My new guilty pleasure for delivery and takeout. Well, not even guilty because the macros are so good. I love that they lead with the protein on their menu. I recently checked the calories on the website, and it was a little higher than I expected, but still healthy nonetheless, and amazing protein macros. Not sure how they do it. My go-to dish is the shredded chicken with noodles. I don't like the spicy chicharrones. It kind of ruins the entire vibe of the dish. The dish is so simple yet so good somehow. I pour the sauce all over, and it just makes the lettuce good, the noodles good, and the shredded chicken is good too. I also like the regular chicken noodles. It just depends what I want. I find the shredded chicken easier to eat with the noodles because it is similar texture to the noodles, so it all goes well together, especially with the crunchy salad leaf in one bite. They do run deals. Sometimes it's cheaper to buy directly from their website rather than using DoorDash, but sometimes they have good DoorDash deals. It seems like the deals vary at the time of day, is what I've noticed, or maybe it's personalized to my account. I'm not sure, but they definitely have some fancy algorithms going on. The main lady worker does not understand English. I believe only Spanish. The first time I ordered, they did not give me utensils, and that was a struggle because I wasn't eating at home. I cannot believe we actually catered from a restaurant from SF while we are down in the South Bay. Nevertheless, food arrived on time or even earlier than expected. We got Grilled BBQ Chicken, Hatyai Crispy Chicken, Spicy Thai Basil Pork, Vegetarian Yellow Curry, garlic rice noodles, white rice, and salad. The Grilled BBQ Chicken is the best. The meat is so tender and juicy and the flavor completely got in. We had the Spicy Thai Basil Pork last time and it was super spicy for me. This time the spice level was toned down and it was actually good to eat mixing with the rice noodles. The rice noodle was labeled with minced garlic sauce, but it's not evenly mixed. There's only a tiny spot that I saw a color change, so maybe that's the spot with the fish sauce. The most unpopular dish is the Hatyai Crispy Chicken. There's tons of left over. I didn't get it either to avoid too much fried food on my diet. The Yellow Curry tofu is ok, curry is hard to stand out, esp when it's vegetarian. read more

The bag of spicy chicharon was placed directly on top of the noodles, and the sauce container was also placed inside the food box, which I consider a contamination risk. Holy Shred has been my go to whenever I don't want to cook. And the mee gai cheek has been consistently good. Juicy shredded chicken, silky noodles, crunchy lettuce, and spicy chicharron. I usually order an extra house sauce because the chicken soaks it up like a sponge. Having two ensures the entire dish is coated. I recently ordered pad Thai with tofu, which is the second time I've ordered it. I enjoyed the tofu, which was crispy and spicy. But the pad Thai was salty and I didn't get any tamarind flavor. I could only eat half, but decided to save the other half. A day or so later, I heated it up in my frying pan with a bit of water to soften the noodles. And it was so good! It wasn't salty anymore and I got a bit more tamarind flavor. So in the end I still enjoyed my meal, but I'm not sure if I'd order it again because the point of ordering take out is to eat it right away. Prices have gone up a little bit, but it's still one of the more affordable meals in the neighborhood. It's only for takeout, so you can order online ahead of time through DoorDash for pickup or delivery. I guess What the Cluck must've uttered its last cackle because I briskly walked up Larkin Street anticipating some dependable poached chicken and ginger rice for my lunch break from jury duty. Alas, a different business has taken over with a busy crew preparing a Thai street food menu. They make their own variations of chicken rice though the poultry was fried vs. poached. They also offered noodles and pad thai, so I figured this spot was worth a try. I ordered the $12.95 Fried Chicken Noodle with Spicy Shallots (Photo 4). It was a hot day, so it was hard to find a shaded area to eat. I got lucky and found an outdoor bench at Opera Plaza. It was tasty though the fried chicken was a bit heavier than I wanted that day. I think the vermicelli noodles could've used sesame oil, but the lettuce provided a nice contrast. I guess I'll stick to other spots for Khao Mun gai, but this was a reasonably solid alternative. I haven't had such good noodle dishes like this in a long time. I would say i'm team chicken at the moment but their beef one is so soft and savory, I truly enjoyed my experience here. Price is affordable and portion is huge, keep me full for almost a whole day! Staff is really friendly and attentive during my visit. He brought the food out and gave us a brief explanation of each dish. I got fried tofu for appetizer, it was crunchy on the outside, soft inside, came with a lot of spicy fried shallot and i can taste a little bit of dried chilly flakes and lemongrass. Chicken noodle packed with shredded chicken and their vinegar white sauce goes so well with it!! Beef noodle is a little more savory and their beef was soft and tender, i dont know how they make the beef taste so good like that, the green sauce came with it was spicy and have a nice kick with it. Each dishes came with the a small bag of spicy chicharron bits to enhance the flavors even more, love it so much!! Thai tea also good, the server also gave me a cup of ice together with it! Store is pretty small, so it would be better if you order for to go but i decided to dine in and they have a few high chairs that could fit up to 4 people! From the outside, their store sign said What the cluck(?) but the decal in the front windows is HolyShred, it was a little bit confusing lol. The noodles are really good. The spice level is nice, the flavor and texture are there. But it sucks that it's take out only and in general, I think the proliferation of take-out only spots is a huge bummer. Food rarely tastes better when it's been sitting for a while and one of the great joys of restaurants is eating with friends and family. I'm not averse to standing outside a takeout spot and just eating on the sidewalk. But this is a pretty gnarly sidewalk and the... scents would really make it untenable. Just tried this brand-new Thai spot in the heart of the Tenderloin -- Holy Shred -- and wow, what a pleasant surprise! I ordered the shredded chicken noodles, and they absolutely nailed it. I ordered food delivery from here. It was the first time I came across this place on Uber Eats and I decided to give it a try. I think they're fairly new, so they had a BOGO promo. I had the hatyai crispy chicken rice and shredded chicken noodles, and both were equally delicious. The portion seems good for the price. The chicken was seasoned well and tender, side salad was fresh, rice was fluffy, and vermicelli had a good bite. They also provided crispy chicharron to go with the dishes, which took it to the next level. I appreciate the quality of these Thai street food. The spice level of the dishes were fairly mild for me (an asian), but for those who can't handle spicy food, they have the sauces set aside in separate cups. Thinner vermicelli noodle and is cooked perfectly. Has a nice bouncy texture so it did not break apart even after warming it up for a few seconds as recommended. Fried pork bits are a good addition for different texture. For sensitive teeth, be warned, some pieces were hard to chew. Chicken dry noodle -Subtle similar taste to vietnamese vermicelli. But not entirely. Chicken seems to be dark meat so not dry AT ALL. Very refreshing and flavorful. But it did get a little sweeter the more i ate it. But this is very delicious and a must try. Taste very refreshing and would get this again. Beef dish is savory and spicy. Has a subtle soy sauce flavor from the noodles so this is much more savory and salty conpared to the chicken dish. If you want more salty, spicy, herby flavor, get this. Meat has nice soft texture and was not tough at all. Thai tea - won't recommend. Taste too sweet from condensed milk and cannot taste the tea.
