I love this place!! It is such a fun activity for a rainy day in Vancouver and you can go with a big group. This was my second time going here :) The staff are always so fun and friendly, they really add to the experience. They also make sure to make you feel comfortable before starting and are more than happy to guide you through everything no matter how many questions you have. They have VR escape rooms as well as VR games, both are super fun but I'm personally a fan on their escape rooms because it is so different that your usual escape rooms that you see. The first time I went there we tried their Chernobyl escape room, it was a 3/5 star difficulty but we managed to escape 2mins before the hour!! It was so much fun, their VR technology is very impressive. When I went this time, I tried their Sanctum escape room which was very eery for me (I'm also easily scared so this might not be the experience for everyone). There were no jump scares in this one but it was based on a cult so it gave me the heebie jeebies! This was also a 3 star difficulty level but this time we managed to escape 15mins before :) since we had 15mins remaining, the staff let us play VR dodge ball to kill some time which I truly appreciated!! They are honestly soo nice! Their waiting room also has some arcade games that you can play to pass time. I can't wait to back a third time and try some of their other escape rooms! read more

Attended Evolve VR for a Yelp Elite Event a few weeks back and returned to sample their other VR games. They have lots of VR gaming options and as just my son and I, we narrowed it down to Arizona Sunshine and Propagation, both zombie apocalypse games. We opted for Arizona Sunshine. A little bit of a learning curve on the reloading but we both sorted it out. Checking vehicles for extra ammo is a must to be successful to get to the next level. And love that they can track your game progress so when you return, you can start off where you ended the last session. It was so much fun and the staff were so helpful. Overpriced and the graphics are not great, I have witnessed the staff on the powder if you know what I mean in the evenings and they try to hide it. My group arrived early and we chose After the Fall game. None of us had been there before and expected detailed instructions. However, we were provided with poor instructions and no support when our program had a glitch. We found out later that the customer service agent was changing shifts and was rushing to leave and left us unattended. We were all frustrated during the game because there was no support for at least 30 minutes. Our game was also joined by another group whom we did not know. We finally received service when a new customer service agent re-booted our game and the final 20 minutes was definitely more fun. We have been to Sandbox VR prior and that was a way better experience. The instructions were clear and there was support in the room with you at all times. All of us were very disappointed and will not return again. read more

This place was so fun and the staff were so friendly! Also you get in free if it's your birthday so that is an added bonus. We did the jungle escape and had a blast! Even though we only got 62% of the way through due to running out of time it was an absolute blast! We will definitely be back for sure and telling our friends cause it was such a good experience. read more

Yeah, I hadn't used Yelp for awhile, but, this place was such a bad experience I had to set a reminder in my phone to make this review. To be honest, if you have kids, be aware that people will be playing games and swearing at the game and there is no sound proofing. On top of that, the games were continually glitching and one of my controllers was on and off working. When I asked for a discount due to these issues, they didn't care. Fair enough, but, it was painful. I highly DO NOT recommend unless you have nothing better to do with $200. read more

I cannot speak more highly of this place. It's been on my to do list since VR came to Vancouver and I just never could make the time to go. When my friend and I had a spare hour we thought why not and I'm so upset I didn't go earlier. After the first time trying I came back four more times within the next week. I am officially hooked. I tell all of my friends about this place and have taken coworkers and family as well. The staff are fantastic. They are kind and knowledgeable, so for my first time I didn't feel like an idiot. Since coming into the experience I had no idea what to expect they set us up with a great starter option to get used to the visuals and controls. I'm not a huge gamer and I don't really like first person shooting games so I was worried but they have a huge selection and the few shooting games I tried were amazing. While you wait for your room, they have a selection of arcade games to play so you're not just mindlessly waiting forever. A bonus is if you follow them on social media they usually post about special deals and certain times that are half price. If you're looking to try it- take the leap! It's so much fun and an hour goes by in what feels like 20 minutes. I would definitely recommend Arizona Sunshine! Perfect zombie game. read more

The staff here set the place apart. So friendly and willing to answer any of your questions and readily available to assist with your VR experience. I was visiting family from out of town and we went to evolve to play as a group of four. We walked in and were able to schedule a time less than 30 mins later. They have arcade cabinets in the waiting area along with couches. We stayed for 90 minutes and had a blast. They have what seems like hundreds of games and can help narrow down what you're interested in with a few questions. Our assistant shared his recommendations for co-op games and was able to get two VR newbies all set up. They use the HTC Vive and the Steam VR library for each experience. Each person is escorted into a 9x9ish stall with a fabric drape to keep you private. Everyone in your party is connected via headset, so you can stay in communication about which games to play. The only problem is that when you join a room together in a game, that typically also has audio so we'd have to go in and manually mute that every time we started a round. As someone who has a Vive at home, I wasn't sure it would be worth it to drop in. However, I've never been able to play WITH my friends at the same time (only taking turns) so this made it worth it for sure. read more

They have 100s of arcade games which you could play until recently. I made a trip across town to play them and now they say there are only for corporate events because people were too rough on the machines .. so Maybe tell the people abusing the machines to be be rough ?? The machines are right next to the staff counter. read more

Awesome party place for kids! I booked two different birthday parties now (for kids ages 9 - 13) @ Evolve and it was the best! It was relaxing for me as I sat and listened to the kids interacting and laughing. Perfect way to entertain them for a birthday party. The staff were very helpful and gave me great advice so that the kids would get the most out of their time. The staff are patient and good with youths. They also work to ensure the kids are having fun together, and thought of things that I wouldn't have, like adjusting the shared mic system so that the quieter kids could talk as a group while playing job simulator and the louder ones could get way too excited as a separate group while playing a battle game, flight simulator or dodgeball game. I felt that most of the games on the system are suitable for this age group, so there were lots to choose from. And there is a wide variety of games, which is perfect as the kids had totally different interests. Everyone had a blast and said it was so much fun. They want to go again, for sure! Omg this place is AMAZING!! This is such a hidden gem! Shyanna (I hope I spelt it right!) was there to greet me and my friend when we came in kind of late. She was so welcoming and knowledgeable! She guided us step by step and made sure we were comfortable with the games we were trying. VIRTUAL REALITY IS FRIGGIN NUTS! It feels so real its insane!!! We had so much fun!! I wasn't ready to face my fears and play the skydiving game but I played a less scary one and it was so much fun lol. Highly HIGHLY recommended!! We will def be coming back! read more
