They were the first to tell me to beware of this company from what I was relaying to them what SOS told me. Turns out they put a 4 ton unit in my 1 to 1.5 ton max living space and duct size that is short cycled and stopped working. I had this confirmed by two different HVAC companies. Main issue…read moreI have is that the wiring junction box cover had been removed and the wiring pulled from the box, not a problem. But upon completing the repair the wiring was left out of the cord grip going into the box and just wire nutted so that the cover could not be put back on, hence leaving the wire cover off. The burner box cover was left off, and the plugs for the A/C unit were not plugged back in and the new motor wires had not been put back through the cord grip that goes into the control panel (they were just put the the hole in the box). I know it was a very busy time of year for Ron due to the two week 95 degree temps and everyone calling, but this is not an excuse for a business owner to do incomplete work. He should have tested the whole system including the A/C whether he had worked on it or not. For crying out loud that is why my wife called him for in the first place, she did not know that the furnace fan needed to be replaced, just that the A/C had stopped working. Upon returning from work that evening, and a quick inspection of the furnace, I called and him and he promptly came back over which was completely unexpected but great service. When he arrived I had already fixed all of the items that he had not completed. Prior to leaving he obviously was upset and was not very polite with his departing comments. I mentioned I had repaired the items he forgot to complete and he just angrily said, "good" and stormed off to his truck and left. My wife mentioned later that she had asked if he needed anything and she said his comment was, "just stay out of my way and this will get done much sooner". Obviously not wanting anyone to watch his work or check it prior to his leaving. Just poor workmanship all the way around. Due to his quick response to the call this might not have been a problem if the home owner wasn't capable of fixing this themselves. But I was not in town and thought it would be best to have someone look at it prior to the weekend when parts are available. My mistake for not asking my wife to stick with some of the bigger businesses in town that were a few days out for service. Not saying that this company is not capable of making a repair, but I won't be using them in the future.

When the old water line was cut (within the drywall of the interior home room) the guy wasn't paying attention, leaving the cut and going out to his van. There was a LOT of residue water in the line and had I not been watching and able to capture the drainage at least a gallon of water would've spilled between the drywall and the house frame. Little to no ventilation in that space assuredly would've led to mildew and perhaps the need to replace drywall. Secondly, before leaving I noticed he hadn't used any foam fill between the outside wall and the spigot. I asked about it and he said, "It doesn't need it". Malarky! It was needed and I applied it myself after a run to the store. This was just laziness on his part. Yeah, if in a pinch again and Hometown was the only shop available to fix I'd go with them again. Otherwise, I'll look elsewhere for plumbing needs.
