Some new, some antique, some classic, some quirky. The owner/manager/employee that was on shift was super pleasant and welcoming. She engaged in conversation and made us feel welcome. The shop is kind of tucked away in a center that you wouldn't really expect to find it in. I hope they do well in the future and are able to get the word out about the store. We decided to make check out the store, and we are so glad we did! Right when we walked through the doors, we were instantly greeted by Joseph, who we totally adore, and the wonderful staff! Joseph did everything in his power to make help us out and made us feel right at home. My wife and I love the whole rustic modern feel, and we felt like kids in a candy store. We saw a long wooden dining table that we really liked, but decided to check out the other well known furniture stores in town before we pulled the trigger. We loved how helpful and friendly everyone in the store was, and we felt no pressure at all. After checking out the local competition, we ended up right back to where we started. Although some of products at the other stores may look nice on the outside, the finish and quality doesn't compare to what we found here. We purchased the long dining table, along with a another round dining table set and buffet table. They delivered everything in a very timely matter, and were so accommodating with our schedule! I was surprised I hadn't heard about the Artists Co-Op before today! I learned about it from…read moreanother art group here in Reno and decided to check out the reception they were having for an exhibition entitled, "The Art of Words." When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a kind lady who told me a bit about the co-op. I learned they have a new exhibition every month but display current members' art all the time. I had the feeling that the members have been a part of this for many years. I headed on back to the exhibition and passed through several rooms on the way there where I saw the members' artworks. When I reached the back room for the exhibition, I spent some time admiring how some artists interpreted "The Art of Words." I was mostly impressed with the pieces that were actually made out of the pages of books like dioramas. When a member and I chatted about portraits (which I enjoy painting), I was a little disappointed to learn they would never hold an exhibition of portraiture because "portraits don't sell." I'll keep an eye out for future exhibitions though, because I enjoy supporting local artists.
