    Pandora's Locks - Where's Becky?

An experience that has the potential to leave you feeling mind boggled with a tinge of defeat - in…read morea good way, if that's possible. The puzzles here will work your brain! My friends & i did the Escape from Wonderland room. It was pretty tough as we had a group of four that are pretty good at puzzles and we couldn't completely solve and escape. We got so close though! A great way to spend time indoors with friends when it's pouring out.

We were looking to do an escape room in the Vancouver area during our trip and luckily, one of my…read morefriends is in a group chat of escape room enthusiasts and they recommended us to try Pandora's Locks. Apparently there are many bad escape rooms around Vancouver but Pandora's Locks is definitely one of the good ones. We were able to reach the owner through the group chat and he offered us to beta test their new room free of charge, which we gladly accepted. We set up the appointment for the 2 rooms, as booking is generally required for escape rooms. The first room we tried that day was their beta testing room, Where's Becky, which is 80s themed in a girl's bedroom. Even though the room only has 1 room, unlike many of the other escape rooms I tried that have multiple areas, the storyline was definitely really interesting and it slowly unfolded as you solve more puzzles. Since the room was still in beta many of the features were unpolished, but it allowed us the opportunity to provide suggestions which was pretty cool. You can definitely tell the owner is really passionate about creating his escape rooms and he prides himself on creating a rich backstory for the setting. He told us he would never put combination locks in his rooms as he wants his mechanics to be interesting. The second room we tried was their most popular room, the Vault 405. The price was $25/person with tax included and they accept credit card. This room is set in a futuristic post-apocalypse vault and you're job is to get the machines to work. Similar to Where's Becky, there is only 1 room in the entire place but there were a lot of puzzles to solve to get to the ending. Some mechanics were cool and overall the puzzles were logical to solve and would lead to the next puzzle. We had to utilize the hint a few times as this room definitely felt more difficult than Becky's, and their policy is that they offer unlimited hints. And how can you end an escape room experience without taking some pictures? They have a few props for you to hold along with a few signs with funny/whitty phrases. Overall the experience was awesome and it was great chatting with an escape room owner who's passionate at creating the best experience for his customers

We also did medieval prison and Aunt Elisa's Inheritance back to back the following day, both fun and challenging but extremely doable; we were able to escape as a team of two experienced escapists. All these rooms are great for both beginners and experienced escape room enthusiasts. The puzzles were very fun and we even had a few puzzles that we've never experienced before and that was very exciting (albeit frustrating during the time LOL). The puzzles itself were great, I do wish that the story line in the rooms flowed a bit more. There were times where the puzzles felt a little random but that's a very small part. The rooms are otherwise very well done. As with most escape rooms, they have a great online scheduling system. You pay when you get there (this was definitely a first for me). Trapped had very competitive pricing, probably the lowest we've ever paid for an escape room of this calibur. Remember to like their Facebook page and share their promo video for a discount! I would highly recommend Trapped! Can't wait for our next trip to Vancouver to do the other rooms they have to offer :)

What an amazing and unique arts and crafts to do alone, a small group, or in our case, a group of 8…read moregirls! All of us had a great time from the moment we walked in. The ambiance is super cute, with colorful, warm vibes. The music always soothing, and you even get hot tea and Turkish delights in bites. 1) booking has never been easier. We selected the pick you piece on site. So go earlier so you can browse and really find the piece and size you want. 2) go early, so you can start planning what kind of mosaic you plan to design in your platter. 3) be mindful of the time. You get 3 hrs, but the hours go really fast when you're having fun, and you're also new to this. Set some time aside, more than 1 hr, so do the filler beading at the end. My friends and I really pushed the boundaries of time limit and was rushing to finish our beading filler. Still super fun, but super intense thinking we wouldn't finish on time. Definitely would go back and do this again. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The establishment was clean and chic. Please note that this isn't wheel chair friendly and that you will have to go down a bunch of stairs to reach the studio. Price was right! For unlimited glass and beads. And for just the whole experience. Really recommend it! Parking was easy to find outside. Paid meter, bust its only 2 hrs max? So had to go up again to refill.. send a friend up with your receipts so one person can refill all the cars. Or carpool!

Hands down, the best art workshop around!…read more At the Mosaic Art Studio you can make your own traditional Turkish lamp using hand cut mosaic glass and beads. I've never been to a more satisfying art workshop. You start with a specific project in mind (think Candle Holders, or different shapes of lamps... Table, Aladdin, Swan, and Moon lamps). They are all the same difficulty and range in prices from $79-139. In their studio, you spend 3 hours making your lamp, and what may seem like a lot of time, those precious hours will fly by. Their studio, which is just across from Columbia station, is gorgeous! It's decorated with rugs and lamps and intricate Turkish pieces all set to get inspiration from. Each workshop table has an assortment of colorful beads and hand-cut glass pieces. You also get a handy sheet that has examples of designs that you can use for your creation. It's fun getting to design your own lamp. You have the creative freedom to choose the color, shapes and styles, or you can even wing it. Whatever you choose, it will come out perfectly following their instruction on what to do. Once you're finished making your glass bowl insert, the studio takes two weeks to seal it to preserve your design. You'll receive an email when it's ready to collect. And at home, you can marvel in awe of what you created. I've also booked the team here for an in-office team-building group workshop, and they were fantastic. They set up everything similar to their studio and even played the traditional Turkish music. The instruction was clear and they had plenty of their friends to help on a one-on-one basis if anyone needed help or advice. The team here make it a really seamless process and I couldn't recommend them enough! Come to their beautiful studio or book them for an event, either way, it's a fun time creating your own Turkish mosaic lamp!

As a manager of a seasoned tech team, I'm always hunting for engaging challenges--and this is hands down the gold standard in Vancouver. We brought a group of 10, and I was so impressed by the intentional design. Usually, with a large group, you run into "too many cooks in the kitchen," but the abundance of clever, parallel challenges meant our group could split into smaller teams and stay fully engaged from start to finish. The production value is incredible; the environment is so responsive that it feels like genuine magic. What really moved us, though, was the hospitality. The Find and Seek staff went out of their way to include a subtle nod to a specific fandom as part of a farewell for someone leaving our team. Their thoughtfulness and organization made the moment work perfectly, taking the experience to a heartwarming personal level we didn't expect. It was fantastic to see everyone collaborating on such creative, tactile puzzles--we are so glad we picked this creative team to host us. They didn't just provide an escape room; they helped us create a lasting memory. 10/10!
