no complaints there! This is not a review of customer service because they were polite and kind. This is from the standpoint of jewelry evaluation only. I was given an "estimate" of age, material and value of my ring. I was told that Linda had some regular buyers and that my ring would be a quick sell. But the price seemed a little low. I took the information and decided to have the ring professionally appraised today. The ring ended up being significantly older, better material and appraised at 3x higher value than what the consignment store was going to price it at. My advice to anyone with limited experience with precious stones or metals... spend the couple hundred dollars elsewhere for a professional appraisal because your low ball jewelry quote for consignment could end up being worth a great deal more. read more

This store is a treasure trove of surprises around every corner! After online store Perigold lost one of my orders in transit and gave me a 6 month lead time on another order, I tried local stores which had nothing of interest so I tried Home Consignment. I found two really unusual pieces in excellent condition that totally solved my problem in a way I didn't expect. The best part is, you can take items home 'for a test drive' aka 'on approval' and return it next day if it doesn't work. Customer service is great, the energy of hunters on the hunt is infectious , and the ladies who helped me were great despite being super busy. I must also mention the wonderful guys in red vests who help with carry out. The young guy is so happy and positive, a real asset to any business, he brought me an old blanket to protect my leather seats as he orchestrated the position of the console table into my little convertible, proving that you do not need an SUV yo transport your treasures home! read more

This store was unacceptably rude and neither I nor my friends will ever step foot in here again. They agreed to purchase a lovely antique desk from us. We went through all this trouble and time to unload it, and I signed a piece of paper that was an agreement that they were going to sell it on their floor. After the deal was made, the manager with a snotty attitude suddenly struts along and says "no we are not going to sell that". Then ordered us to get that "thing out of here"! Are they serious, how rude and who do they think they are? This is a five and dime consignment store that apparently confuses itself with Neiman Marcus! We happily took our desk which was valued at a couple of grand, not the $199 50/50 split we were initially offered and are actually relieved that the deal did not go through. Word of warning do not bother SELLING anything here. You will get ripped off. And don't bother buying any of the crap here they honestly have no idea how to value things. They assume that their customers are as dumb as they are! A very unpleasant experience, be warned! And I am considering taking them to small claims court. I have found the most amazing deals at Home Consignment! Most of our home is furnished with treasures that we have scored. Make sure to measure at home before going in to look. You don't have to bring a tape measure: they have them at the register. The inventory changes a lot. Everyone here has been extremely friendly and helpful. An important tip: take the time to learn the rules of the store. It's helpful to know before you start browsing because once you are attached to a piece, it's important to act quickly. This is the second time I have gone to HCC after shopping all of the retail stores and scored big! The latest trip to the store I was able to purchase a brand new sectional sofa for just $1200. Perfect condition with a pull out bed. Mathis Bros, living spaces were selling similar items for 2500 -4000. I also got some amazing bar stools from a model home on their floor. On these I saved more than 70% of what I would have paid retail. Delivery was easy too. They have a service that delivers for $99. Can't beat the value. I highly recommend this store. First time I came we were greeted by a pleasant woman (forgot her name) but didnt feel like I was in a car sales lot...but when I came back to buy a table that my husband liked I was met by a few car salesmen...It wasnt a comfortable experience and I heard the manager telling his staff not to give this or that to a customer because they needed to make a bigger profit. I know that is what they are in business for but sad to hear it vocalized on the floor..I just wanted to get the table and get out...my sales person now disappeared and I went to find her and was rudely spoken too by the woman who sitting behind the counter (by the jewelry) that she was busy and she couldn't help me because she was on speaker phone with some family member...ugh! So finally was able to purchase the table and was reminded there was no returns....so my husband came the next day to pick up his table and whoala there was a crack in the table, which I now remember was covered by a heavy metal piece that I was afraid to move thinking it might scratch it...grrr My husband didn't find it till he was unloading it. So we've been lucky to have acquired many fantastic pieces in 2011 durng an economic down turn. The recession hit us bad. Homeowners of multi million dollar homes everywhere were losing their homes and consigning their beautiful high end furniture to Home Consignment at very low prices. We bought up the merchandise like kids in a candy store. We were fortunate at the time to be in an advantageous position to purchase many amazing pieces including a beautiful 10×12 wool rug, full bar for our wine room, a beautiful bed frame, an entry table, a sofa table, end tables, fine art work, a master bed frame, outdoor statues... and it goes on. We really were having a blast. We WERE kids in a candy store. So fast forward to today, we are doing a remodel after 12 years and brought some items we bought from Home Consignment back to the store where they were originally purchased. They cut the value by 50% of what we paid and totally dissed my items. They tell you how they're not sure they want to take my pieces because they won't sell and are not in demand and anything negative they can invent. When I go in as a buyer, it's just the opposite. Everything I showed interest in was"magnificent" in every way. I'm paying this because I want to expose their business practice. If you're a buyer, the pieces ate amazing.
