It's honestly so much fun for kids and adults, and there's something about riding through the park that brings out that feeling of being a child again. Although December is my favourite time to go, the train is wonderful throughout the whole year. It's a lovely family activity and one of those attractions that never really gets old. I have so many fond memories of riding this train. It's honestly so sad that the train was non-operational for over a year, only to return for a couple of months before being suspended again. I really hope it comes back, but after everything that has happened, I have my doubts about whether it will actually return. It would be such a shame to lose such a beloved part of Stanley Park, especially one that has brought so much joy to generations of families.

It was our first time here, but we have been wanting to come for some time now, just always hesitated because the price was on the higher end. The one thing that disappointed us was the attitude of the lady working there. She was not friendly at all, didn't even smile once during the 3 hours that we were there. There is zero customer service. When it came time to leave instead of giving us a 30 min reminder to usher the kids out, she went in at 6pm and shouted at everyone. I think this is very unnecessary as the kids were having fun. As parents we were already trying to get the kids out of the play area to the best of our ability, but kids don't necessarily respond well to yelling. I liked the venue, but won't be coming back. We came here to have fun, and this kind of customer service has definitely left a very negative impression for us.

There are also a handful of playground toys, rides, slides and other attractions, complete with foam padding, safety nets and flashing lights, guaranteed to attract their attention! Admission is $28 per child (with one "free" adult allowed to accompany them) with no time restrictions. Posters in the restrooms also advertise special "after-hours" events, such as a Nerf War night for 8+ year olds, which sounds like a blast, even for an old kid-at-heart like me! About the only thing to complain about would be the rather terse and aloof staff running the front desk and managing the expected intake forms and disclaimers - they could be a little more lively and upbeat, if you ask me. That said, they do a good job keeping up the place, performing routine rounds to put toys away, vaccum, wipe things down, and generally get everything squared away in an orderly fashion.

This gives you access to: - Activities for toddlers and younger elementary school-aged children; - Motion-based activities (like a climbable treehouse and slides and merry-go-round - which costs $1); - Role play-based activities (like an airplane, firehouse, police station, farm house, gas/service station, fifth-wheel camper, hospital, dentist, restaurant, food market, post office/bank, news station, ice cream stand, school, and animal hospital); - Three party rooms (two on the main floor and one upstairs); - A cafeteria; and, - Three motion-based vehicles for children (they move back and forth in one spot) that costs $1 each: a bus, ice cream truck, and a car. ...because of the $1-based rides, you made find yourself needing to bring a lot of coins (only loonies accepted) and spending more than just $19 :) Like many other children's museums, the role-playing areas are often sponsored and logo'd by local businesses. === 3. SERVICE At the reception, staff are friendly; staff are friendly in helping as needed between the overall cleanings and play-area-resets they do every two hours. We did not come here for a party, and so can't comment on the experience with them hosting parties (though we observed what looked like a Spiderman-based parties with themed balloons and someone in costume). === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's bright and the high ceilings give a feeling of openness; the areas can also be easily traversed by people of all ages and abilities. Wheelchairs and baby strollers fit everywhere (except in the tightest of role-playing areas). We did not check out the restrooms while here. Parking is a bit odd as you may find yourself parking around the building/corner since many spaces in front are reserved for other businesses.

Even though there were lots of machines, I thought the selection was on the small side. I went back to read other Yelp reviews and some of them state that the staff gave them additional coins if they weren't winning anything. Thankfully, we didn't have to go that route, as we did come out with two stuffies. This is really different from one of our local places where it is $1 per play and for $30, we're getting 5+ toys. It was a late afternoon on a weekday and we were the only customers there for most of the visit. The one woman working the counter was nice and helped reposition some prizes. One of the toys we got was a Totoro that was very soft - quality seems good. I think you can have fun here, but I'd recommend walking the floor first to make sure you have the right expectations.

Suggestions - start the 30 minutes from the time the game starts rather than when we enter the room and have to get all the gear on. The kids wanted more time. We got sensors on our left and right wrists, and ankles. For those that had glasses, we had to were the googles over our glasses which we were advised could interfere with some of the sensors in the eyes but overall, they were fine. Although we put them in place at the outset, all those with glasses all agreed that the googles still moved regardless of how tight we had them. Overall though, the googles didn't interfere too much with the game. For those familiar with Squid Game, it followed a similar pattern where we played group games to win individual points. It was a really fun theme, especially for those of us that don't like zombie pop ups. Lots of feet and hand movements. We really appreciated that right after the game is over, they led us to the back to show us three clips about our experience. The clip was also emailed directly to us right away. A really fun activity with a group. Would definitely do this again, and... perhaps won't be so nice with sharing info about certain aspects. Every man for themselves right?
