Mo…read moreassured us they could closely match our existing wood floors, which is why we hired WFG for the quote provided (about 30% higher than our avg quote.) The floors are a completely different color than our existing older hardwood. I understand that the match was never going to be exact, but I am disappointed in how far off they are. If matching aged flooring was never possible, they should not have set our expectations otherwise. When I asked Mo if he thought the color was close, he said they were "maybe 10% different", which I believe was a dishonest answer. The floors are also extremely soft - just lightly pushing a finger nail into them leaves a dent. My guess is they bought cheap planks, made of young lumber that is not as strong as our original floors. The planks were not sanded well either, the surface has bumps that can be felt even with the finish complete.

I had September 16 at 9:30 a.m. in my calendar, but when he did not arrive, I was told the appointment was actually scheduled for the 17th. When Garrett arrived, I asked if he would remove his shoes before walking through my home. He told me that, based on company rules and OSHA requirements, he had to keep them on because they are general contractors. I later verified that OSHA did not require that under the circumstances. I was so surprised by the response that I did not think to offer the disposable shoe covers I had available. If shoes must remain on, I would expect someone routinely entering customers' homes to carry booties. Before the appointment, I had already explained that I was specifically interested in top-down/bottom-up cellular shades, with insulation, light control, privacy, and ease of use being priorities. Despite that, a fair amount of time was spent discussing other window-covering options. There were also several operating mechanisms. Although Garrett described them, I did not feel they were demonstrated particularly clearly, and I repeatedly had to ask to see the options again. I was then expected to choose both the mechanism and the color before an accurate quote could be prepared, which felt like a lot to decide during one appointment for a whole-house project. When it was time to measure, Garrett suggested that I choose colors while he moved through the house and ADU measuring. I was not comfortable having someone I had just met walking through my home and property unaccompanied, so I went with him. Once the measuring was finished and I could focus on the samples, Garrett provided very little assistance with the color-selection process. He did not offer to hold up the swatches, compare colors, or provide much guidance, so I had to ask someone who was already working at my house to help me. While that person held the samples against the wall and I stood back to evaluate them, Garrett remained nearby on his phone and appeared disinterested and disengaged from the process. At times, he also stood uncomfortably close, which made the experience feel awkward rather than helpful. The person helping me was also present for portions of the appointment and observed some of these interactions. My overall impression was that Garrett had product knowledge, but I did not experience him as especially engaged or attentive in the consultative part of the appointment. I did not feel particularly guided through what was a fairly significant purchase. Garrett also mentioned that the business was started by his grandfather and is now run by his father and uncle. Normally, I would contact a company directly before posting a review, but given that family relationship, I did not feel that my concerns would necessarily carry much weight internally. I ultimately decided not to move forward with Drapery Affair and Floor Store and chose another company.

He came over to my house 2-3 times to make sure I didn't have any changes before he sent the order. His price was almost the same with 2 other places I had quotes from. Therefore I didn't pick him because of better price. I chose him because of his personal service he offers. He delivered my cabinets after only 2 weeks, all assembled by himself. No charge for delivery. Lowe's would charge me $475. and would have taken 5 weeks. I had 4 cabinets with glass. Since the glass panels do not come from the cabinet company, he took 4 door panels to the glass shop and brought them back the next day and installed the door back again. No charge either! He came before completion of remodeling work to make sure that his product was installed correctly with crown. Plus he came again to video tape each door to make sure the automatic closing door closes without making any sound. He is professional, so caring and responsible. He is on time at each visit. We received the estimate on Saturday, August 15th and stated we would like to move forward with the project. On that same day, we were informed they were not available until October. I replied with requesting October 7th. We were told to make sure we have the wood flooring in the room for two weeks to cure. We went to storage and loaded all of the wood up to the room. On Monday the 17th, I e-mailed them stating we did not hear back. They wrote back on Tuesday the 18th, "I apologize we usually don't send emails out on the weekend. Thank you for understanding. I would need to double check, I don't have my calendar on me. I will get back to you by the end of the day and confirm on that date." Did not hear back at the end of the day. The next day I received an e-mail apologizing, that she was not feeling well and had an ER visit. She offered a date and we exchanged e-mails regarding how long the project will take. I requested a morning start since it might go into the next day and then I received the following e-mail: "I'm sorry, but after giving it some thought, we've decided that we don't be able to move forward with the project. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and I appreciate your understanding." So now we have wood planks sitting upstairs in our room with no installer. I'm disappointed. They seemed like a nice, young couple. I really wanted to give them the work since they are a small, local business. Maybe they got a bigger job or just changed their mind. Regardless, I hope they think about how they do business with people in the future. We are in our 60s and it was a lot to haul everything from storage and up the stairs. I did not think they would just change their mind and cancel the project.
