Yesterday @ 5 PM I called Holtkamp to let them know that the A/C was not working at the rental property that I manage, I was told the technician was currently in route to Loganville, but would get to me by 9 P.M. At 7 P.M. I received a call from Jeff Newman, he was leaving Loganville and was heading my way, he pulled in the driveway at 7:30. I knew it was the capacitor because Matt Hubbard had mentioned that the part was failing but still working when he did the summer service in May. Jeff replaced the capacitor, checked the amperage and the unit was blowing cold air by 8 P.M. I highly doubt any other company could have pulled off this 3 hour turn around from hot and humid to blowing cold air! The repair cost was extremely fair, the service was excellent and the peace of mind priceless! This was my first time meeting Jeff, but I will request him in the future, he's a great guy who went above and beyond and saved the night. Trust me, you don't appreciate A/C until you ain't got it. I'm done with Holtkamp. I called them last year to come check out the downstairs heater unit in my house. They came out, diagnosed the problem, and charged me a thousand bucks to fix it. Fine. Stuff happens. It's part of being a homeowner. Except... The next morning we woke up freezing our tails off upstairs. The thermostat wasn't working at all. It seemed like a bit of a coincidence to me that the upstairs unit would go out just as the downstairs unit got repaired, so I called Holtkamp and expressed my concerns. They sent over a sweet old guy who went back up into the attic and discovered that the last guy must have "accidentally" flipped the switch on the upstairs unit while he was working. (Translation: They wanted to see if I was stupid enough to squeeze another thousand bucks out of.) He gave me a bottle of Holtkamp hot sauce for my troubles and went on his way, and I took down the scathing review I had posted. Fast forward a year, the downstairs unit is out again. I called Holtkamp to see if they had even a modicum of integrity. (Spoiler Alert: They don't.) They said they'd be happy to send another guy out today to "diagnose" the problem for only $89. Sorry, Holtkamp. I can't afford to pay $89 every time I want to turn on the heater. You've got as much of my money as you're ever going to get. Also, your hot sauce sucks. read more

The appointment was made very quickly and the sales man Alex was very personable, professional and knowledgeable. He offered three great options and helped us understand how each would serve our needs. We made our decision after two days. Have experienced timely and professional service from this company. Technicians are respectful of their intrusion into your home. It makes a huge difference to me when I feel like the technician has been well trained and can solve problems with only one visit. They often point out other services they could offer to increase the satisfaction with your heating and air system. But, they are not pushy about sales. They have had some employee turnover. But, most of the time I get a visit from a technician that is familiar. They give you a time range of two hours for their visit and have made it within that time frame in my experience. The salesman tried to sell some American Standard models of air conditioner and furnace systems. However, prices were outrageously high, even with this brand. Not only was the salesman unwilling to negotiate, but he also was very rude once I tried to negotiate the price with him. At end, he became angry and left, due to frustration. read more

I have my 2nd A/C system installed today. I purchased another system from Holtkamp couple years ago. Their salesman, technicians and staffs have been very friendly, professional and helpful in every step of the way when I purchased the system. They were running a little late today because they had a flat tire this morning. They called me and letting me know they were running a little behind. I truly appreciated them letting me know. Holtkamp came out in March to give us an estimate. After much deliberation, we decided to go with Holtkamp. I applied for the Wells Fargo credit card to take advantage of the 60 months free financing. We were approved in seconds for considerably more than the estimate. My husband scheduled a vacation day and set up an appointment for Monday, May 9 to install the unit. To be on the safe side, we had Holtkamp come back out tonight to make certain there would be no surprises. Boy, were there surprises! He told us when he first walked in that the estimate was only good for 30 days, but it was his mistake for forgetting to write that on our estimate. Then he said they couldn't do the install Monday because we weren't approved for financing. I already have the Wells Fargo cards in hand. He also said we'd need replacement ductwork at an additional cost of $2,500. Follow up: my husband spoke to the owner tonight. The owner could not give answers to what broke down in their process, and he could not offer any solutions to rectify the situation. Bottom line: don't even waste your time with Holtkamp. read more

My wife and I just had our home built and we were looking for someone to install an Aprilaire 5000 Purifying system. The system itself cost around $525 each and requires approximately 1.2 - 2 hours worth of labor. I was very aware of what was needed to install. When I requested a quote from Holtkamp, I was not prepared for the quote that I received. The quote was for over $3,000 to attach the Aprilaire to the unit. This was the most insulting quote I've ever received. Even if they marked up the price by a couple of hundred dollars, they were looking to profit just below $2,000 for this install. Because of this quote, I will never recommend Holtkamp to anyone, I don't care how decorative their building this, that quote was an insult, to say the least! EEK! Methinks not Holtkamp. read more

These guys are a scam!! All they did was charge us $80 and tell us we needed a new ac unit and then stood us up for another appointment on a estimate! When I then called affordable appliance repair and they cleaned and gassed my unit! Now it's working just fine. So affordable appliance repair has me as a customer for good. It's a shame that businesses would rather take you for as much as they can rather than do what's right! So avoid, avoid, avoid unless you like getting ripped off! read more

I hate service providers that try to pull the wool over your eyes. Holtkamp is not like that. They do what they say they will do.
